Got it! My Ss seem to ❤️blogging while I blog! They see there is still a purpose for it and I enjoy it.
A2 For me, I like notebooks, and I really love the square notebooks that they give out as promos.
A2: I used brown, industrial, paper towel roll for a plot line of events once (LOL)
A2: all that other stuff... notebooks or sketchbooks
That's a good way to get your writing time in!
Office supplies and books......I could spend a fortune.

A2 reminder notes end up in my notes page on my phone, sticky notes 4 Ss go on my clipboard, and MUST READ notes go on my hand!

A3: the sky is the limit.....I am pretty open-minded (paint, glue, stickers, glitter, yarn, construction paper, canvases)
A3 I love a good paper cutter
A3. Scissors (esp. ones with fun shapes), shape punches, hole punches, yarn, cardboard, glue, etc.
the 1st time I saw a long-armed stapler I was like, anything is possible!
I covered a hallway bulletin board w/ white project roll paper. Labeled it Graffiti Board. All write, doodle as they walk by.

I covered a hallway bulletin board w/ white project roll paper. Labeled it Graffiti Board. All write, doodle as they walk by.
this is so up your alley!
+1 on Paper Cutter! (I have the dangerous kind...)
absolutely, writing on hand if I must remember!
a few boards in my room have wrapping paper as a background and have been super fun looking
Come on in! The water's nice here!
Went shopping yesterday. There will be 7 analog maker kits hitting my room this week. (Will post pics)
Hi Laurie joining from FL. Had to finish dinner. Porkchops and applesauce.
Hey L-Boogie! A full family is a happy family!
I mean, oh, gosh, I hope you're okay!
But still, funny!
My 10s had ittybitty notebooks for their Haiku month project... Many jealous oohs & ahs from other classes
A4. The pens from answer 1 will not be shared w/Ss! My Ss like to create w/whatever they can find.
A4: I admit...my room is their room.....there really isn't anything they can't use. LOVE my sharpies.
check out !! They have smens too!
A4 My students love using my markers. I wouldn't hoard them if they were responsible with the caps and surfaces...
A4 this might be basic but smelly markers... They love them but I don't like sharing
Chris from PA coming in late. It's been too long for me at .
A4: Markers are always a big hit, as is anything involving glitter and glue.
Smencils are like CRACK to my kids!
They do have to ask for pencils because Ss seem to eat them (or something) and I never see them again......
They can have the smelly markers. I can't stand them!
Hey Chris! Glad you're here!
A4: I hate sharing my sharpies. I love all of the beautiful colors. My kids love any kind of markers
A4: My Flairs are off limits! 😂
Mine love them too! 1st thing they will ask for. They know where I keep them.
Hey Anne-Marie! And you're totally right about Notes!
They love to SMELL them as well.
They even know where I hide them. "WHERE did you get that?" "It was in your locked cabinet..."
anyone remember when they first came out--the fruit flavors & they didn't last long.
Yeah, I don't really have a specific reason why. It's weird!
A4: I do have an amazing eraser that is off limits.....they don't seem to want it anyway.
Ss have access 2anything in the rm. They know they can go in drawers &cabinets 2get what they need 2create.
A4: cutting & pasting is good (a lot of found poetry & modified blackout work
Exactly! What are you doing? Getting markers. (goes through all drawers)
I love going to art supply stores and getting pencils & markers for them. The colors are wonderful!
I'm good with them using anything responsibly...
A3a Students plus colored duct tape equal forever love.
Crack, you are right! They love them!!
We had a great time making wallets one year.
Hello Tweeps!! Bball interference but lurking in the background...love that post it's made an appearance!
I'm with you on the Sharpies, especially bright ones!
Yep! Need to teach responsibility and routines from day 1. Then, total trust.
Honestly, my favorite thing is to just give them a pile of random stuff to see what they come up with.
A student was trying to quietly get something and binders kept falling. LOL I just watched for a few min....
That's true most years. Some years are extraordinary.
hugs from afar my friend!!
Hi, I'm Kelsey! I teach 3rd gr in VA. A1. Flairs, Inkjoy Gels, and Staedtlers. I like bright colors and no smears!
My good scissors are a no no!🙄
A4: I share about everything except my paper cutter and Mr. Sketch markers.
Howdy Kelsey! Welcome to the !
A5 is a razor knife wildly inappropriate?
Agreed! I always keep in mind that it's not MY room, but THEIR room.
A5: in this day and age.....chalk and chalkboard
A5: probably the ease of access to utility & xacto knives... Finesse cutting is a need!
A5. Small paper cutters & trimmers. Definitely keep them locked in my tool box!
just like tech, it's not about the tool, it's how you use it! 😂
finesse cutting must be done, amirite?
Ha ha tactile sticky and u can't beat the sound as you pull on it.
