Have fun and Merry Christmas!
Are we lurking waiting for others to come out for a today? Usually see a bunch of greets by now.
Don - Bet many of us are just slow to wake up on first day of Christmas vacation :)
5th grade teacher from Richmond, VA joining today!
Sleeping in is totally understandable, too.

Good morning! K-8 Librarian from Peabody, MA
:( How long do you get off? We have a full two weeks.
45 here but expecting to be back in the 80s in the next few days :(
A week and a half. I keep telling myself it's 2less days in June, but at some points that doesnt work
So what plans do do you have for Christmas break? Any others set goals of things to accomplish over your break?
I was tired of the "let's watch a movie" class Christmas party so I bought some paint and brushes & gave each S a canvas...
Definitely get that ... was so exhausted by the end of our day / party yesterday afternoon. Hang in!
Sorry to miss today, , decorating SHU Chapel for Christmas this morning- Merry Christmas to all!
I made myself upgrade 65 iPads to iOS 9 before I walked out. No fun there.
Love it. How much time do you have for your class party?
Yeah but sometimes it is nice knowing it is done!
That's an idea worth stealing. How did it work out?
Love doing stuff like that!
We did semester exam review on Kahoot.it-perfect!
a1: Our awesome math teacher does a weekly prayer service for each floor
it was great! We had music on and all sat together (I painted too) and enjoyed each other's company
I played the Rudolph game with 4 classes. Lots of fun! Our priest had a blast. He was determined to win.
prepare for second semester next week then relax with family beginning evening of 23rd
Erin love it! my friend has the kids paint the 2 main settings from their novel. Kids really love it
we had two hours...everyone painted at their own pace & then played games after intro'd them to Snorta - so fun!
Good for you! I am planning to slow down and pass some online tests
Tuesdays gameplan? STEM station party. ie. Design a parachute for santa, bridge for gingerbread man, etc.
Whoa ... I missed Snorta - do share
We only have an hour including feeding them. But maybe a smaller canvas?
have same item on my list as well as reading a book(s?) should it slow down over break with company.
LOVE IT!!!! May have to borrow for next year. Would you share your list?
Q2 what images of advent can you share? My friend is sharing Nativity scenes. Use hashtag to share
I have a pile of professional reading to get through. So glad to finally have a chance to get to it
What are you reading? I am always adding books to my list.

Whatever has sent me- The Motivated Brain and Questioning for classroom discussion
I think that sets up a great tone / mood for people to be creative and hang out!
This is a beautiful Advent candle set!
Did you ever figure out NCEA? Haven't tried yet
Interested to hear what's best - book-length, "Master Teacher" ,
my list contains: One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, Most Likely to Succeed by Tony Wagner, and fiction book :)
can't find where to pay I have the PO, but didn't see where to enter that information
ah, I think I get these books online now! I need to check
I like Tony Wagner! So important to have reading for fun in the mix too!
I bet. I will be sharing what you did with some of my Ts!
I have presentations to do. Doing a Google Summit in Indio late January
Yay for fiction... I was feeling like a slacker because I use the time to read non-teaching stuff.
If I got them online I would never remember to read them, plus I love getting "fun" mail!
thanks for sharing that, Missy - beautiful photo
Rick - definitely not slacking. So important to take care of ourselves in this downtime!
Thanks! Hope they enjoy it!
during the service it is a big circle in the center of the gym. 8 kids walked in 2x2 to light it.
working on level one and two tests. putting together a little group to get through them - want in?
Great idea. Gives me one for next year
there's a google summit in KC in Feb. thinking about attending.

Seems like helps you cover a lot of ground, too.
love them - do you know which Co. is doing it? I have been traveling to present at them - FUN
Definitely go! They are fantastic! KC isn't far from me. Maybe I should go too.
beginning to agree with you! I keep forgetting, though I do like ebooks :)
this is precious! Thanks, Kay
Funny- I like them for fun reading, but dont feel I focus enough w them for professional stuff
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas need to go. Post Office left an Ozobot I ordered on porch. Sadly it was taken :-(
Q3 How does your faculty celebrate Christmas? Lunch, service etc? How does it build community?
I'll check into it more, then. KC isn't far from me either.
Noooooo! Good luck getting it back. Merry Christmas!
I'll have to check and let you know.
Contacted Ozobot but now going to contact the credit card company.
Just had an inservice on Mindset and they gave us a book. I am looking forward to reading it. https://t.co/SAijVQoHou

A3 Faculty Christmas party each Dec. Board, faculty, spouses enjoy drinks, trivia, catered food
We have a party the last day before break. One of the few times we are all in the same room at the same time! Love that!
Heard good things about EdTech Team - proposing to present for them for NOLA in May
A3: We go out for lunch on the last day of school. We keep it informal.
A3: And we play the Hallelujah chorus over the PA after dismissal on the last day. It's a crowd pleaser.
Great book! Embracing a new mindset changed me as a teacher and changed how my kids work

Trivia seems to be a big deal around here. Principal included faculty category this year
bringing in tradition, family and heritage too!
OK, you've sold me -will try and go. Other things happening I'll have to work around.
If is there go to her sessions! And too!
got it! Thanks for letting me know.
Anyone else think you lose a little something when you use costumes instead of bathrobes for kings, shephers, townspeople?
Our kings are a little too fancy in their new duds.
Fun to have the kids create their own!
You lose out on innovation, creativity and adaptability?
A3: I like the idea of playing games with the faculty/staff. Builds community and reinforces "gaming" as an instr. stra.
Yeah, but I'm not sure I could handle StarWars version. Surely someone did that this year.
I've got some reading to do and then I'm heading to the 4th/5th grade basketball game. Merry Christmas to all!!
we go bowling almost once a year. It's fun to each them compete and grow to know each other.
I am sure someone did. I think we are at oversaturation on Star Wars, but our nun would not go for that !!!
my poor DH, told him I'd only be on for a bit, yet... and just got intrigued by another chat that started 20 min ago. :(
Might have to give that a try!
Off to run errands with the family. Have a great week everyone! Merry Christmas!
No one has said serve a community organization.
Much more my speed. I will have to add to my playlist.
we had some nice examples in the feed earlier
The homeless children that our F/S adopts are through a civic community organization.
Thank you and have a great week everyone.
My thought is staff get together, for teambuilding, and serve the community.
Bye all! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Don't forget to relax!
A3: One thing missing from our child adoption is that we are not yet to the point of having an "encounter" with them.
