#WO2WorldChat is a monthly Twitter conversation for current educators and school leaders that takes place every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 8:30 PM EST. Diana DaCosta, along with 2 co-moderators from the West Orange Teacher Twitter Taskforce Team will host these monthly chats. #WO2WorldChat's mission is to promote collegiality, collaboration, and professional development beyond the confines of the traditional school day that in turn will promote the success of all students.
Hi, #WO2WorldChat! My name is Kristin Mindo. I am a resource room teacher at @RedwoodTweets I really enjoy participating in @Twitter chats in the summer! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!!
Hello #WO2World friends! I'm CarolAnn Collazo, K-LLD Teacher at Kelly Elementary! I'm looking forward to hearing all about how you go out with the old and in with the new during the summer months! #WO2WorldChat
Hi Everyone- Diana DaCosta Tech Integration Specialist- Can't wait to hear what people are letting go of and what new practices #WO2World Ts are bringing in #WO2WorldChat
A1: I decided to get rid of clutter this summer. I recycled unneccesary items that I did not use last year - pads, extra pens and pencils! How many pens and pads does one person need?! #WO2WorldChat
Q1: I did my school shopping and can't wait to get into my classroom this week to prepare for next year. Prepared all summer by reading and making connections w/ teachers. #WO2WorldChat
A1: I have been mastering the art of purging: drive files, paper files, and emails ( I am working on maintaining #InboxZero both in in personal and professional accounts thanks to @TaraMartinEDU ) #WO2WorldChat
A1: I haven't necessarily gotten rid of anything but have decided to change the texts that I use on the First 20 Days and use more picture books, images, videos and incorporate digital literacy #WO2WorldChat

A2: I love to introduce story elements to my first graders! I use the same anchor chart to help my students understand each story element! #WO2WorldChat
A2: I am so excited to begin the year with #GRA18 with the book Refugee. The connections, conversations, and global citizenship that goes along with this project is something I will continue to use in my teaching for years to come. #WO2WorldChat
A2: 100% #GRA obsessed. I would not get rid of it and am excited for it each year! I love how it is always current and pushing my teaching, thinking and mindset. I can not wait to read #Refugee this year for the #GRA18 and share the expereice with my new 5ths! #WO2WorldChat
A3: I spent a week at the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy at URI #digiuri and I can't wait to share the project I worked on: a Book Reflection blog is coming @stcloudjaguars! #WO2worldchat
A3: PD #ISTE18 & it was incredible! This year I will continue to use literacy as an avenue for change and growth through the use of advocacy and student voice! I am so excited to see how my Ss use the skills that they learn and literacy they read to move forward! #WO2WorldChat
A3: Went to #ISTE18 and learned some awesome new EDtech lessons to use with my #Geniushour class. Learned about podcasting and met some incredible educators. Will continue to push the boundaries and teach my Ss to be global citizens. #WO2WorldChat
A3: Lucky to attend #ISTE18 this summer- I want to work w/ Ts to explore opportunities to promote student voice with our Littles and intermediate Ss in authentic, relevant ways. Given the right conditions, Ss can really make a difference! #WO2WorldChat
A4: I want to track my Ss reading fluency using @Seesaw so that we can see just how much progress they have made to not sound like a robot when reading! #WO2WorldChat
A5: This year I want to improve on how I provide my Ss with feedback. I want to try to hold more 1-1 conferences and allow for more peer review and the use of authentic audiences providing the feedback. #Feedforward@cultofpedagogy no more old school feedback. #WO2WorldChat
A5: I am going to try to implement more technology this year and start it earlier in the school year, so it becomes a routine for the littles and myself! #wo2worldchat
Q5: I'm hoping to visit schools on a more frequent basis and creating a system for scheduling class visits for support. I'd also like to launch and sustain a professional blog. #WO2WorldChat
A6: I am really interested in flexible seating and setting up an area where Ss can record @Flipgrid videos. I want to have one or both set up before my Ss come in on the first day of school. #WO2WorldChat
A6: This year I purchased yoga mats for Ss to use around the room. I noticed last year that my 5ths loved laying on the ground with their devices so I thought yoga mats may work nicely. We'll see if they love them...
A6: My husband moved his office- as a result I get his standup desk! Looking forward to bringing it the office- tired of the sedentary office life! #WO2WorldChat
A7: There are a few must haves for the first day of school.. definitely a new outfit, a new water bottle, and a new lanyard for my ID badge! #WO2WorldChat
