The #2PencilChat is a weekly conversation about educational technology. As we enter a more student-centered age, let's talk about using all the tools in our toolboxes to be innovative and dynamic teachers.
Welcome to the #2PencilChat! Some of you are done for the year, and some of you are hanging on by a thread! Let's get our merriment on! Introduce yourself, and say hey!
Q1 What's the most bananas thing that's happened in your classroom/realm this month? Orrrr, what's the most heartwarming thing that happened in your classroom this month?

A1: Seeing my older students take younger students under their care and protection. Elementary students are naturally filled with love and little to no hate!! #2PencilChat#LeadLAP#tlap
A1 I found a school that pumped Christmas music in their hallways. I am not the biggest Christmas music fan but it was cool to hear music in the hallway. #2pencilchat

Hi #2PencilChat Friends. Carol ELA Consultant from Long Island trying to get ready for the holidays and finish up on the design of my global gallery, #AutumnAblaze.
I hope everyone takes a look at my global gallery of artistic expressions that I will be unveiling soon and then decide to join me for my winter gallery. #2PencilChat
A2: So many places but I would say NY during the winter. So many of our students haven’t experienced a big city or have seen snow. It would be great to see their faces as they explored. #2PencilChat
A3 Unfortunately, budgets for school trips are being cut so teachers need to be creative to give their students the gift of new experiences. #2PencilChat
A2: This might seem a little odd, but I would ‘gift’ my kids with a trip to the local food bank...they could gain a deeper appreciation for a more ‘global’ world where ‘struggle’ is a reality and learn how we can help! #2PencilChat
A2 I said that too Sean because imagination is free. I saw an ESL teacher taking her children on the Mayflower voyage by having them stand in a small crowded space and rocking back/forth before reading the story. #2PencilChat
A3: We could listen to the soundtrack and look at pictures and pretend we are at Hamilton. Other than us getting a mysterious benefactor we would never actually be able to go. #2pencilchat
A3 a bit of green screen magic and some enchanting storytelling would create an out of this world adventure. Real time visits with astronauts would be paramount. #2PencilChat
Many of us come from a place of abundance and I am one who often takes this for granted. I want to help my students understand that “to those who much has been given, much is expected.” #2PencilChat
Q4
A mysterious benefactor has given you $100 to surprise your coworkers with a nice treat in the staff lounge. What do you do to brighten everyone's day?

A5: I hope to get some R&R but will also try to spend as much time as I can with my mom. Time to reenergize my batteries and prep for Semester 2! #2PencilChat

In my head, you are a cartoon, even though I remember the human version, I can totally see the cartoon version of you that my mind's eye has invented(adapted?) when I think of you.
