I've got a million questions for you but I suspect you'll answer many of them in the chat.

Hi I'll be in and out Ashlie from NE MI instructional technology & data coach can't wait to hear all the great discussion
Q1: What problems (if any) have you encountered with the PSAT, SAT or M-Step this year (materials, test administration, etc.)?
all the important people are here. .
For us the toughest thing to adapt to has been the requirements for accommodated tests. https://t.co/i2vhVEeqck
Q1: What problems (if any) have you encountered with the PSAT, SAT or M-Step this year (materials, test administration, etc.)?
A1: Having enough qualified people to administer due to accommodations
A1: the online version of M-Step has not been reliable. Kids are being kicked off and unable to reconnect. Very frustrating
I have heard this quite a bit. We will keep sharing that concern. https://t.co/NvP4tMs30U

Q1: What problems (if any) have you encountered with the PSAT, SAT or M-Step this year (materials, test administration, etc.)?
A1: Overall, pretty well. We were all paper pencil. Few questions along the way regarding SAT.
Did you do any testing prior today?
A1 it couldn't have been any smoother. However the planning was daunting!
Really good point. I've heard that one as well. https://t.co/JrE7jvv9b8
A1: Having enough qualified people to administer due to accommodations
I thought I had earned all my logistics stripes prior to this year. I think I earned a few more! https://t.co/Z1REXfuyN2
A1 it couldn't have been any smoother. However the planning was daunting!
Yes, the majority of our questions were surrounding SSD materials.
Interesting. What is your rationale for not moving to computerized testing? https://t.co/zD2oSfVej2
A1: Overall, pretty well. We were all paper pencil. Few questions along the way regarding SAT.
I used each and every teachers and both of my paras--no one left to spare!
we tested all last week. The majority of the issues started the last few days .
Glad to hear that! What made planning more challenging than in the past? https://t.co/N3xrNJ1h64
A1 it couldn't have been any smoother. However the planning was daunting!
Checking in a little late...A1: We didn't receive all of our accommodated SAT stuff...not good and were given no solution.
Was this the case at your sister middle school in East China or does it seem isolated? https://t.co/TYcPkCz0UI
A1: the online version of M-Step has not been reliable. Kids are being kicked off and unable to reconnect. Very frustrating
Just wanted to make sure we were fully prepared to go online for students (and our) sake.
Gotcha. As mentioned earlier our 11th grade M-STEP last week couldn't have been smoother.
A1: I heard from one MS Principal that 18 students logged in and their MStep was in Spanish...luckily an isolated problem.
I think it was because 3 grades were testing and all Ts were proctoring, not just ones we hand picked.
You never received it at all? https://t.co/9iIz1CcqZP
Checking in a little late...A1: We didn't receive all of our accommodated SAT stuff...not good and were given no solution.
my understanding is that it's wide spread throughout the State. MCMS using a different schedule so they didn't test today
A1: our PSAT10 materials did not come in for last Tues. & our M-STEP11 loaded slow on Thurs-other than that, all good
That does make a difference for sure! https://t.co/UuDGlPBuw3
I think it was because 3 grades were testing and all Ts were proctoring, not just ones we hand picked.
Yikes, did you have to adjust your testing schedule on the fly?
A1: My main concern at this point is the free score sends to universities.
one of the perks of being POTY...the testing Gods love you
That's a significant scheduling challenge! Were you able to have enough calculators? https://t.co/7uk8A8R0G1
Grades 8-11 all tested. I've never done that before!
I didn't receive half of it. And I received quadruple of things I didn't need. Frustrating.
Sorry for jumping in late. Jake. Former HS Ts. Aspiring Admin.
I'll let you know if they're still smiling on me tomorrow!
and all of my accommodations were in last year April.
Hi Jake- glad to have you with us!
We experienced a delay in some materials as well. Luckily, all good on testing day!
A1 I think maybe college board may not be used to mass accommodations. It was not super smooth but we understand first runs.
Q1: I found the multitude of College Board websites that needed to be used to manage the testing process cumbersome.
Q2 is in the hopper....wait for it!
We found several places where diff manuals contradict each other. Tough to know what's right
Sorry for checking in late. Paul Hungerford, from Fulton MS/HS.
Glad you got it...I had 20 kids ready to test and still haven't.
BAM! I think that is true but the shipping issues were over the top. https://t.co/SMGIdvrtXQ

Slipping into "lurker" mode. Life is calling. Hope to be more involved next week. Best of luck to all M-Steppers .

Q2: What actually went better than you expected in terms of testing this year?
A2: The testing day itself on SAT day went really well. Teachers were complimentary of the assessment.
A2: M-Step was as smooth as could be.
See, not just us!! https://t.co/h8EqOPp8XF
same. The more diligent my awesome staff paid attention to details the more confused we became! picked 1 https://t.co/nSQZdSCHIi

A2 Teachers confidence in the administration process.
A1: thankful that testing team & have infinite patience.
A2. Staff participation with covering rooms, proctor breaks, and accommodations!
A2: Informal feedback from students included it was challenging, pages laid out well (white space), pertinent essay for SAT
Q3: What suggestions would you have for MDE and/or the College Board for testing next year? (please use A3: )
I loved having everyone testing same day it saved so much on scheduling and helping Ps and Ss understand basically same test.
A2: overall, everything has gone well - all due to Ms Iszler, our office Team, and awesome Proctors
A3: 1 simple thing that would help is not having to begin accommodated testers all on same day https://t.co/Vluv595DRp

