Tonight we are breaking down film clips by the position we coach. Offensive and defensive coaches are both encouraged to provide their insight on how the position you coach is performing in the play. You will have 15 minutes before the next clip is posted. #TXHSFBCHAT

HSSocialMedia : RT txhsfbchat: Due to the topic tonight, Qs will start earlier around 8:05...that way you have plenty of time to look at the clip, evaluate your position and post your notes...I’m expecting awesomeness #TXHSFBCHAT
A1: 1st thing I notice is great back with good vision. Left Side Pullers get hung up and a little high IMHO #TXHSFBCHAT it is plays like this (TD) that allow you to be hyper critical or really nit pick because overall huge team positive-HFC perspective
A1: looks like they had some great down blocks, missed kick, and didn’t get next level when they saw hip go away, but overall a very good play using opposite motion to take advantage of a slant/flow happy defense #TXHSFBCHAT
DE squeezed but didn't spill. Both ILBs were too wide on their fits. WLB got a fast read but was shuffling in slow. DT and NG both got washed across the formation. WS never showed for cut back. No bright spots for the D on that play.
A1: Can’t see the wideout but it looks like the corner or safety, think that’s #5 or 8, comes screaming into the film and almost makes the tackle... #TXHSFBCHAT
A1) Q reverses out to hand the ball off. Does a good job of clearing his hips while giving the mid line to 100 back who makes a drastic cut up field to split the defense.
GETTING OUT THE WAY! #TXHSFBCHAT
A1: I would like the see the QB sell and more importantly carry out the fake a little longer... deception is so important for keeping the blocking numbers right on that play. #txhsfbchat
A1: first thing I notice is the safety looks in the back field to create a nice running lane by the back. I’m thinking a few plays before this they set it up with the motion. #TXHSFBCHAT
A1; Down blocks better than pullers put still too high #TXHSFBCHAT Also would like to see more blocks finished - again HFC perspective. Tough for old Dinosaur to see Defense from this angle.
A1) LBs Poor stance, upright, not sure what they are reading. Dead feet at snap, never downhill. 100% right or 100% wrong but see something & go! DLine no wrong arm, no run fit or penetration, lifeless. OLB didn't adjust to motion & understand the play he can make. #txhsfbchat
I was taught when playing “key the guard”. ILB’s went with the back and not the guard. Guards are making the play happen. Bust on defense due to not reading the play step by step #TXHSFBCHAT
S/O to the OL, but this back made the play by not only stopping on a dime to take it back door but also run by unblocked would be defenders , in the hole, to split the defense. Yards from scrimmage. #TXHSFBCHAT
A1)Oops my eyes deceived me. Backside Guard pulled. Hard to tell- did center not step flat enough to cut off penetration or Guard poor path??? #TXHSFBCHAT
This is a tunnel sweep, with a hard down block in the front side. Can’t allow penetration. It is designed to cut back. Want to look like a sweep, stick a foot in the ground, get vertical and look for CB. Motion was a halftime adjustment based on their safety play. #TXHSFBCHAT
Both DTs too wide in stance which prevents them from gettin good takeoff. Get manhandled cause of poor stance leading to poor takeoff and technique. SDE also to slow off ball limited aggression. Bad DL play #TXHSFBCHAT
A1- Wing-t TAG play from the Buck series with the OL. Back field with toss power, belly motion away, not clean on the edge but opened up nicely inside.
#TXHSFBCHAT
A2: LT does a great job of continuing to run his feet after taking the first lick in the chops, fights from a bad fit to get head outside to help bust this thing #TXHSFBCHAT
A2 down blocks do not cut off penetration and allow to much, which almost throws off pullers BS puller needs to be a little deeper to hook LB and FS puller does a good job of reacting to flow #txhsfbchat
A2: the play side Wr stayed with his block and took the corner where he wanted to go. Got a little on the back of the cb, but great effort on his part because he broke down and didn’t quit and used his hands. #TXHSFBCHAT
A2) PST good initial step but then catches. We changed reach block to race block for examples like this. Silly, but changed our mindset of the block. Pulling Guard eyes should have been inside from beginning. #txhsfbchat
A2) QB Much better fake in this clip. Love the motor attacking 5+ yards downfield...don’t see enough of that from QBs. and a good job fading to avoid the wave rushing his way! #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: love the get offs by the wideouts, nothing like great effort!! Need to take a shot at the top wideout w/ how aggressive that corner is. Bottom wideout needs to keep his chin over his toes and buzz his feet earlier, almost over commits and gets the penalty #TXHSFBCHAT
A2. FS our of camera but with 2 WR’s in that formation, scoot up some and roll down on motion. Again with the pulling guards. Both of them come towards us. Indicator the ball carrier is coming this way. Attack the outer shoulder of the blocker and drive #TXHSFBCHAT
A1) lol TE seal the edge...0 force/secondary contain, wrappers got around...no safety running alley.....wr seal edge ...dangerous ball carrier in space... #Checkmate#TXHSFBCHAT
A2- Buck sweep. TE did a nice job of staying w/block. PSG nice read on TE, then looks back inside for work. BSG reads cut up early and finds work.
