This is definitely = time to welcome all of these educators new to Twitter. So many new to Twitter - WAY TO GO!
we are so glad you joined us:)
Hi all! Richard from Alexandria VA checking in!
Good evening Katrina. Thank you for moderating
A1: piloting starts with a clear need & goal, and includes strategy for gathering data to determine if a tool meets that need
Bourne where have you been? We needed you to doodle on a muffin today?
I took the week off to write my book, ...You get a free copy because I like you!
Hey Meredith! Great to have another Floridian join tonight's
A1 'piloting' is more systematic with a larger audience in mind. Trying out comes first, need to undrstnd before large roll out
A1: pilots are best when you know what the success measures are. Size of pilot is best determined that way
My name is Kathy H, & I teach 1st grade in SA, TX. LOVE learning ways to use tech to make learning more meaningful & engaging.
Trying to get the kids in bed so I can learn more about pilot projects. Be back soon
A1 Piloting can be a great strategy, but sometimes jumping into the deep end of the pool works great too.
training is pilot for Algebra 1 using
I love ! I have it set up so all my Twitter faves go to !
That could be a good excuse. You missed a great day of learning at North NJ though.
Read something interesting from a person who detests pilots cuz leave some out & too often fizzle out be4 total implementation.
WOOT! Welcome - we are glad you are here!
A1 Pilots usually have a goal of charting out how to integrate something new into your environment in a repeatable fashion.
Ooops, https://t.co/bV1JaR9H8W
at teacher level, I don't feel much control over what is piloted and why. My school was able to pilot MyOn this year, mostly for the iPads
I brought the new kid doodler too
Q1 for ... https://t.co/G9nsPyjbri
Q1: What’s the difference between piloting a new tool/product and simply trying something new in a classroom?
A1: With any tech use, it's about what you want to accomplish and communicating w/ stakeholders.
Large scale plans sound great when tossed around at meetings. Piloting allows Edus to see how things will work in the classroom.
Glad to have you join the Twitter chat revolution ;-)
I think pilots have to be started bySs' and supported by T's' and not be mandated by someone not in the classroom!
Q2: How do you define success when piloting a new product, process or innovation?
A1.a So pilots generate information that is valuable to others in the community. Usually with a more formal process.
A1. Piloting usually involves some kind of accountability
Hey Cathy! It was so great to meet you in person at !
A1 I think a pilot is a more systematic approach to testing a new idea. It's part of a larger effort or initiative.
Alright, we'll connect soon.
A1 You try it out before hand at home or over the Summer see all the good and bad and kinks. Other we teach real world lessons!
Hey everyone, Eric here, usually from Chicago area, checking in from vacation on Diamond Lake in MI tonight 😊
A1: piloting is like an iteration of the design process- gives you an opportunity to try it out, get feedback, & improve
Welcome! I'm sure you'll have valuable perspectives to add tonight!
A1 Pilot = try out first, work with it before widespread use, integration.
Hi Susan! Great to meet you at too!
Hey Katrina, missed seeing you this year!
When I piloted BYOD, I documented my process in my blog. Really helped with PD later on.
A2 Success for a pilot program is how it provides for Ss. Are they positively impacted by the new plans? Empowered? Energized?
A1: An edtech pilot should have a clear learning outcome / competency that the tool is trying to improve.
Sarah from Ann Arbor popping in & out! A1: Pilots also should have data showing effectiveness & follow-up
A1: piloting is more or less helping test drive the . Just trying out in class is playing & learning😄.
A2 define it before purchase. Than measure it.
me too!! Maybe next year :)
Happy vacation, Eric! https://t.co/yGoK8AUnWd
Hey everyone, Eric here, usually from Chicago area, checking in from vacation on Diamond Lake in MI tonight 😊
piloted for SPED dept 2 years ago, my supe had no goals, no data collection, no direction, Ts were lost
A2: getting to the point where a prototype is developed quickly, failing early, and iterating to make improvements
A2 student engagement and customer support are at the top of the list
A1: Piloting new tech requires some forethought and a plan/goal. Trying it out is just playing, which is okay too
A3: by Ss motivation, engagement, independent application, & over achievement.
