A1 we don’t have spring practice but since I am going to a new school trying to do a lot of board work and installing drills and terminology #hogfbchat
Fundamentals and conditioning. First offseason here for the rebuild so a winter spring and summer full of weights, fundamentals and conditioning #HogFBChat
A1: establishing good work habits and locking in great technique. Won’t get nearly as upset on a blown assignment in the spring as I will bad technique and/or lazy play. #hogfbchat
A1: scheme. Learn scheme and intro some new aspects of offense. But learn, learn, learn. If don’t know scheme, can’t play fast and physical. #hogfbchat
A1: It sounds cliche but if we can get better every day I’ll be happy. I want us to get great at the basics and be confident in what we’re doing. I want them to feel great about what we are doing going into the summer. #hogfbchat
A1 I feel like spring ball is a great way to get back to the basics. Start with stances, footwork, hand placement. Spend a lot of time drilling the little things that can make your position successful #HOGFBCHAT
A1) - learning terminology changes and rules for new plays. Then getting to know each other. Who can play where. I like to play my right handed guys on the left side and my left handed guys on the right side if possible. I like to find that out in the spring #hogfbchat
A1: Missouri hasn’t caught up with the trend so we don’t have spring ball. I tell dudes to A. Play another sport B. Get Healthy C and most importantly STANCE AND STARTS!! #hogfbchat
A1) I’ll be the OC for our 9th grade team this season so I’ll be coaching QBs. My focus during spring will be observing how our varsity QB coach structures drills, finer points of technique, & getting a feel for calling plays with our 3s/4s #hogfbchat
A1: Technique is a big focus for us in the spring... No spring ball this year but still working in a lot of technique. Boards, boards, boards. Not really focused on so much scheme as we are improving our technique. Everywhere. #hogfbchat
A1: I want to see how our new guys mesh with the returners we have. After reviewing day 1 fundamentals and working through those, ideally I want to know who my starting OL/DL are going into the summer and fall camp by the end of spring ball #hogfbchat
A1: making sure our fundamentals and what we do are good. This spring we are looking to install a new scheme so trying to make sure I’m good before we coach the kids #hogfbchat
A1-Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals! I teach my guys like they don't know anything. From introduction, to how to hold a football (I coach RBs), stance, catching, ect... #hogfbchat
A1. Back to the basics. Make sure the stance is perfect. We work drive/catch every day. Focus on the details in the footwork and engaging the hips. Lastly, communication #hogfbchat
A1: First, getting new guys comfortable with each other, build trust, competitiveness and a develop each players individual Edge! Second is getting the rust off all aspects of Offensive Line play. #HogFBChat
Q1: What is your main focus for your position during Spring Practice? A2: Bread and Butter lots of FUNdamentals and understanding of assignments #hogfbchat
A1: We don’t have “spring ball” in Illinois but we get to go most of the summer. Main focus for OL is getting their fundamentals (stance/start, fits, feet, etc.). Next is install of the basics of the offense. #hogfbchat
A1. No spring practice for us. No official sprig ball in PA. Some guys do work outs 7/7 stuff like that. Small school and have like 80% of our guys in spring sports. Not to mention it just stop snowing here like 2 days ago. #hogfbchat
A1- Spring was always about basics. Take the things that we talked about in the gym and on the whiteboard and work on them with their pads on. #hogfbchat
A1: QB’s are only position we work with during spring. Footwork, throwing mechanics, how the R4 system fits into our passing game, and film work. Everyone else just getting bigger faster and stronger in weight room. #hogfbchat
A1: No spring practice. But if we had it, would be great time to teach fundamentals (stance, start, zone concepts) and expand returners playbook knowledge #hogfbchat
A1) fundamentals and scheme that we will use for summer team camps. We will film and coach the fundamentals all summer based off of what we get in during spring #hogfbchat
A1: Interesting question here for me. Since it just opened last year, this is the first spring for our feeder school (Katy Paetow). I’m just trying to continue learning my position groups to bring what the high school does to my JH kids this fall #hogfbchat
A1: Just about all the committed lineman are here and haven’t missed so that makes things nice. A lot of our skills are in other sports competing #HogFBChat
A1. We have "open season" practice so we have been abke to get alot done already... but start from the beginning with fundamentals and technique #hogfbchat