#TXHSFBCHAT
A2) TE didn't do a great job sealing his guy inside.. Received the blow instead of delivering. WR did a great job slow playing and letting his guy take himself out of the play
#TXHSFBCHAT
A2: WR. Top-Effort 💯Knowing the play is not towards him and still does his job. Bottom WR-Should have been a penalty on the Block in the back. Break down sooner and move with the CB. Don’t wait or you will get beat!! Maybe a PA and hit the top WR on a FLY next time #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: Run Forrest Run. This is our Gun Buck Sweep look it is our mix stuff up to our Veer Option UC attack. We stole it from @GurkhaStick at our annual @BeachCamp16 Run maybe 12 x a year #TXHSFBCHAT
Both MLBs no read steps false steps. Bad eyes and backwards steps@by strong M. Backside backer saw pull didn’t communicate or trust read Force player good initial contact but peeked inside and lost. No S alley. CB too deep not reading Qb zone (if man way too deep). #txhsfbchat
A2) Don't like the alignment. The LB miss 2 pulling guards, again be right or be wrong but GO!! Doing nothing is the death, not sure 32 gets back on the field. Force gets reached, just bad, looks like kids who are totally unsure. No aggression, #txhsfbchat
A2) lol TE/tackle seal the edge...0 force/secondary contain by defense, wrappers got around...no safety support.....wr seal edge ...dangerous ball carrier in space... #Checkmate#TXHSFBCHAT
A2: p2, on defense they are beat to the field because they put their numbers to the boundary. On top of that the olb gets reached, the ilb doesn’t trust his keys and also gets blocked and stays blocked. #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: It has been so long since I have taught my QB’s true straight hand off technique, because we read everything... but again... sell the fake harder and hold those backers another step, then sell hard! #txhsfbchat
A3) DE does't play to contact, wonders upfield and doesn't execute his option rule. Now I am not sure if had been playing Q and LB had dive & they were to switch with the LB walked up outside. But either way, he has to get hands on the down block, squeeze the air out #txhsfbchat
A3: DE doesn’t read or trust his key, He should’ve destroyed the FB on the down block. Both safeties come in high and catch, rather than tackle. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: front side ilb, is going straight to the qb. To the shade 5 side the 5 doesn’t do his job, the OT had no one block. The b-back ran right through the arm tackle. #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: Top slot receiver needs a better get off and a discussion about consistent effort...bottom outside receiver needs to do a better job cutting off that corner, sense of urgency!! #TXHSFBCHAT
A3.) Inside/Bottom WR. No need to go vertical to block. If DB’s 👀 are on you, he’s manned up. If 👀 are on the QB pre snap, he’s taking an angle to make a play. Don’t go vertical on the block. Get to where he’s gonna be, not where he is! #TXHSFBCHAT
A3)as DC
The D has 4 outside the OT, the DE’s job is dive but he is too wide and doesn’t do it. they are a LB short in the box. Then when guys get to the bc, poor attempts at tackling a big back way too high. FS doesn’t want to get in mix.
#TXHSFBCHAT#playwithanEdge
A3: It is IV with no pitch. Semis 2007 and we had game planed this to take OLBs further out of box & leave ILB on islands to pound & grind on a little. Truly blessed with great talent for a school of 175 kids at the time #TXHSFBCHAT
A3) Easy read for the Q, no way he can get past the LB, LB has too much leverage. Its either give or follow but pull and C gap is a bad idea. Self preservation read, #txhsfbchat
A3) QB: Good tough read on the QB part especially vs this look. Probably a bit more hive minded given the offensive formation but still a good decision. #TXHSFBCHAT
The unblocked PSDE looks like veer option. The B gap LB walking scraping over pre-snap plus that DE sitting a little was a give read for QB. Good read, easy 7 yard run with TWO unblocked defenders on the PS! #TXHSFBCHAT
I’ve got to run and open our track entries back up ... Thanks for the feedback on our play. We call it SMASH. Here are a couple of variations. #txhsfbchat
A4) QB: Good read and footwork to carry defense with him. Nice job seeing grass and getting rid of it while the defenses momentum is going the other way #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: they aligned well but lots of shoulder turn by the defense. Don’t go till you know. With the flow of the defense it made it an easy read and throw for the qb. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: that is dirty!! Love the outside receiver gets the eyes of 2 DBs and creates room for the whip, and then blocks his tail off downfield, what a stud!! Inside wideout’s whip is pretty good, would like his hips down more as he makes his cut #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Like the eyes and the ride, although I like a little more forward lean; on the throw I like them bubbling just a bit on the roll to be sure... on the throw needs to get his front shoulder to the target... but overallwell done, and well schemed. #TXHSFBCHAT
A4)Unbalanced covered TE, still runs a sweet route. Poor eye discipline, kids have to understand what plays they can make or where they are going to make them. Trying to make a play 40 yards away instead of the one they could and should make. #txhsfbchat
A1: looks like the lbs didn't fit where needed and line didn't fit in right either. Others overran. Offensively the line demolished the front and a great cutback by the RB #txhsfbchat