Which raises an interesting contrast between pilots and beta tests.
A2 Do others start 2value initiative? Do students do better because of it? Does it dev life of its own? https://t.co/OPhpkTnnzb
Q2: How do you define success when piloting a new product, process or innovation?
A1 piloting seems to be a larger scale plan where trying something new can be in one classroom and then grown to pilot
Q2 ability to implement the new product and easily train other to use it I think would be important 4 success
A2: the ability to stay the course once a vision or long term objective as been determined. Not losing site of educational goals
A2: the first step towards success is being able to define what success looks like
A2: Success can be measured when students are engaged, challenged, and want to know more
A1: Piloting needs to have an aerial approach. Need to see full environment & impact of tech in lrning. https://t.co/IAJ0IL9Vnp
A2 I think success is if it works as intended, even w/revisions needd, when you can see potential, Ss engagd
Running late. Hi everyone! Great to be here. Sandi from NJ
A2 Is it working? Are we accomplishing what we hoped? What are the challenges? How can we overcome them if we continue forward?
A2: By Ss motivation, engagement, independent application, & overall increased achievement.
Hey Nicole! Great to have you join us!
A2: growth measures, defined differently depending on goal for the product
A2: I think I was successful if I find a new way to do something or if I can share it with someone else who can use it.
I would say a pilot is successful when it brings about a positive change. It solves a problem or creates a new solution.
Hey Eric! Are you enjoying your vacation?
A2: Must have some criteria to determine whether the edtech helped improve teaching and learning, even if in informal ways.
A2: If it engages Ss and Ts to learn more = win
A1: Piloting new tools/tech is great for those who are ready to jump in, and others to "safely" see that the risk is worthwhile
this is key...there need to be some pre-set parameters to measure pilot success
A2: I would say a pilot is successful when it brings about a positive change. It solves a problem or creates a new solution.
A1-Piloting should be discussed by all stakeholders, teachers, parents and admin. Trying something new-onus is on teacher
Good point about scale being a factor in one way of defining a pilot. Pilot = more formal process
A2 Ultimately, does this have the potential to be a game changer for learning? If not, why not aim higher?
A2: With piloting, it's about laying the groundwork for those who follow and making their paths easier.
Success could be indicated by use, engagement, and response by Ss'
I completely agree!! https://t.co/wwuLR4D9CJ
A2: the first step towards success is being able to define what success looks like
A2: if it's new, it should be helping to transform something. Ask yourself what it transformed & was it effective.
Both of which serve important roles in the ecosystem.
A2: success varies by goal, but often involves teacher & student engagement and buy-in, and enough data to make a decision
I think the three of us and need to hangout again at a conference.
Totally agree! A pilot should be planned. Also need to get review on how well the pilot worked.
Yes, it might be tough at first but we learn from the early adopters. https://t.co/vFiogzsEFA
A2: With piloting, it's about laying the groundwork for those who follow and making their paths easier.
A2 Pilots are successful when all are on same page for expectations, time commitments and expected results.
A2 You will have convincingly shown (hopefully), or disproved, its applicability to your environment in a repeatable way.
A2Did the Ss learn from it? Did Ss demonstrate their learning clearly using the tool? Was it only mildly stressful for me? LOL.
don't forget to include those on the product side...ensure they are accountable to pilot criteria as well
Yes!!! I think we waste a lot of time on things that don't transform anything. https://t.co/jSbHwgdMj6
A2: if it's new, it should be helping to transform something. Ask yourself what it transformed & was it effective.
Agreed - they both have their place. Communicating which is happening prevents misunderstandings.
Hey there Sandi! So glad you could join us :)
we would add that staff engagement and usage is equally important
A1 Does it inspire/lead to more curiosity? Make you thirty for more? If not, maybe best to move on.
A2Usually timeline for a pilot is about 1 year. Research shares with us that change takes longer than a year to fully implement.
