A1 is Feb 17th 2016. DLD began in 2012 as a way to ensure all Ss have access to high-quality learning opportunities.
A1: Depending on the school everyday is Digital Learning Day. Will there be a time soon we won't have to label a specific day?

So important to build buy-in. Very powerful

A1 also give a day to try new tech and let students gain experiences through play
Hi everyone, Joël - Pedagogical Leader in Callander, Ontario Canada
Hi Tom looking forward to discussing this topic on tomorrow night
A1: For some teachers, is the reason to go out of their comfort zone. And I LOVE it!
over 30 sessions, teachers chose their schedules and sent feedback thru google forms
Love the focus on play! Such a big part of discovery component for Students.
if there isn't play what are we actually doing
Most great things happen when we are outside our comfort zone https://t.co/icNTdMnVCL
A1: For some teachers, is the reason to go out of their comfort zone. And I LOVE it!
Q2. What resources will you be using on/for ?
I don't see a lot of this in MS/HS :(
nothing innovative has ever occurred from a comfort zone
we ignore play too often and only focus on tools Play allows all of us 2 take a step back & enjoy our learning journey
focusing on grades and tests have replace real learning.
A2 My Ts are 1:1 w/iPads or Chromebooks. They will be tweeting and celebrating with the tag
and reason with ourselves through the failing
A2: Explore coding with Scratch
A2 I will be using Jill Thompson's guide to DLDay on Amazon for a low low price of $29.99
A2: Explore robotics with LEGO EV3 kits ! Loads of fun !
A2: Some of my classes have been using to analyze evidence in Forensic Science.
A2 Truth be told, the kids will probably teach me just as much (if not more) than I teach them on
I think schools need to emphasize it as part of the learning process not only for Students but for Teachers.
Nothing wrong with that. They will love it!
A2 Maybe like last year :) and
A2 we are doing a variety of activities that we have been testing. Time to pull out the bells and whistles
A2 Have Ss create poems, lyrics or recreate a song that represents all the great things they have done in the classroom w/ tech
Might be doing some coding on our iPads
Time to stop having failing be the end step and instead the beginning process.
how many people are searching Amazon right now trying to find your mystery book
Create a class & have Ss share pictures of them using tech in the classroom. Continue to share the rest of the year!
Just found a bunch of resources following ! You all rule.
I am currently enrolled in a education course and I am definitely learning the significance of technology in a classroom!

Hey twitterverse wrote a new manual for how to rock your DLDay get it on Amazon today!!
That I don't know. You could use a todaysmeet as more of a private chat since it doesn't require an account.
No but you could use other back channels such as or They don't need accounts for those.
A3: I agree sustainability is something to consider when thinking of Partner up with others in school or PLN to help!
A3: One way is to compile the resources people celebrate. Create opportunities for Ts to share and train fellow Ts.
A3: Also, have Ss help! My class responsibilities include instagrammer of the day and show us an a cite/app you like daily! #
On Instagram you can. You could have them post it on Google Classroom and make a Doc of the best ones and post them!
A3 the idea should be that what happens on DL day should happen everyday. Why fail your students
We are 30 minutes away from tonight!
thanks! Our Ts, Ss and admin really like it!
A3: PLN, Parent's, Community, and student's excitement let's get everyone excited and involved in
A3: never stop the conversation. Have "now showing" wall in staff lounge w/Ts using tech. Have a school hashtag. Share!!
If you try something new on continue it for the rest of the year so it becomes a norm in your classroom

during lunch students can share out apps or web tools that they like to use
A4 lack of technology or quality of tech to have all students have access

Model & practice/share what u preach. Invite others in your room so they can see it in action & offer to help them in their room
A4: Willingness to take risk on new tech., training, and $
A4 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
It is easy to come up with reasons why tech integration is an obstacle, let's hear some solutions to help others too
A4. possibly being able to share with students how to effectively and appropriately use technology for educ purposes
a4: Pretty much summed up the biggest issue with tech integration. A misunderstand of what integration is.
A4 Ts need more time, work on own , some fear change and risk, need support, access to resources
A4:Create Tech Teacher Leaders in every school, not just at the district level.
Jill's Musing: have multiple classes work together in a project. Double the teaching power

https://t.co/ctStuduhNp

Jill's Musing: bring in community members help they have materials to help with them learning
make it research. Look at how soon the first group tests their design.
S's use their
s-phones & other tech before & after school, in universities, military & workforce. Why not teach them in school
Remind colleagues, the biggest shift for educators using technology is not skill set, it’s mindset. https://t.co/NizgcGvLjW
A5: Document what you learn on and have a way to share it with your , school, or district.
A5: Learning from others and failing forward
