A1. My questions usually focus on how to support teachers the best; it's hard to ever feel like you're doing enough, but you have to keeping moving forward #mdeschat
  • DeniseFaidley Dec 7 @ 8:12 PM EST
A1. I reflect on my interactions w/ others or trends w/ instruction as I visit- to determine needed supports or structures #mdeschat
  • jazzmeister2013 Dec 7 @ 8:12 PM EST
A1- Reflection is a daily task for me. Looking back over the day. What went well? What might need tweaking. How can I adjust? #mdeschat
  • evyabel Dec 7 @ 8:13 PM EST
A1. I tend to reflect on my goals. I would ask questions such as: What went well and how can I repeat it? How can I support others to meet their goals? How can I pay forward? Am I doing my very best? If not, why? What do I need to learn more about? #mdeschat
  • jazzmeister2013 Dec 7 @ 8:15 PM EST
Q2 is coming through in 1 minute! #mdeschat
  • jazzmeister2013 Dec 7 @ 8:15 PM EST
Both @principal64 and @evyabel mentioned a power word- SUPPORT. Leaders at all levels can and should reflect on how they can support others. Sometimes just being a listening ear can be immense support. #mdeschat
  • WalterReap - Moderator Dec 7 @ 8:15 PM EST
A1: We have school-wide reflection, the Examen; 5-steps: awareness of God’s presence, review the day, note, emotions, choose one feature of the day and pray from it, and look toward tomorrow. #mdeschat

A2. Reflection is like breathing, it's a necessity. I think we tend to reflect most when things challenge us, so it's an important skill to hone #mdeschat
  • DeniseFaidley Dec 7 @ 8:19 PM EST
A2. Reflection is aimed at making decisions w/ what's best for Ss. But also how can I grow & learn to better support others. #mdeschat
  • BonnieRaz Dec 7 @ 8:19 PM EST
A recent success: my @UMDCollegeofEd interns are wrapping up a very successful fall semester. I'm always in awe of the growth. ❤ #mdeschat

A2. The best teachers I have known are great at reflecting and more importantly they are good at making changes based on those reflections #mdeschat
  • evyabel Dec 7 @ 8:20 PM EST
A2. Reflection helps me identify areas of growth and guides me to use my learner strength to develop in these areas. Sometimes it requires time to ask a colleague what do you think? #mdeschat
  • WalterReap - Moderator Dec 7 @ 8:20 PM EST
We have an amazing Peer Ministry Team, where we intentionally build in activities for students to notice God’s presence in all things. Amazing to hear the dialogue. #mdeschat

  • BonnieRaz Dec 7 @ 8:21 PM EST
A1 interactions, what went well, what didn't. How can I improve to be more effective in the future? What sparked those lightbulb moments and can I do it again? #mdeschat
  • jazzmeister2013 Dec 7 @ 8:23 PM EST
Q3 is ready to see in 1 minute! #mdeschat
  • WalterReap - Moderator Dec 7 @ 8:23 PM EST
Yes! When Ss reflect on the effort invested in their work, they can better evaluate their performance. It’s tough because HS Ss are all about the grade. #mdeschat #ShiftCulture

Yes, and the first step to making a change is to acknowledge the issue and the need for the change. Sometimes reflection can be a humbling experience. #mdeschat

Welcome to #mdeschat, Cliff! Thanks for joining in.
    • CliffGoodacre Dec 7 @ 8:26 PM EST
I ask Ss to complete an after-test survey - how well do they think they did? How well do they think they studied? What would they have done differently? What could I do differently? I get raw, emotional feedback in the moment!
  • DeniseFaidley Dec 7 @ 8:27 PM EST
A3. Time for Ss to reflect is something I discuss often w/ Ts when reflecting on lessons. Ss need to make connections, advocate for support, cope w/ challenges as well as celebrate successes #mdeschat
  • CliffGoodacre Dec 7 @ 8:28 PM EST