Q3 coming up in 1 minute…
So that if it turns out not to work for you, the pilot isn't necessarily a failure.
A2-If it is effective for our students, cost effective and creates engagement for our school, students and staff.
Very much so, and understanding that criteria is important at onset of pilot.
"Transform" is an important word. Too many times we try something "new" that doesn't result in major change.
A2. Often the "runners" in a building are asked to pilot something - that would also play into the effectiveness of the pilot.
Love jumping in but is there a goal at the other end? Where we're going needs to be clear & we need checkpoints
A2: Also need to consider how the edtech supports school/district's vision of teaching & learning. If no connection, why pilot?
love that! Tchr stress is actually a pretty good implementation measure!
Agree! Having data regarding the pilot is also helpful.
Q3: Who should be involved in designing and implementing a pilot?
Agree - outcomes, timelines, and checkpoints are needed for successful pilot & implementation.
We need to rip the bandaid off, have hard convos when new things fail w/o fear of hurt feelings in EDU https://t.co/k9kAu8RwDy
A2: Successful pilot = Engaged, motivated Ss, creative and varied projects, Ts excited to iterate, more Ts onboard for next year
HI there Katrina! Grt to c u here!
A2: mostly, it's about how seamless the implementation is. Low-moderte learning curve & integration makes a new go-to tool
Right.... This should be the first & foremost consideration. Not "we need to use more tech."
That is a good point actually! Ease of implementation for teachers can be a key factor in pilot success.
Yes! https://t.co/XD5sWTWs76
"Transform" is an important word. Too many times we try something "new" that doesn't result in major change.
My goal to kill the S in SAMR. goal I think is to kill SAMR.
I think it should be the stakeholders who will use it. It can't be forced upon us by admin. Start with teachers and move upward.
A3: Stakeholders - school board, parents, students, and a group of teachers who are willing to provide feedback.
A3: As many stakeholders as possible, but always w/ best interests of students in mind.
A3 Teachers and Students with a variety of backgrounds and experiences - especially different ages
Agree - we learn more from pilots when we have goals and checkpoints.
A2: The teachers, school admins, and any specialists who will be engaging with the product. https://t.co/LrbRgrJuop
Q3: Who should be involved in designing and implementing a pilot?
A2: Successful pilot = As, Ts, Ss, and Ps talking about the pilot
A3: Teacher leaders need to be involved for sure.
A3: Ts, Ss, admin if necessary. Any one it could directly impact or benefit.
Finally got my act together and made it!
A3: all stakeholders should have some input into designing a new product or process. Start w/end user, work back from there
A3 Enjoy the pilot programs that come from following Ss' lead. Classroom twitter, Minecraft, all started from their wonderings.
A2: Successful pilot = Wanting to do it again, but better!
A3: How should students be involved in a pilot? When have they ever advised us about how to best proceed?
A3 depends on tool, Ts, Ss, who will benefit, the stakeholders, people who will be part of the exper & converstn
A3: Educators, school leaders, companies & researchers when possible. Clear expectations & communication between groups is key,
A2: succesuful pilot meets needs of all T's expected to use...not just the super teachers
A3: Classroom teachers AND students should play key roles in crafting a pilot
What's SAMR? Just kidding. But you can kill the S if you want.
Well said, Ross! so important to have students be front and center.
A3-I think it should be the stakeholders who will use it. It can't be forced upon us by admin. Start with teachers.
a3: For a class pilot, Ts, Ss, Admin, and evn Ps. Everyone has input that can help inform the most robust design/implementation
Once an idea is hatched having representation & reflection from all stakeholders is important to moving forward.
A3: All stakeholders should be involved in a pilot
Love when Ss have a voice too!
A3: Please don't forget the - especially if you are trying new software or systems - we really want to help
I have never seen a pilot happen this way, sounds good, but maybe large urban districts always do it wrong
you know my thoughts on the MuR model 🤔 We need to teach Ss what to transform & what not
Agree w/ input from all areas, but design should be Ts & Admin working as a team.