A1. we don't have spring ball, but the first things I always want to emphasize are stance and start: coming off the ball. Chest on the knee, elbows pinched at side and 6" step. #hogfbchat
A1: Build depth, protect and spread the culture, be the best technicians we can be, build the brotherhood and continue to equip our leaders how to face adversity and excel #hogfbchat
Coach Walz, RPO Coordinator, @AnkenyHawkFB and co-host of @RunThePower podcast with @harper_coach I love this profession, and I love this brotherhood. Go to battle with you dudes anytime! #hogfbchat
A1cont: Are we considering camp “spring ball”? In that case its stance and starts, fundies, reps of our basic plays, align and assign, and building cohesion and trust along with depth. My guys will know all 5 positions and what each one does, along with footwork. #hogfbchat
A1: for the OL to begin the mastery process of stance, drive-catch, and fit-finish in run blocking. Hope for group is to start to fall in love with the process of getting better and working hard together #hogfbchat
A1: Block destruction, leverage, eye discipline, and agility. Drill circuits that were emphasized the above but were position specific were the driver of the whole thing
A1: Going to a new school, it's going to be about establishing culture, attitude, work ethic, & that nasty OL mentality. All of this while teaching fundamentals & a new scheme. #hogfbchat
A1: Terminology, installations, how we will practice this summer, and finally fundamentals and "catchphrase" coaching cues. I've been trying to really streamline my coaching cues on field...make it even simpler. #hogfbchat
A1: We have to gel as a unit. Lost 2 starters but every returner saw significant playing time. This spring is key for us going into a tough district this fall. #hogfbchat
A2 pretending like I have it haha I would install base offense and any new tweaks to see how they look and see if they are worth to take into summer #hogfbchat
A2) we do a lot of classroom time since we can’t practice. And going over the rules. Having rules instead of schemes is hard work at first, but once they know them it’s a lot easier. #hogfbchat
A2: this year since we are installing a new scheme, show them a big picture of the idea of the play, then give them a visual of how we need to block, finally drill, drill, drill it. #hogfbchat
A2) Since we are installing a totally new O, we ironed out some plays we think will be successful. See which stick and only focus on them through the summer and into the season. #hogfbchat
A2: single wing so install isn’t huge up front. I’m more developing skills with specific positions and getting others more versatile. With a lot of our skills in other sports install is very minimal at the moment #HOGFBCHAT
A2: for Runs i have a ZONE day and a GAP day. IZ/OZ and drills i use to teach them. Power/Counter and drills i use to teach them. Inside run/team plays always match up with indy. We work pass pro drills daily... base out of half slide and work that all spring daily #hogfbchat
A2: used to categorize daily by concept and then layer the installation week by week. Going from basic to complex.also a big fan of how Leach does it.
#hogfbchat
A2–Coordinating with the HC from week to week on what he wants installed, i.e. having the proper progression based on our offense from the bread and butter to our complex concepts. #hogfbchat
A2: We again have no spring ball in Missouri . During this time we have coaches meetings where we go over summer ball and install. Would love to have spring ball in this state #hogfbchat
A2: speaking for how I WOULD install in the spring. More focused on base schemes rather then bunch of formations and wrinkles ( I’m big formation guy) stay base, prep for our D front and what our most common D front seen will be. Only have 5 run schemes and 3 pass pros #hogfbchat
Yeah, man! It’s kinda nice. Kids from all over come in and get work in. And I don’t mess with their high school coach’s technique. I may adjust a few things that won’t cause a stir (like stance). But I generally teach what they teach. #hogfbchat
A2 I'm sensing a theme here. IF we had spring ball (you bastards) I would set up the first three days as our usual fall install. Zones, pins/gaps, Power. Day 4 and 5 would be new stuff and wrinkles. Then start it all over. Just like fall. #hogfbchat
A2: slowly but thoroughly and efficiently. 1st week - IZ/OZ and all tags associated. 2nd week - man/gap schemes and all tags associated, RPO’s. Split different pass pros through the two weeks. #hogfbchat
A2) Whatever base runs, passes, and screens the OC decides to emphasize for spring install. When we get our rising 9th graders in over the summer I’ll evaluate the talent and choose simplest schemes we can execute well and with tempo #hogfbchat
