A4: A meditation practice will help you increase your happiness baseline! The Ananda app by Chopra is one of my favs. Along with the Calm app, which is free for teachers! #nyedchat#happiness
A4: And also in the top 5 habits is exercise. For me, I'm high strung, so I run 30 miles per week and that increases my baseline. But any kind of movement will work! Dance, walk, bike, yoga, etc. #nyedchat#happiness

Selects a meditation for you based on you feel mentally and physically. I like using this while commuting.

A4 I’m a believer in Glasser’s Choice Theory - we can choose an emotional frame or state. Happiness comes from looking at the world through an asset frame/ looking for and finding value around us #NYEDChat
And so now you see the power of our words is so important. For example, what about a manifesto for your classroom? Something you recite daily with your students since words turn into beliefs? #nyedchat#happiness
I find that surrounding myself with positive happy people creates a more joyful atmosphere for me. When I was in the classroom it made a huge difference when I began class in a positive way! Greeting Ss at door, high fives, how r us, fist bumps. It’s contagious! #NYEDChat
A4 So many naysayers out there. To paraphrase Mr. Rogers “look for the helpers: the people who are joyful. the people who smile and share the wonders in the world.” #NYEDChat

A5 I think most Ts have a tendency to be humble to the point of devaluing their own work. Sometimes my thinking of what can I do better leads to I'm not doing enough. I think we value our work by celebrating the wins, even the small ones. Lifting up others helps. #nyedchat