Agreed. Focus on the learning, not the flashy tech toys. Might sound obvious, but often ignored.
A3: Ts, Parents, admin but most of all the STUDENTS. they have huge insight into what does/doesn't work for them and for others
A3: From schools: Teachers, Admins, and any Specialists. From company: Product Managers and Teachers & Therapists in Residence
Love to encourage schools to bring in researchers when possible!
A3 Really need to involve stakeholders from every corner of the school community all the way through the process.
I also asked the pilot tchrs to present to other staff members to get buyin for BYOD in district.
A3: Everyone directly involved in doing the task. Also, have tech support available when things go wrong.
Ss' and T's' need to drive it with input from all stakeholders
just wrote a paper on this. love this quote.
A3: We should also find ways to include higher ed in these pilots and leverage their expertise with research & design.
Yep!!! Too often student voices aren't in the conversation. Sadly. https://t.co/YIfJC0j9PV
A3: Ts, Parents, admin but most of all the STUDENTS. they have huge insight into what does/doesn't work for them and for others
A3 I've found admin pushes pilot bc they get flak for under performing Ss, and they want to look like they are doing something
BOOM! https://t.co/skO1NWdtov
A3: How should students be involved in a pilot? When have they ever advised us about how to best proceed?
Hey, Sandra...How was Philly?
I do agree that it is more meaningful when the initiative is student focused and teacher-led.
A2: Success = when student outcomes meet student needs
Of course there's a plan. A one class pilot is w eager T is more effective than pushing on whole grade
that is an awesome way of putting it and so true!
Not so sure we have time in education for some to continue w/ previous concept while other group spends years in pilot.
A3: There is a place for student leadership - in addition to teacher leadership - with ed tech pilots.
it's great, but I can't seem to tune out completely from my passion. Thus my participation in tonight ☺
A3: Ts & Ss mostly - the front line. Implementing a tool that no one will (want to) use wastes time - no matter the benefits
Hey I see that I'm late. Story of my life.
Ducking out to eat ramen, blog, and watch wrestling. Thanks for a great 1/2 chat!
There's the rub - how to implement well so something will stick - different in each setting.
I would also add IT and students to the process. Especially the students. It's their learning!
A3 Teachers should drive it, admins support it, students give input, all stakeholders support it.
I'm lovin' the GIFs tonight!
But it's never too late to join in, right?
A3 everyone involved. Seems like that should be the answer
Working for a provider much of our most honest and influential feedback comes from students in a pilot
Awesome! Advocating for coding for all students.
Agreed! And thx for sharing the resource. I will share!
Agreed! If anyone has stories about student-driven pilots, I'd love to hear them.
Q4: What do you do when a pilot does not go as planned?
I have seen that as well, it has has to be driven by end users and clients!
Hi ! You'll appreciate: I had my son take the dimensions of our pier so he could recreate in 😊
I only believe 2/3 of that statement - no way eats ramen
Seems like if we aren't moving quickly we're falling even further behind. World is changing FAST.
And students are so often left out! Their feedback is often the most candid and helpful.
A3: What if Ss planned the pilot with Ts, then reported the results with recommendations for improvements afterwards?
A4: Reflect, discuss with Ts &/or Ss, see if it can be revamped, or needs to be ditched
I know the feeling! Being passionate about what you do.
We're glad you could join us!
Mine too, Lisa, mine too! Better late than never!
A4: Don't necessarily throw out the baby with the bath water! Use data to see what can be improved...
A4 I usually have backup contingencies. This is why we test multiple solutions
Better late than never! Q4: What do you do when a pilot does not go as planned?
A4 Much can be learned when pilots don't go well if everyone is thoughtful about unpacking what went awry.
A3: I just had a class who piloted our product where every student wrote us a feedback paragraph...it was powerful
A4: IF you haven't planned for the potential failure, then you didn't set up the pilot right. All paths give answers
Just said this very same thing. Very true!
Exactly! And they are the ones we're serving!
one student made an argument for CBE during a focus group about a math tool. Incredible insight
A4-This is what pilots are all about. We reflect either keep all parts, some parts or no parts. Maybe start over.
