A1 I have done 5 Skype/Zoom field trips this year! I've connected through @cilcorg and we've also chatted with diff experts in a variety of fields! #5thchat
@appear_in is a video collaboration tool that lets you have conversations with up to 8 people. I have my Ss in private rooms with small groups of Ss or with one other individual. Ss love it! #5thchat

A2: I love Ss connecting globally because I know some of my Ss will never leave the state of WI. Through tech my Ss can connect with other Ss without leaving the safety net of the classroom. Ss excitement & connecting is priceless https://t.co/WEc5vuV5DS#5thchat
I am working on one in the LMS @Schoology about the book Wonder. Several classrooms are participating. Want to join? Padlet, Flipgrid, and Schoology discussions are being used to talk about the book. #5thchat
#5thchat My students and I participated in an iEarn project also! It was on wetlands with a school in Uganda and one in Australia. It was a fantastic experience!
Digital citizenship must be taught to Ss. You need to model to Ss that they are representing your school and district. What they post sends a message to other Ss in other parts of the country or world. Real world application. #5thchat
A6: Taking time to connect with other educators. I love my relationship with @katy_corey! Four yrs of working together and we still have not meet. Connecting to collaborate is priceless. #5thchat

A3: The obvious is time. Working with the UK was hard, 8 hours difference is an entire school day. 4 hours is more doable, which means Central/South America. #rm222#5thchat
A4: I am using shared Google Docs that are used independent of timezones. The are collaborative docs that my Ss will look at in the working and see #GlobalEd responses written hours earlier. It’s like a present to unwrap each morning. #rm222#5thchat
