I would also put family time in that slot. The cocoon of coming home to my "other world" always helps absorbs the "hits" that can come in the classroom. #bfc530

My niece had to interview me in her preservice college ed course. When asked what college course best prepared me for the classroom, I replied, "Student teaching and then my 1st years in the job" Also warned her that sometimes theoretical is sometimes only that #bfc530

Sometimes I get so warn down ~ teachers, students, admins, community, politicians even those in my Twittersphere pushing back saying I need to do X, Y, and Z to do my job well.

So true. When I lived 45 min from my job, I often drove home with the radio off, driving along rural back roads. It was vert calming from the "noise" that you mentioned that school can bring. #bfc530