A4 Re-pilot? Adjust. Adapt. Or, kick the idea to the curb and move in a new direction.
Good point. Tweaks - a logical step - not abandonment. Abandonment leaves Ts feeling "what's next year's toy?
Which is why we need to focus less on current tech and more on 21st cent skillset & process w/ tech
A4: Reflect on successes & challenges... Regroup & try again. I usually blog about it, too.
A4 Just go along with it and work through it!
Well said. https://t.co/sojYdfeqtc
A4-This is what pilots are all about. We reflect either keep all parts, some parts or no parts. Maybe start over.
A4 If pilot doesn't go as planned, troubleshoot just as you would in coding. Tossing it out would send bad message to community
Q4 Figure out why: B ready 2 throw out preplanned q's, listen, adapt & change if you don't get expected a's
A4: Remember - a pilot is a test to see if something works - if it doesn't the pilot was still a success - you have an answer
A4: Again, I think students could be great resources here. They are usually ahead of many Ts in their techy thinking. :)
Great process. It it does not help students, the pilot should be on a different product.
Yes, it's much bigger than tech. But tech is necessary to do it right.
A4: be thankful it was a pilot - and reflect on take aways that will make the organization stronger
Process and pedagogy first! Tech should help us achieve our learning outcomes.
Yes, and it's worth it to uncover the why bc implementation is also a factor.
a3b How do we as Ts/As figure out the quan/qualitative info that help inform those decisions for a new ed tech pilot?
A4: After action review protocols or continuous improvement cycles throughout the pilot to ID what's + and what needs to change
A4: Is it really failure or the true outcome under intended use, perhaps just not right for the setting. No failure in trying!
A4: revisit & reflect & determine why & what could be done to improve.
A4: Should reflect & iterate on design & implementation, but also not be hesitant to move on to another tool when needed.
Jeanne! Glad you joined tonight!
A4: Reflect. Reflect. Reflect. The more all involved think, talk and write about what happened, the more we learn as a group
wouldn't it depend on how it's tossed? Maybe the tech wasn't what it was thought to be, and not what Ss needed?
A4 Use flexibility. Fall back, regroup. Get feedback from participants and LISTEN. Iterate. https://t.co/KHGUp7YVW7
Better late than never! Q4: What do you do when a pilot does not go as planned?
A4: rework, reconvene & don't give up so quickly. Sometimes ideas are jettisoned that need a chance to grow!
Had 4 4th grade Ss pitch idea of Minecraft on school. How would refuse a S in suite and tie.
A3: Depends on goals/scope of pilot
A4 smile, laugh, and keep working on it. Let the company know how to fix the issues you experienced
Good point, but tossing out the entire thing...rather be careful not to start unless some components successful
A question about GO? Aren't the people doing this burning through TONS of data ($$) on their phones? https://t.co/UDYrKaTUu6
A4 accept it, backup and punt. Failure of new tech is great time to demonstrate grit & growth mindset to Ss
A4: pilots offer time to listen and learn - if you didn't learn anything from the pilot - team needs to rethink future pilots
A2: Ss or Ts response to using it. Do they feel confused? Do they find purpose or usefulness when using? https://t.co/ndyFbBhvyv
Q2: How do you define success when piloting a new product, process or innovation?
Glad you included let the company know - it's helpful for improving products to include this step.
agreed! with tech evolving so quick, something that might not have existed may be out to solve that rework issue
Wow, I hope someone got that on video! Future leaders!
A1 this is a great idea! Testing with a small group is ideal
A4) Document, analyze fine tune and try again
Q5: How do you know what made the pilot a success (or failure), ie, the product? the implementation?
Q5 coming up in 1 minute…
You may be able to limit that. Check the settings.
moves so fast, can barely read the As when the new Qs come out, maybe Voxer has made me soft regarding Twitter chats
yes, sometimes a tool really isn't a good fit or just doesn't live up to its claims.
Thank you! It's how we improve our product without feedback we can't make it better @KatrinaStevens1
Probably. I don't play. ?
