Hi, #TECHtalkGA! I'm Angela, your host, Dist ITS for MS/HS + online French 1 teach for Forsyth Co!
Since I'm not at a school, I rely on my school-based ITSs or just invite myself in! Maybe just show up from time to time!
A1: Hollie Sisk, Georgia Southern Univ COE and to be honest prioritizing getting into classrooms based on prior commitments scheduled from previous director and myself. Could not live day to day without my @googlecalendar. #TECHtalkGA
Hi #TechTalkGA! Martha Bongiorno, library media specialist at Autrey Mill Middle School in Johns Creek/Fulton County. I make a schedule and stick to it but I also invite teachers in the media center to collaborate.
A1: Askia Jackson; Bryan Co; ITS; This year I am already more flexible than last year because I'm not a "specials" teacher. I'm starting with a sign up calendar that a checklist in Google Sheets so I know who to visit. Thanks @TeachingHursey for the idea! #TechTalkGa
A1: Marlene Harris
Screven County Ga
Instructional Tech Coach
As a district level coach covering multiple buildings, I have a hard time getting I to classes, prioritize those who reach out to me #TechTalkGa
A2: asking questions about what they felt went well and what they would like to see improve. And make suggestions asked on their responses. #TECHtalkGA

A2: A2: As a coach of Extra Teristals. I find that speak and spells and reeces pieces do the trick. Pizzas are kind of iffy. Bicycle rides a must . . .#techtalkga
I will be attending Data Team meetings at our school soon. I'll get to see where the Ts are in the curriculum and offer tech help. I want to show them how to enhance what they're already doing - not look at it as an add-on. #TechTalkGa
A2: I offer assistance with integration ideas for tech tools like @Flipgrid, using virtual reality, @GoogleForEdu, and then a lot of support for #edTPA especially when it comes to using the @goswivl app for filming. #TECHTalkGA
LOVE THIS! After all, it's their class, their lesson. Let's improve on what THEY want to see improved before we just jump in and take over!

A1: Daniel content specialist in Forsyth Co. Since I am not in a traditional classroom, I communicate directly with other online teachers to see how I can help. #techtalkga
A1: Laverne Hill. Recently Reitred Media Specialist. Currently working with RESA to get into schools as well as local system. Need ideas on how to schedule or show my availability to area schools in district.
A2: I think you have to be adaptable plain and simple. I think that you really have to have multiple ways to offer feedback. Maybe its 1:1 maybe its your blog or site. #techtalkga

A3 ~ There may or may not be a food scale which correlates to the level of intensity of question - JK - I remind myself to Be Curious, to Give Benefit of Doubt, and ask for How I Can Help. #TECHtalkGA
A2: I send my weekly Tech Tips 411 e-newsletter, offer to model new tools & resources & collaborate/plan for lessons. My focus is enhancing instruction, increasing student engagement & achievement. #edtech#TechtalkGA#APSITInspires
A3: Keep asking questions. Sometimes we ask questions and don't like what we hear so we interject. Keep asking questions and let them find their own way. #TECHtalkGA
A3: The difficult questions are easy to ask right now since I'm new and getting to learn/know everyone. I just ask please tell me what you know, what you want to learn or your goal for your students, and how can I help? It is all about listening. #empathy#TECHTalkGA
I do the same. I've enjoyed doing my newsletters and offering snippets of tech tools for Ts to sign up for. I have more participation than I anticipated! #TechTalkGa
A3: when the lesson is a disaster, I ask what went well(some easier than others). I try to find S that struggled to see if T remembers the struggle/student & ask what could have been done to reach him/her. Ask questions so they see the opportunity/another way on own #TECHtalkGA