A2: I think I would want to get more in detail about the how's and whys of the run plays we are going to run. Why run IZ/OZ, why run Gap schemes. A lot of athletes want to know what they are doing and how they are a part of it #hogfbchat
A2) We don’t have spring practice so all of our work is done during summer camp. Install is slightly more condensed. If this talk is mostly centered around spring practice I’ll be taking a back seat tonight and taking notes! #hogfbchat
A2: Emphasis on our 4 base run plays (IZ, OZ, Power, Counter) and base pass protections. Oline needs to know all base schemes after camp before practice starts! #HOGFBCHAT
A2: at my old school we would install based on concept. Example, our IZ and OZ steps and assignments are the same. Only thing that changed was the aiming point for the back. So we taught both in the same day. Counter and power, for us, had similar blocking. Same thing #hogfbchat
A2: since we have so many coming back, we already have an idea of what our kids do well, so we start with our base plays, and hopefully add a few more tools to the tool box. We also make any changes that we decided to make from last year in the spring #hogfbchat
A2: We start with our four core runs and basic passing game in the first week. We'll expand from there. We'll include our new implementation slowly but have everything installed by week 3 of the spring. #hogfbchat
A2 install the base stuff and make sure we are fundamentally sound. Don't want to throw a whole lot at them during the spring. Make sure we are great at the bread and butter stuff #HOGFBCHAT
A2. Pick the top runs/passes/screens. First three days we stayed in the classroom before hitting the field. We had one run for each of the first 4 days. Fifth day we review and evaluate how we feel going forward #hogfbchat
A2cont: we start by drawing it on the board. Then the players will draw it against a base front and various fronts. Then we will walk it at practice. Then we will shift the front and throw in blitzes and walk it. Then we will rep the hell out of it. #hogfbchat
A2: I try to install 1 run scheme, 1 protection, and 1 screen per day. After 3-4 days the base of everything is in. Next time thru add tags and different formations for the same stuff we already installed. #hogfbchat
I like this. If you can get them to understand "why" they are doing their assignment and how it fits into the entire play, they are better able to react to what they see in front of them on Fridays. #hogfbchat
A2: we are installing IZ first, along with an RPO tag off of it, and our quick game protection. We'll see how we handle this before moving onto something else.
#hogfbchat
Everything builds off concepts before it. Scaffolded teaching/learning. Start with the stalwarts and expand. Leave the last week "empty" to slow things down if need be, or get to new/experimental things if all is going well #hogfbchat
As the DC i want our guys to come out of spring with knowledge of our base D & 1 check. Also make sure alignment & assignment are clear. Spend a lot of time working on our run fits & half skell during this time with our base coverages #HogFBChat
A2: (cont.) schemes: power/counter/ pull schemes, OZ, IZ (through veer in here even though we block some opposite), ISO schemes, midline. Pass pros - Half slide, sprint out, PAP. #hogfbchat
As the DC i want our guys to come out of spring with knowledge of our base D & 1 check. Also make sure alignment & assignment are clear. Spend a lot of time working on our run fits & half skell during this time with our base coverages #HogFBChat
A2) based on what we want to see and where we want to create competition throughout the summer. We will install scheme that lets us know the most about our players and gives them the opportunity to compete heading into fall camp. #hogfbchat
A2: I tried to pare it down to 3-4 days, and then continuously repeat it. Teach the RULES of plays first. Then fine tune it as you go along. With as many reps as possible. Pass game was easy...usually had that installed in Jan/Feb. #hogfbchat
A2: first three days are tryouts, we only get 10 total days this year so we are doing an O install week, focusing on three plays And getting them down pat #hogfbchat
A2: I would like for us to be in our base alignments, be able to check and to be able to hit their aiming points and finally start getting to play fast. #hogfbchat
A3-Last season was mostly our passing game to get ready for summer 7 on 7. This season I expect us to refine it with a little run/screen stuff mixed in #hogfbchat
A3: Defensively, we will work on our base sets and coverages to certain formations and work on auto checks. Not going to be very in depth. Got to get their feet wet. #hogfbchat
We have 9 practices and a game here in Georgia. We will try to get 3-4 runs and 3-4 passes for the game. Then we have the summer for rest of install.