A5. Hopefully some benchmarks/goals were set up and agreed to with Ts, admins, devs prior to the pilot. Also, a control group.
A4: Admit it didn't work! Don't be afraid to say "oops"!!!! You may find unintended usefulness in it https://t.co/lPttFiyT0o
Q4: What do you do when a pilot does not go as planned?
A5 I always tinker to improve a project. See what improves and fails
A5. The reflection statements from Ss and Ts cuz 1 yr. of increased data may not be valid of true growth.
Agree. Sometimes have to move on. Now you know what does not work.
A4 Honestly, that's why I like to try free options first. Very little pressure if things don't work out.
going through this with digital portfolios.
oh yeah, it definitely uses the data.
A5: I'd say both product & implementation bc if implementation is purposeful & forms connections for Ss products will be better.
Also treat the pilot failure as a roadmap to the eventual right solution. :)
A3: Involve various stakeholders- Ss, Ts, an administrator or anyone else who will use it or be involved https://t.co/61fRbf1KWP
Q3: Who should be involved in designing and implementing a pilot?
A5) Did it achieve what it was intending to achieve? https://t.co/nAV7Hb9oA5
Q5: How do you know what made the pilot a success (or failure), ie, the product? the implementation?
A5 Is it ever truly a failure or does it just mean it does not work or your application and can it be adapted?
A5 I look at everything, relfect, ask Ss and others involved for fdbk
A5: It is always the combination of process and product and environment - no one is to blame or credit for pilot outcome
hey there and you thought I was going to use a certain tag
A5. Measuring student engagement could be 1 of the factors.
oh wow!! Thank you guys SO MUCH!
A5: For us, the number one indicator of success is if the school comes back to partner for another class!
And admitting something didn't work is good modeling for students.
We're working to create tools to help schools make better decisions about and to run effective pilots.
Very true. Understanding that if it does not work just means to do something else. Never give up and be defeated!
thanks! I've definitely had a lot of tech go south mid-implementation!
A5: A true pilot collects data. What does your data "tell" you? How useful is it? What were responses? https://t.co/BjtDCepSqa
Q5: How do you know what made the pilot a success (or failure), ie, the product? the implementation?
maybe I envy those who make an effort to do it with fidelity
Heading out early. Thanks for another great
A5: You could see if it increased student engagement or performance on formative assessments.
that cat just wants to be a dog
A4 This is where an innovative mind set comes into play. Adjust and iterate.
A5 look at the Ss achievement P feedback and ease of use by Ts responsiveness of companies is also important
A5: our "Coding Your Story" Literacy program in 1st & 2nd - Ss coding & understanding how to write.
https://t.co/USSBiRo69q
afraid I have to bow out. has wore me out today. Hope to join you next Monday--on time..:)
1st, schools have to know that not every tool or pilot is for them! Don't force a square in a circle https://t.co/HxEQ9oSrbm
We're working to create tools to help schools make better decisions about and to run effective pilots.
A5: Both qualitative & quantitative data are important here. Comparisons need to made and data needs analyzing
A5: are those involved in the pilot fully invested to the point they are willing lead for the purpose of
Expect pilots not to go as planned, otherwise you likely don't need a pilot.
I am usually the one bringing new tech tools and I subject my Ss' to them, and when they do not work, discussion
Finding out what YOU need as a community is the first key to being successful with . What others may need, you may not
A5: It has to be a combo. To be successful, you need a quality product and a process you can replicate.
heading over to Voxer group, I can keep up over there, Elementary Technology Educators, DM me your Voxer username to get added
Exactly! Context and fit are everything.
Q5 longevity - if you see it being used continuously and without extraordinary measures
agreed! A lot could be gleaned from statements and used for future endeavors/further improvements to pilot
A3 p2: Pilot intended for entire school or district should have As and Ts involved in planning
My urban setting needs tools/pilots that others would find as a poor fit. My Ss needs are different and I choose accordingly
Tweetdeck app or in browser for Twitter chats?