The first few years are great, right? I just play dumb (sorry, #forsythpln) and say, "Now tell me why..." I think this year or next is prob my last one to do that though.
#TECHtalkGA
A3: Keep asking questions. Sometimes we ask questions and don't like what we hear so we interject. Keep asking questions and let them find their own way. #TECHtalkGA
Q3: Offer guidance/ask questions by creating an open and honest relationship with my teachers. Ask them to try something new even if it means failing. Being there to offer support in the process. #TECHtalkga
A2: Attending school improvement meetings has provided conversation opportunities for me to share ways to integrate meaningful experiences for Ss which are directly related to the school improvement goals. Using tech is integral, not additional. #TechTalkGa
A3: When you create a culture of open communication and an environment of growth mindset, the tough questions are much easier to approach and discuss. When we ask questions, it should never be a 'gotcha' moment but a moment of reflection. #TECHtalkGA
A4: I believe sharing things you recently learn in trainings helps others to know you don’t know everything and that becoming better means pursuing learning at any stage #TECHtalkGA
A4: Awesome chats like this, reading and sharing what we've read, being a connected educator. and listening to awesome podcast like #blbs by @alienearbud#TECHtalkGA
A4: By continuing to learn and try new things in the classroom. They don’t always work and that’s ok. It’s good for kids to see that we all fail sometimes. Also don’t just rely on school led PD get out and search for new stuff on your own #techtalkga
A4: Back to my @googlecalendar ... I really try to block off like 10-15 minutes during the day at some point and read some relevant articles and try to share. Nuzzle is a great service that someone shared with me to curate your twitter #TECHtalkGA
A4: Besides attending #PD also trying new things and sharing about experiences. Good or bad! Like today I had an #EduFail with Apple Configurator 2. So, I've reached out to some Apple Gurus in Savannah for some help!! Modeling my frustration keeps me real I guess #TECHTalkGA
A4: I plan to create a Google Slide of activities I learn at conferences and workshops to show Ts that what I learn they can do, too. I want them to see that we're all in this together! Cue music... #TechTalkGa
Q4: We learn continuously by participating in opportunities like #twitterchats and sharing this learning with Ts. Then having Ts “drink the tech kool-ade” and like it❣️ #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A4:
The easiest way IMO is to simply fess up when we don't know and have to Google the answer.
How many of us have thought, "Well, you could have Googled it..."
But they don't know that we don't know unless we tell them...and then we're modeling.

A4 ~ I like to talk through how I've done things one way, then discovered a better way to do it. Not saying "wrong" is pretty important in that scenario. #TECHtalkGA
A5: Yes and is so powerful. The coaches/leaders who Yes, but dampen spirits quickly. Be brave. Trust your people. Let them learn from their possible mistakes and let them own it! #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A4 P2:
I let them see me reading, Googling, perusing @Feedly...staying on top of things is part of my job.
I had an AP one time tell me that it must be nice to "just sit & read." I had to politely explain that LEARNING should be part of ALL of our roles.

A5 ~ Often I find I am startled by what people reveal and use the phrase "Wow, I never thought of that" as a filler/instead of sounding judgy. Once I recover they are usually going into detail and I can keep asking for more information. #TECHtalkGA
A5: Don't be afraid to figure out a solution. If you aren't sure how use your resources or ask someone in your #PLN. Instead of "No I won't configure the iPads." Try "Yes, and I will find someone to teach me how." Another reason to build your network! #TECHTalkGA
A2: I have a Google Appointments Calendar called “Help Me Rhonda”. It was the best way I could get people to ask for help! I also do weekly tech tips and I’m now doing Byte Sized videos, all under a minute, demonstrating a tech tool! #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A5: “yes, and” creates openness and acceptance and validation. Most often people want to know they are doing the right things and “yes, and” encourages them to take a gentle turn, rather than fear a sharp one #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A5:
To be fair, there comes a time when "yes, and" is excessive BUT...
shouldn't we help Ts explore what they imagine?
shouldn't we help Ss achieve what they don't think possible?
shouldn't we push ourselves outside our comfort zone?

Great chat tonight, #TECHtalkGA! Thanks to everyone who participated!

A1: I prioritize getting in the classrooms through my student tech team. They chose 5 teachers to service this year and that gets me involved in helping the Ts and Ss during class. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A5: I like Yes and maybe consider . .. . . . Nuzzle. .. . flipgrid. . . google. . . Carmen Sandiego. .. because you are now giving an opportunity and experience to a student that the couldn't do without technology #TECHtalkGA
Q5: I love when we're collaborating and Ts think of ways to use the same tech tools for other topics. We get into a back and forth "yes and..." conversation and it's beautiful!! #TechTalkGa
A5: Yes and...is a very similar mindset to using the term I can’t...yet. It is taking a growth mindset and demonstrates a willingness to learn and get better at what we do. #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A5 P2:
I also use these questions as a way to try to get Ts to take me where they really want Ss to go. Beyond the use of #edtech and to what the product/evidence really is!
A3: I’m really working on this with our Monday Roundtable Discussions. My tech team and I give feedback to each other based on what service was provided the week before. It’s been very helpful because the Ss are honest. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
Yes! I like to ask them to give an example of how they could ___ in their setting. The wheels get in motion and the brainstorming begins! I love when this happens. Definitely brings to mind... “two heads are better than one”.
A4: by going to tech conferences and communicating what was discussed or learned with a group of Ts and School admin. Twitter chats!! #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A5: The best way is to take time to think about things first. Accepting that we don’t have to have an answer at that moment is liberty. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