#hogfbchat
A3: I don’t like to put a percentage on it. With a veteran team you may be a little farther along if their aren’t major changes, a young team you may only get like 10% in, which is ok, if they know what they are doing. #hogfbchat
A3) - for OL I’d say we put in 80-85% of our stuff in “open gym/classroom” setting. The other is stuff that we add in season. I like for our entire playbook to be in as soon as summer starts so I don’t have to teach as much, it’s about R&R. (Reps and Repeat) #hogfbchat
A3 Again, we don't have spring ball in MI, but will have a team camp first week of summer. We will install all of our core concepts of run/pass/screen. We'll add some tags but probably wait until August to add RPOs, packaged plays and game plan tags. #hogfbchat
A3: Base personnel groupings, base formations, and base run/pass schemes. Stressing more so fundamentals, technique and an understanding of the system rather than quantity. #HOGFBCHAT
A3: more of just playing with stuff we’ve learned at camps/brainstormed to see what we like and don’t like. Get an idea of what the young guys moving up are capable of #HogFBChat
A3 Luckily, our system is pretty simple. We really only have 5 or 6 run plays and 5 or 6 pass concepts so install is pretty easy and the guys catch on quick to our base stuff. We usually have our whole playbook installed and ready by day 4 of fall camp. #hogfbchat
A1: Main focus for me is seeing who is gonna make the jump, also excited about seeing our young bucks for the first time. Keep the focus tight on technique and make a little music with some nastiest. #hogfbchat
First ACTUAL Spring practice coming up. Last year, HC was in transition of moving schools. But I think it won’t be more than 70%. Learn the basics first, also because a majority of starters (non line) are in baseball #HOGFBCHAT
A3: I would say we probably get 50-70% in the option depending on how quickly they grasp things, in the spread I’d say we averaged around 50% because we would add formations and plays when necessary as we went over summer and fall as well. Especially Formations #hogfbchat
A3: If it we’re me... 100% of our SCHEMES should be in. Unless we are choosing to not run iso/mid. Spring ball, to me, is the time to install your base, bread and butter, What were going to be about. I can window dress that stuff after scheming up defenses in season. #hogfbchat
I like to let all the other coaches lead the way with their fancy new ideas. Come practice ~ 6 back to the basics of power and trap with maybe some new looks
#HogFbChat
Q3: How much of your system do you install during Spring Practice? A3: All base runs, plays, formations. Testing out young guys and experiment a bit #hogfbchat
A3: 90%; looking back, I think I would install Man, Zone, and Gap scheme runs on first day. Why not? They are going to make mistakes anyway, and I don't want them "forgetting" the other plays if you are only focusing on 1-2 a day. Start teaching the rules early! #hogfbchat
A1 want our guys to work on going to the whistle. Really this is more about holding them accountable play in and play out. Something I want to improve on. #HogFBChat
A3: We install 80% of our pass scheme (and rep in 7on7), 50% of our run scheme, but none of our screens. Try to focus on "teach a little, use it a lot" install philosophy #hogfbchat
A3. It’s different for every team. Install what your team can be successful and run well. There is no reason to install plays for the sake of installing. Your kids have to know and execute what they are doing. #hogfbchat
A3: in the past we got through most of our playbook. However, this year I’m not sure as I’m with a different school. Going public and saying that I’m officially going to be the Varsity OL coach for @centralrockets in Burlington, IL. #hogfbchat#FISTfootball#RocketUp 🚀
Just our top 3 run plays, 3 basic pass plays and how to block them against our Defensive front and against the next most common front we see during the season #hogfbchat
A3: as an OL coach, I'd rather have 85% of my run game inserted knowing (as a HS coach) I only have 2-3 pass protections that have fewer exceptions in their rules. #hogfbchat
A2: I want to be really good at basic principles of my position. I beleive that you build off of your core, and to do so you must have great stances, starts and power angles. #hogfbchat
A3) We Install a lot during spring, the vast majority of our plays and checks off of those plays. Makes it easier to recall in the season when we get certain looks or situations. #HogFBChat
A3: Almost all of it. The things we hang our hat on for sure. A couple new concepts each spring to improve on the previous year after self scouting #hogfbchat