I agree - trend data over time
A3 p3: Too often, tools are just thrown at Ts sans PD. ie- Tech purchased for testing- we bought it, now use it
Q6 coming up in 1 minute…
agreed and what are the positive take aways
Such a good point! No one tool is the right fit for every school environment.
is now trending in USA, ranking 39
Yes, and educator experience and educational philosophy can impact choice of tools too.
don't worry will have full chat archive shortly after we finish
Q6: What plans do you have for piloting this fall?
A5 Some of both for sure. Even if the outcome wasn't great we may be able to see possibilities if the process was helpful.
A5: success often means teachers/students are excited about using the tool and data suggests it's meeting a learning goal
A4: When the pilot doesn't go as planned ☹️😭😠
Hi Tyler, happy to share more. Email katrina.stevens@ed.gov. We're looking for additional pilot sites for this fall.
As vendors we must help set strong criteria for a pilot...good implementation only comes from a good match
A5 Expect constant tweaking with anything new added, even a single lesson. There's always modifications needed.
A6 my piloting days are limited. With the maker mindset, everything is alpha learning
A6: I would like to pilot badging this fall with faculty, staff, and students - see if we can up our PD game
yes give the process time and don't settle for the next flavor of education
A4: Take it in stride. Use opportunity to learn how to implement it better. Also opp for less savvy Ts to see how you respond
A6 part a: Would love to hear also what factors are considered for the fall pilot? Meeting mandates or creative instruction?
all too often failure= bad outcome. We feel its important 2 learn what worked & what didn't so it can be adjusted.
A6: Our district created this tool for conducting edtech pilots, feel free to modify/adapt: https://t.co/EWQbOQ2vza
A6: Already in chat w about piloting Buncee for schools through classroom. Super excited!
We are going to be focused on Ss' voice but@no pilot plans so far. I will be trying in my class
I want to use digital badges for incentive/tracking of PD efforts in tech - can show of digital skills
This is AWESOME. Thanks to you and your district for sharing this process!
That's exactly what I told them. Encouraged them 2keep doing what they did.
A6: While it's not new to the scene, I've never tried & look forward to exploring this year with new set of students
A6: we are looking for schools and districts to pilot an new way to manage goals and supports for IEP students, any takers?
Only thing I would suggest is some sort of rubric for each section so there's less objective interpretation later.
My fav word is ubiquitous - to use tech just as a pencil/pen/highlighter - whatever best meets the need https://t.co/6FpBF2mwHq
thanks for a great chat! Enjoy your night!
A6: We are going to pilot Edu as a student creation/collaboration tool in project-based learning environments.
Just ran across while it was still happening! Great to see everyone. I should have joined 2 years ago! Hello
I was planning on reaching out once I can stop systems from failing this summer - HVAC, network, & Phone
A6: I would like to pilot getting really good at what we are currently doing - revisiting past practices that work
A6: I sincerely hope to expand my corporate project while also teaching knitting in communities.
Hello to . Great to join !
Sounds great! Not the system failures though 😕
Hooray! better late than never :) Welcome!
what would you use class dojo for? Behavior tracking or managing classroom?
Thanks for joining this week’s ! Don’t forget to follow your new connections from tonight!
A6 Not full pilot, but looking to test out the apps for quick S content creation this year
tonight caused me to take a minute and reflect back on pilots implemented over decades - thank you!
Piloting allows you to iterate a model or approach. Collect data, consider impacts, tweak to context & build buy-in.
Sometimes the answer isn't piloting. It's practicing or iterating. https://t.co/in6WhqxND8
A6: I would like to pilot getting really good at what we are currently doing - revisiting past practices that work
q6 I want 2 compare google hangout w Skype group chat (my students are across the country & I need to see them
I consider my teaching of to be just like learning a new technology school. The same skills apply to both.
My principal and I had this discussion this summer, we need to look back at what has been successful.
A6: I plan on working on teaching my students with disabilities how to use email this year
Thanks for a great ...inspired to check in with schools I currently have pilots in! Have a great night all!