I LOVe tape. I like to feel the sticky. Probably TMI. It's a tactile thing I think?
A5: maybe the amount of art supplies I have in a MS Literacy Classroom
Colored duct tape can also be found. Love that stuff!
A5; what about rubber cement?
It is pretty awesome for flat paper projects!
A2. I use too many Post-It notes for my own good. Also obsessed with using my planner...but that's a convo for another day! 😝
That gif is so doggone cute!
My principal even brought me art paper and paint (she knows me well)
A5 I like screwdrivers and pliers for taking stuff apart!
That's a lady you keep working for, even if she switches schools. Follow!
My Ss were flabbergasted I paid for rocks and didn't go pick them up outside. Michaels=$3.00. Worth it.
I used it so much when I taught 1st gr. Maybe that explains alot.
Also part of the tool box. Getting ready to let some kids use them. Can't wait to see their reactions!
I just have to ask, do you understand teachers that don't allow markers?! Sorry, off topic, kind of ...
It's so fun when you blow a kid's mind!
Trying to do too many things at once. Ended up throwing mall madness pieces in my mouth and my trail mix on my charge card
I -understand- it, I get some of the reasons, but I don't agree with it. Does that make sense?
Try to fix things. Today, the spiky hair on a bike helmet. Really!
For sure! Expo Markers + Desk > Scratch Paper + Pencil
Did you paint tables or did they come that way?
My Ss are disappointed when they don't get to do this! They love it!
A6. I buy all of my personal supplies. Don't see myself stopping that any time soon!
Yes! Markers just make everything more fun.
Ooo- I wonder if paint will work as well--maybe watercolors?
I had this once! Loved it, but wore off.
A6 non- black, blue, or blue ink. Makes all the more of expression.
whiteboard tables thanks to
A6: post-its, purple pens
What I love most about it's like friends sitting around being nerdy together, sharing ideas, not trying to 1-up each other
A6 If I didn't have the long-arm stapler, I'd buy it again.
truth! Until we are adequately funded one day in our sweetest dreams...
A6: A set of 300 Prismacolor pencils (if they make that many)
I love my purple, but they are hard to find!
You just made my night! Along with everyone here who proved your point!
Oh no! We will be kind to them!
A6 I'll buy color printer cartridges and laminated paper pouches
A6: Good markers and pens for Sketchnoting!
A6: Books--teach rdg. But art supplies--any & all that I can get my hands on. I spend too much $ in both art and book stores.
Blasphemy... https://t.co/mjNIONPSHz
I just have to ask, do you understand teachers that don't allow markers?! Sorry, off topic, kind of ...
I think the laminator is on my horizon. I just know it'll make itself crucial.
YES!!! Prismacolor are the best!!!
That is a wonderful tool! Misplaced mine and I feel so lost, but I have my 3-hole punch.
I think the table wasn't prepped correctly. I wouldn't worry. It was paint.
has his kids write on floors too.
: talks about glitter everywhere he goes. He's like the edtech Rip Taylor.
That wouldn't work with our carpet! :)
What are they? (says the glitter-paint lady)
don't think it's worth the $. It's like an outfit/shoes--looks great but how often will u wear it.
The small laminator, love mine! You can get sheets cheap on Amazon! You'll use it lots!
I have been encouraged.....
A7 I'm a few days behind because of a weekend getaway with some pals, too much fun & driving...
I might have to try that! Fun!
OH---never tried that. do no that silly string doesn't come off 2 easily, but markers.
matter of fact, we use our markers 'til they can't be used any more! Great for shading
A6: love my tech but keep post it's & a fine point pen on hand
I am very particular about my pens and pencils. I also love the erasers used w/ charcoal.
I know, right? Messy I guess?!
A7: I'd like to start a sketch-a-day project.
Just read the blog. Awesome! Adding some of those to media for checkout!
Ha ha Well, sure wouldn't make a smooth line. Try your windows instead.
Same here, have a huge bucket of them.
Sorry needed to finish making food for the fam. I'm doing lotsa analog making these days... Will share!
what was Q7? Still laughing about Rip Taylor! https://t.co/hFF4VXN3M2
A7 I'm a few days behind because of a weekend getaway with some pals, too much fun & driving...
I almost bought window paint today!!!!
A7. Haven't started yet. Planning on it this weekend.
Hadn't heard about this project-sounds cool!
I talk glitter every week
So glad that we r in this one together!
Thanks for an amazing and fun chat!!!!!
A7: behind on putting together clips of kinders & ice cream sandwich pbl & google classroom pilot
I had good luck with regular tempera and dry erase markers. Vinegar and water cleans it up. Spray bottle.
I do not currently have a project going.....
What are you going to do?
And now, join me over at the to find out the tech ?s my students have for educators!
