Q1: What is your blitzing philosophy and why? #425chat
  • Joebruneel Mar 22 @ 9:13 PM EDT
A1: I bring five so I can bring one on one's across the board. I bring six when they protect my five with six. Really, I just want to get my guys one on one's and then they have to win. #425chat

I like to mix up my blitzes vs pass.. don't like it as much vs the run..more likely to move the line or have some sort of an X stunt #425chat

A1: I think it depends on the athletes that we'll have. Can we win with 4? Then we will. Ultimately, we blitz the strengths of the team we're playing. We won't blitz just because. We'll blitz because we think it can stop what they do well. #425chat

As a 3-3 guy who’s also ran some 4-2-5. I blitz pass situations if I can get there with my front 4. Run blitzes are game plan situations. #425chat

  • MyGAOnline Mar 22 @ 9:21 PM EDT
A2: Edge Blitz make the Tackles Work #425chat
  • JerryGordonFB Mar 22 @ 9:22 PM EDT
Old fashioned NCAA with cover 3/3 behind it...will play some trap with it if it sets up #425chat

  • JerodBrown_ Mar 22 @ 9:23 PM EDT
A2: Haven't coached 4-2-5 in season yet. But I'm really excited to play around with our Stud (Strong overhang safety/whatever you want to call him) and make him a dangerous piece that offenses prepare for. #425chat
  • thomps_03 Mar 22 @ 9:25 PM EDT
A2 Strong/Weak Dog (America's Blitz) and keep split field behind it #425chat
  • CoachKelleyAHS - Moderator Mar 22 @ 9:26 PM EDT
Q3: What is your favorite coverage behind it? Fire zone? Man? #425chat
  • JerodBrown_ Mar 22 @ 9:28 PM EDT
A3: Depends on how legit our field corner is. If he's a stud, and it's an obvious passing down, then we're going to bring pressure and play press man behind it. Force your guys to be perfect. If you're better than us, we're gonna play Zone& bracket your top dude out wide #425chat

    A3: Man or 4 Read or inverted 2 #425chat
  • KidCoolBreeze49 Mar 22 @ 9:34 PM EDT
Bring Wk$ & MLB with man behind if we have favorable match ups, otherwise play Cov 3 on the back end to cover up disadvantages. Also, like MLB & WLB delayed Twist/Cross with Man or Cov 3 behind #425Chat

  • stoptherun425 Mar 22 @ 9:35 PM EDT
A3: we play 3 deep 2 under behind pressures #425chat
  • stoptherun425 Mar 22 @ 9:37 PM EDT
A2) run downs on hash, boundary corner and will on ncaa path 6 man pressure #425chat

Q4: How do you teach your blitzers to attack the gap without passing the ball up? #425chat
  • 425DC1 Mar 22 @ 9:40 PM EDT
Our favorite is lining up both tackles in A gap and have them going B gap, inside backers crossing into opposite A gap with DE’s going up field while playing straight man #425chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • KidCoolBreeze49 Mar 22 @ 9:41 PM EDT
Not as popular, but really like Robber with pressure. But, will revert to a Zone / Man concept when bringing “the House” #425Chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • 425DC1 Mar 22 @ 9:42 PM EDT
We are a straight man press team, might start doing some 3 deep with 2 SCF players to change it up #425chat

  • stoptherun425 Mar 22 @ 9:43 PM EDT
A4: we aim for the screws of the helmet on snap blitzes and ling sticks. Any of the inside 4 spill, edge kids leverage everything #425chat
  • 425DC1 Mar 22 @ 9:44 PM EDT
Blitz with head and eyes up, then when near ball approach ball as you would any other tackle... proper leverage #425chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • thomps_03 Mar 22 @ 9:48 PM EDT
A4 we need to do better job coaching this. Edge I would like to have pewl mentality once they cross los. Inside keep eyes up and attack man through gap. #425chat
  • CoachKelleyAHS - Moderator Mar 22 @ 9:50 PM EDT
Q5: What forces you to check out of your blitz calls? #425chat
  • CoachJoeJones34 Mar 22 @ 9:51 PM EDT
We are a blitz heavy team. Our guys seem to do well when we put them on the move. Same for the line. They love stunting. We may scheme for the worst olineman and attack him. We may look to get pressure in the QBs face right away...all depends. #425chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • stoptherun425 Mar 22 @ 9:52 PM EDT
A1) we overload on early downs to get the offense off schedule. Last year we were 48% 6 man pressure on run downs. #425chat
  • KidCoolBreeze49 Mar 22 @ 9:52 PM EDT
Certain forms that we’ve seen in scouting & motions. Motions - away or into an overload can switch the blitzer. #425Chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • CoachJoeJones34 Mar 22 @ 9:53 PM EDT
Maybe not favorite but most frequent would probably be DTs in a 2 stunting B gap and the snap. And backers cross blitzing in A gaps...#425chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • stoptherun425 Mar 22 @ 9:54 PM EDT
A5: 4x1 concepts get us to base or our auto check for the week. Other than that, play the call with built in adjustments for corner fire (2+ skinny) check it inside. #425chat
  • thomps_03 Mar 22 @ 9:55 PM EDT
A5 our goal is to bump a blitz to next inside man if needed and not check out. Some formations may dictate if they break tendency. #425chat
  • CoachJoeJones34 Mar 22 @ 9:56 PM EDT
Depending on the coverage we have called, a motion could force us to get vanilla. But we try to install automatic checks and drill thwm throughout the season #425chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • 425DC1 Mar 22 @ 9:56 PM EDT
Nothing will force us out, we will dictate to the o and not the other way around. We will BTF, blitz to formation and have one blitz that will be an auto check when kids don’t which BTF to do. We can only do this by spending time in blitz/ align periods. #425chat

  • brandonvilla55 Mar 22 @ 9:56 PM EDT
A1: Dial up pressure quite often. Want to keep the offense guessing all the time! #425chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • brandonvilla55 Mar 22 @ 9:57 PM EDT
A2) Depends on the opponent, but love a great dog blitz with a combo ILB & OLB/S pressure! #425Chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • brandonvilla55 Mar 22 @ 9:58 PM EDT
A3) Don’t like to limit the coverage. Can’t give the offense something to game plan based on pressure. Change the coverage almost every time. #425Chat
    In reply to @CoachKelleyAHS
  • brandonvilla55 Mar 22 @ 9:58 PM EDT
A4) Attack tight to the gap with eyes up and alert. “Burn the gap” and find the ball. #425Chat