A3 we don’t have spring football but do have a chance to work with our junior high program. We use this as an opportunity to teach the base scheme:
Bucksweep
Power
Counter F
Jet sweep
#HogFBChat
A3) it changes each year based on the kids and Depending on how much we need to see throughout the summer. Usually pretty basic, 2-3 run schemes, and by the end of summer and 7on7, all of the passing game is in. #hogfbchat
A2: These conversations are happening now for next JH season. We want to get really good at a a handful of major concepts from the high school. We want success on the field, but ultimately we want to set the foundation for what these guys will do in the next 4 years #hogfbchat
I like this idea, but it’s always tough to balance how much to throw at a young guy without overwhelming them. I’m shooting for teaching 3 (2 run, 1 pass pro) concepts the first week of the season and building from there #hogfbchat
A4. We will have groups. 1st group is offense 2nd group is defense. And we will rotate the groups after each play so everyone gets equal reps. #hogfbchat
Try to run two groups if possible. One with older guys you can be more technical with and a younger group so that they can learn and begin to gel #hogfbchat
A4: they are separated by 2 different color jerseys. And they flip from day to day. Only “dudes” are specialized, all others are evaluated throughout Spring #hogfbchat
A4: the cream always rises to the top through reps & conditioning. I try not to run anyone off in the spring. U never know what kind of summer they will have. #hogfbchat
A4: we try and get guys in, we need to know, are they varsity guys or jv guys. We work them as though they will be varsity guys and let them separate themselves out. #hogfbchat
A4: when I was a SA at The University Of Missouri, the staff defenitley emphasized reps for the younger guys and scout team guys. Also had a lot of competition drills. Defenitley showed character #hogfbchat
A4 In case you haven't read any of my tweets, we don't have spring ball. Also, we usually only have around 60 kids in the program every year. If we had spring ball with that many guys, we would teach our asses off and get everyone better. Reps on reps on reps #hogfbchat
A4: I do my best to make sure everyone gets reps with everyone else so I can have an idea of who works well with who and what combos work well #hogfbchat
A4: this is going to HUGE for us this year. Half of the line is back, half is gone. Got some really solid kids who COULD do it but waiting to see who rises to the top. So basically I’m lurking on this one 🧐 #hogfbchat
A4. For us, everyone gets the same amount of reps. Coaches evaluate the practice so every day is a chance to compete. We want to see who can set themselves apart before we come back in August #hogfbchat
A4: we have team A and team B. We tried to make them as equal as possible. I have an idea of 2 guys that will share reps with the ones in each group. With the twos I do the same thing. In my opinion you earn your team reps in Indy. I’ve always felt that way! #hogfbchat
A4: The spring is gonna be used to knock the rust off of my older guys. I have a good group of youngsters that are gonna be fighting for 2 spots. There will be plenty of reps for everyone. #hogfbchat
A4 I want everyone to get reps. Spring ball is a great time to see what you have. I'd like everyone to get equal reps, and have an equal opportunity to prove themselves at their position. #HOGFBCHAT
A4: we’re moving some guys around, couple that with some good JV players wanting to make that jump to the big Boy ball on Friday night, we’ll have plenty of kids working for reps, so hopefully everyone gets the most out of their reps #hogfbchat
The worst part of the chute drill isn't the chute itself, it's what the coaches punish you with if you hit it. I'm convinced offensive line coaches love to watch their guys sweat. #hogfbchat
Q4: How do you plan to share reps during spring to try and find players that can contribute? A4: mass drills, multiple huddles and lineman challenges #Hogfbchat
A4-I know what our 2 upperclassmen can do. I can't wait to see what the young guys can do. I chart reps with the plays to put them a position to succed #hogfbchat
A4: i like to make groups based on numbers. If I can make 3 groups or 4 groups, high five! Then we would alternate reps. Later in camp I’d start grouping them with the guys they’re going to play with and throw in guys with those groups. #hogfbchat
A4: all Indy work gets rotated each rep anyway. During team I like to have 2 completely different groups running on Air simultaneously (running same exact plays off of a script).
