we feel by the QB communicating the play to the OL it allows us to snap the ball 7-10 sec faster

how many different tempos do u run & what are they?
-
What are some drill examples you try to do every day?
-
Zach Schneider OC Battle Ground Academy Franklin Tn
-
Michael Keel OL Mansfield Legacy
-
What is the expectation for the OL from the end of the play to set up for the next?
-
yes the qb communicates that to the OL but zone is called differently now
-
how do you help OL recognize fronts/alignments at fast tempo? DLine misalignments, junk fronts etc?
-
Gabriel Garcia RB/TE Texas Lutheran University
-
What steps have you guys taken to improve or change culture at SMU

what rules is your QB using in your NASCAR set coach...main keys
-
thoughts on unbalanced lines? Personally I think it's a great idea for us teams without great blocking tightends (put him weak)
-
we run 3-4 diff tempos mostly trying to go 1 word tempo calls
-
are they communicated by the QB as well?
-
we work all our RG footwork on towels, cone set with resets, and our hands in pass pro everyday
-
Deveon McKinney | Cypress Ranch HS | Houston, TX
-
CoachSorrells If you only could use 2 run plays vs OKie Front (3-4) what would they be?
-
In a typical weekly game plan, how many total plays will you bring into a game?...Are you like Mazzone with 25?
-
give an example of what a call would be at the line to the lineman for the play
-
Unbalanced lines great if D consistently misaligning especially when shiftibg to it...numbers in option game
-
find the football ASAP, set there feet, see def structure, hear the call
-
Are you in a 2 point stance every play? Do they have the same split for every play?
-
Do you stress communication across the ol every play?
-
doesn't give them time to think, which means they won't over think. That's why I love the tempo!
-
4 down is our default front front so if the center doesnt ID the front they know its 4 down.
-
What gives u more problems a dline starting head up & slanting 2 their gap or shaded 2 certain side & occasionally slant oppo
-
and we have a unique way we rep our base schemes vs pressure so we get alot of reps
-
Brian Shacochis
Assistant Coach (RBs)
Marshfield HS
Marshfield, MA
-
We are so fortunate to have on our staff. is going to get some OL knowledge tonight.
-
Do you mind explaining how you rep this?
-
really trying to make our guys comfortable being uncomfortable and get are guys to adapt to any situation
-
anything you "hate" seeing by the defense? Front/Stunt/Coverage?
-
be loud with communication and and get the ball set
-
Travis Smith
AHC/OC
Douglas Co. HS
Host
-
we really like it in P&10 situations and our fire alarm package
-
does the center or the qb say the snap count?
-
-
-
-
What is the most unique thing that you guys do at practice, at SMU?
-
coach when you talk tempo up front and if your signaling how many true signalers do you use do you find signaling ol helps ?
-
depends on the type of okie 5's/4is. base okie tight zone with attached te and wide zone esp with 4is
-
This is a great question! I think has a great approach to how they do things! https://t.co/EEqRkVfHX4
-
-
What is the most unique thing that you guys do at practice, at SMU?
-
a little more than 25. we spend alot of time on p&10 situations and landmarks on the field
-
guards in 3 pt & OT in 2 pt unless TE attached
-
communication is huge. communication is key to a healthy relationship
-
-
-
4is give us the most problems. slant games not as much bc we belive we can gap them out
-
is on fire! keep the Qs coming!
-
is on fire! keep the Qs coming!
-
Do you consider 2 4i's a bear front or a 3 4 and if you do does it change your rules for zone plays
-
how do you work on conditioning with OLine in offseason?
-
just have blitzes/stunts and scout guys know we are going 1 to 8

Great to see this chat going global!
-
this spring has been doing mat drills in practice & going straight into o vs d so they have to compete when they are tired
-
There are a few coaches from other countries as well! Great to see coaches around the world networking and learning.
-
at our level multiple but I believe you can get it done with one with the OL is not looking for signal
-
P&10 is possession and 10. Many people will be different on p&10 from 1&10
-

-
Great idea! Compete when you are gassed, time to dig deep!
-
what is your favorite 11 Personnel RPO play? Why?
-
thats the aim, network and learn wiht the aim of getting over to the States to be a coach!
-
we do depending on how the overhangs are playing. it changes bc we can change the combos post snap on the run based on movement
-
yes our strength staff does a tremendous job with that
-
We couldn't agree more. Great communication makes for perfect practice and a winning season.
-
P&10 change of possession 1st play of drive
-
capped inside zone with speed out to field acces throw to boundary bc tired of WR not blockiing on bubble and getting 2 yds
-
love this! Make them focus when they're tired, no excuses!
-
if i miss any questions please ask me again
-
Love it, show me how a player competes when they're tired, and I'll show you Gameday https://t.co/UwSWWBVYJq

-
-
tips on running outside zone at hs where you can't cut block?
-
-
I just posted a pic of the scout sheet we will give all scout guys tomorrow for walk thru
-
-
shuffle footwork OC & PS OL. dont muddy the read be resetting leverage on defenders.
-
-
based on game plan things we feel we can out flank the defense in a hurry with formations the have trouble aligning to
-
What stunts or blitz patterns give you problems example 2 from outside
-
any tips/drills to rep inside zone in practice
-
in a 10 min walk through with the OL we feel like we steel an extra 40-50 reps with the way we set it up
-
Do you only put the top 8 stunts on the scout sheet?
-
read twist/stunt games on zone & SS/Sam field scrape (ss/sam ncaa)
-
work your footwork everyday and your pod combos with movement. i like pre-fit/working to the fit of the combo in pre-practice
-
yes. it really helps during game week as well. dont feel like we need to put normal looks on them
-
If you have a few more questions, feel free to fire away! has a little more time!