BAM! https://t.co/QTT8kpFIkp

A3: has to work on the accommodation process and shipping. That is the group of kids that can't handle mishaps.
A3. The timing of the assessments is brutal coming off spring break.
A3: College Board has too many access levels. Cumbersome to work with. Other than that, things were OK.
A3: Logistics and communication needs to be cleaned up by , but imperative we keep college entrance exam
A3: be more ready to handle the accommodated requests and be truly prepared to ship materials in a more timely manner
A1: Logistics with accommodations and number of adults needed. Organization issues with late arrival of materials for T & S
Could not agree more with all of this... https://t.co/S2fT1qOOC5
A3: Logistics and communication needs to be cleaned up by , but imperative we keep college entrance exam
I know that is a challenge, but is it worth it to get the actual test Qs? That is why it was selected. https://t.co/w5eJg4awB5

I want the questions...so hoping ISDs keep this week in mind when selecting future Spring Breaks. https://t.co/Q6dhw4Z6lt

it will be...we just have to adapt and prepare!
I can relate! I think its challenging for different reasons no matter how many students you have. https://t.co/7F9UK8PODm
A1: The planning was relentless when dealing with 1400+
A3:ACT had a printed timeline with specific resources,SAT needs one. One College Board website where everything can be accessed.
A3: More flexible timing, especially with accommodations. And, reduce the revisions/misprints with directions and practice tests.
A1: Login issues with 120 on 1 TSM ... Took 45-mins to get them started. Threw off our schedule.
BAM! https://t.co/ejdETHz8k8
a3: To not force accom students (SAT)to wait out the full time if they are finished allow them to move on
I know what you're saying...but seeing "TSM" reminds me of "TPS Reports"! https://t.co/592zUYoVkJ
A1: Login issues with 120 on 1 TSM ... Took 45-mins to get them started. Threw off our schedule.
A1: Not convinced College Board was prepared for Michigan!
BAM! I forgot about that- great resource. I'll suggest that to https://t.co/WsL8cniq6v

Now that's a problem! https://t.co/rSHHNllwOs
A1: Login issues with 120 on 1 TSM ... Took 45-mins to get them started. Threw off our schedule.
A2: The students & staff flexibility when our schedule was blown up.
Q4: Do you have a plan to help students use their PSAT and SAT results to jumpstart Kahn Academy remediation?
A3: work keys make up order deadline too quick.
YES, but Do they REALLY understand what it takes to test 2K sts w/ materials only a few days in advance? https://t.co/gRabeFOnoj
I know that is a challenge, but is it worth it to get the actual test Qs? That is why it was selected. https://t.co/w5eJg4awB5

Q5 in just a minute! Not to late to join in the conversation.
A4: Need to have kids using RtI time to work with Khan Academy. Looking forward to getting results back.
Has anyone else questioned the free college score process? Was told I would hear answer in 48 hours. Been four days.
Q4:Juniors connected from previous PSAT.Will follow same process to connect all 9/10 students.Weekly intervention time planned
Agreed on that! I'm looking forward to helping schools look at their data. https://t.co/1V3LJkZnjr

Q4:Juniors connected from previous PSAT.Will follow same process to connect all 9/10 students.Weekly intervention time planned
A4. My Juniors list their link in KHAN and had to go through the process again.
They only release the items from one National testing date...its that date only- need for secure items. https://t.co/pdxbwkQlpe
why are the ?s only available that week?
Has anyone had luck getting students logged into to select 4 colleges to send results? Many of mine are having issues
I'll get that webinar set up soon. :) https://t.co/I0Vglnb0hI
A4: No plan yet. 🎉This is crazy season and I'm looking forward to Wendy's lesson with this!!🎉
Believe this is to be addressed in an upcoming BAA Spotlight https://t.co/5o0BIMPydA
Has anyone had luck getting students logged into to select 4 colleges to send results? Many of mine are having issues
No luck here because Michigan students did not "register" on account.
I've reported this to - hoping they will extend the deadline due to the glitch. https://t.co/T4oBfsp44l
Has anyone had luck getting students logged into to select 4 colleges to send results? Many of mine are having issues
Last question in uno momento!
Q5: If you were Superintendent Whiston for a day what assessments would you propose in grades 3-11 in the future?
A5: 11th Grade MUST include college entrance exam!!! Also, like the idea of the state using aligned assessment for 9th/10th.
A5: As much vertical alignment to SAT as possible for Secondary schools (1/2) https://t.co/7obymidbW8
Q5: If you were Superintendent Whiston for a day what assessments would you propose in grades 3-11 in the future?
Nwea through 8th. 8-11 PSAT and SAT or EPAS! https://t.co/kIIEg54511
Q5: If you were Superintendent Whiston for a day what assessments would you propose in grades 3-11 in the future?
A5: PSAT/SAT 8 - 11 and interims at MS
A5. NWEA 3-7. PSAT 8-10. SAT 11
A5: Ideally, aligned 3rd-11th. But, also think there needs to be a scaling back of overall testing.
A5: At elem use rigorous/reliable online tests that schools already use and value, NWEA for example (1/2) https://t.co/SZCmwz13eS
A5: As much vertical alignment to SAT as possible for Secondary schools (1/2) https://t.co/7obymidbW8
Q5: If you were Superintendent Whiston for a day what assessments would you propose in grades 3-11 in the future?
Looks good. Probably means we can rid of WorkKeys and M-STEP? https://t.co/qG6kgNy3o3
A5. NWEA 3-7. PSAT 8-10. SAT 11
A5. Anything that is aligned and consistent with quick results. SAT/PSAT seems promising if they clean up logistics
Thanks for another great tonight my PLN! I missed you guys. I'll collect your feedback and will continue to advocate.
A5: No thanks ... I'll leave that to 😂
End of course assessments for each MMC & 11th college readiness.