2s staggered safely behind 1s... they run play right after so they can watch 1s n learn #HogFBChat
A4: Unless I’m going in blind I have an idea of who belongs where. Naturally 1s and 2s get more pops. Really try to focus on the reps the other guys do get. Always evaluate when a kid is working. I mean... that’s my job? Cream always rises, just have to look for it. #hogfbchat
A:3 Less than 50% I like using it to sharpen the basics and experiment a lil bit. Create some on field excitement to carry through the summer into the season
@CoachDingus@HogFbChat#hogfbchat
A4: We look at spring as a time for everyone to learn. It's more about honest evaluation and where guys stand before and after, and moving towards August. Rep the hell out of everyone you can. FILM EVERYTHING #hogfbchat
A2: as up-tempo no-huddle O, everything is designed to minimize analaysis/overthinking for OL, to keep focus on execution, violence, explosion & hi-speed movement. Spring OL install is 1 base run scheme & pass pro. Belief in "teach a little, use it a lot" philosophy #hogfbchat
Inside zone, one back power, one back dart day 1. I think you would have a bunch of carryover, and you would teach the rules of those plays day 1. Base blocks, double teams, combos, and pulls. Teach 1 protection. I seriously don't think it would be that difficult. #hogfbchat
A1: first year getting to actually teach the defense in the spring and I want to slow down and perfect stance, keys, hand use, and coverage ability. I want to install but not as much as I want to perfect technique and see what I have #hogfbchat
A3: We are EXTREMELY fortunate in that our youth program's coaches run our base O and D. For the most part our dudes come into the HS program with solid foundations. We clinic w/the youth coaches, and hang out at least 1 day a week to attend their practiced in season #hogfbchat
We will have 3 to 4 huddles and allow each huddle multiple plays in a row and then rotate. We work fast to the line and in between plays. We do stop and teach on the spot during the spring. In the fall we use film to diff mistakes and coach on the move. #hogfbchat
A4: As many huskies as possible. Returners learn as many positions as possible. New guys learn on position going into summer and learn it well. #hogfbchat
Let the guys we know can play workout at other positions on the other side of the ball. I think the most important aspect of spring is identifying those guys who could help you in the fall and allow them to take a lot of live scrimmage type reps. #HOGFBCHAT
A4. Everybody gets reps in indy, group and team. I'm looking for athleticism but also effort and coach-ability. I believe in seniors getting reps with 1st team until someone takes it from them. #hogfbchat
A3: as much as possible without losing ability to teach fiber points. This is a great time to find out who can do what and TEACH the defense and techniques you want. #hogfbchat
If I had the privilege to coach an Offensive Line in Spring Ball, I’d be teaching to work through Angles by using a sound Stance, Force Thru the Ground, Drive & Brace thru the i/s borders of the feet & Dominating the point of attack with elbow-hip marriage & violence. #hogfbchat
A4: got to throw those guys in the rotation and let them prove themselves. Through the offseason, you hope to equip them with the tools to go out and play confident, so you hope to see that when you put them in the rotation at multiple positions #hogfbchat
A4: This time for me is more about finding the right chemistry - 'the magic' in my 1st 5. then I look for position flex in backups. We're a small school and we platoon - depth is always a problem so from 6 to 10 position flex is crucial. #hogfbchat
A4: I already know what most starters can do. I want to see what some others can do and can they be plugged elsewhere to see if they can help there. It's not a 1st team 2nd team time it's a get in where you fit in time. #hogfbchat
I dont use chutes. I think they are good in theory if every player was the same height but too many variables to make it good in actual practice. Not helpful for short guys and it creates bad habits for tall guys. #HogFBChat
Have to say kudos to you guys with the #hogfbchat Love sitting back watching you O-Line guys talk ball! Just know I’m a wanna be O-Line coach deep down inside btw Coach OC/QB coach at North Shore H.S. #olineinheart#hogfbchat
A4: cont. Also filming practice helps. I usually spend 3 to 5 minutes in the evening for every 1 minute of practice time evaluating film/personnel #hogfbchat
A1: This is the first year we’ll have Freshmen with us during spring, and we have a lot of sophomores on the line, so my goal is to make sure everyone is learning the fundamentals and terminology. #hogfbchat
We’d like to thank our official sponsor GameStrat! They provide teams with the most reliable and advanced sideline replay system. Check them out https://t.co/zXhCj3xzd2@GameStrat_#Hogfbchat
A1. Every position starts with stance and start. Hands and feet are our big spring focus. Still mostly juniors, so we need the reps. Past that, got a couple of “suspects” that need their question mark filled with a ✅ or an❎ #HogFBChat
Great question. I began the dead ball snap this offseason. I’m letting them choose what they’re comfortable with. Most prefer the dead ball now #HogFBChat
A1: No spring ball so I meet with position groups. Focus always starts with the most basic movements. Stance, stance, stance then start to break it down one step at a time #hogfbchat
A2: Main focus schematically in the spring is getting guys to understand the why of our scheme. Why do we run it. What is the goal and what makes it work. How will people try to stop it. I think the players understanding these concepts helps them adapt down the road #hogfbchat
A3: Again with no spring ball a lot of teaching goes on in the weight room. Try to make players understand the movement of their position and how it relates to what they’re doing. Hip, knee, ankle flex ion etc. Big on posture. Scheme is usually done in small groups #hogfbchat
A4: One good thing working in groups rather than team is reps are pretty unlimited lol. A lot of teaching gets done. Just have to be flexible with my schedule and dedicated with time #hogfbchat
