#ALedchat is a weekly chat on Twitter about education topics. It is held each Monday from 9-10pmCST. While the discussion on #ALedchat continues on Twitter well beyond our weekly one-hour chat session, this platform affords us the opportunity to extend, expand and share the conversation with an even greater audience. Educators from across the state of Alabama, and the world, can come here to find encouragement, support, resources, professional growth opportunities and advice, while providing the same to their colleagues.
It's that time! Welcome to #ALedchat - the fastest hour of the week! Please introduce yourself & where you're tweeting from tonight. Let's see those GIFs of how you feel about tonight's topic! #ALedchat
I'm Jennifer, Hoover High AP in AL. Co-founder of #ALedchat & #USedchat. Looking forward to learning with everyone tonight! How I feel about tonight's topic? #ALedchat
#aledchat A1: to be well slept, nourished, and have time to think long, crazy thoughts that serve no immediate purpose....and still meet the needs of my family and job.
A1: I would say a healthy and balanced life, other than the obvious: eating healthy and exercising, would be to focus just as much effort into your mental health. #ALedchat
A1: For a healthy, balanced life, I work to make sure I focus on family time, reflection, and doing something that I am interested in so I can then focus best when at work. #ALedchat
A1: It means we don’t spend weekends and late nights at school ALL the time. We realize family and down time are important if we want to give 100% at school:) #ALedchat#UMedTech
A1 Truthfully, it's trying to live by the emergency procedures on an airplane. "Put your mask on before you assist others." Stay healthy so you can care and impact deeply. #ALedchat
A1: A healthy & balanced life not only means being physically active, but also healthy in what you're thinking, being mindful of your actions and of the way they effect others. #aledchat
A1: It is important to have a time to disconnect, rest is key, exercise is helpful, and a good diet is good. A healthy body creates a healthy mind. #ALedchat
A1- to eat right and exercise while balancingwork and home without letting work over take my home live. Being intentional about spending time with my daughters and wife! #ALedchat
A1: Living in peace and harmony. Taking care of home and work responsibilities in addition to taking time for extended family and friends. Working hard, playing hard. Being your best self. #aledchat
A crucial point here. Education is a great career, but at the end of the day it's also a job and you come home from it. Draw a boundary for self preservation, family, and friends #ALedchat
A1: It means we don’t spend weekends and late nights at school ALL the time. We realize family and down time are important if we want to give 100% at school:) #ALedchat#UMedTech
A1: A healthy and balanced life would definitely include time to recharge on your own, time to clear your ind of all the daily routines, questions, decisions, and enjoy the quiet. #ALEdchat
A2: Sometimes anxiety and stress keep me from putting my full effort, or even wanting to put any effort, into my "job" (which for me is college). #ALedchat
This is a biggie. In our career of service, we sometimes put ourselves last while we try to take care of everyone else. We all know that doesn't last. #ALedchat
Carol from James Clemens late to the party...just overboiled eggs..like I boiled all the water out...my life and work are not balanced tonight #aledchat
A2: Time always stands in the way. At the high school level with sports often we are at work from 7a-??? Then catching up on emails, paperwork etc. I could go on…so again..just time..#ALedchat
#aledchat A2: Yes. One of those two: Work and life. They get in the way :) Honestly: I like doing too many things that my life would feel incomplete without. What gets in the way? Twitter ed chats!
A2: Emotional and physical fatigue at the end of the day can prevent exercise, cooking a healthy meal, and being a pleasant person to be around.#ALedchat#UMEdTech
A2: My biggest struggle is time. If I could have more time to spend with each, I would take it. I always want to do more at home and at school. #ALEdchat
A1: I'm a teacher, I have a 4 and 5 year old daughter, husband works out of town, and I am getting my M.Ed in Instructional Leadership. So, without maintaining a balanced life it's easy to get overwhelmed with the craziness of busy schedules. #ALedchat#UMedTech
A2: Balance is lost sometimes for important reasons. Care for students and teachers success can get you out of balance- even if for good reasons. Family can be left with very little if your time. #aledchat
A1: I try to live my vocation fully- as a loving wife, then Mother, then teacher. I’m actually a better teacher when I’ve kept it correctly ordered! Also, remembering to pray and offer all things up! #ALEdchat
The fact that I ENJOY my work! I love going to students’ games; I love hanging out with Educator peeps on Twitter. When education is your passion... it can be hard to turn it off. #ALedchat
I'm like you... I like to have a lot going on. When I don't, I'm out of balance. Funny, I really didn't recognize this until later in life, but I've always been this way. #ALedchat
I really do try to stop when I walk in the door at home. It doesn't always happen but I sure do try. I just have to turn that work phone off. #ALedchat
A2: Honest https://t.co/vGR6JlAHgw... but I'm slowly learning if I can't always do for others without doing something for me at some point. I've learned this month when what's supposed to be first is (my time with God), the rest falls into place. #aledchat
I will never understand where the guilt in saying "no" to maintain balance comes from. Especially because we all know that when we're focused we're most effective #ALEdchat
A2: So many answers to this question. Difficult to narrow it down to one thing. There are so many things that all seem "important". It's sometimes difficult to determine the "real" important things from the "fake" important things. Prioritizing can be tricky. #aledchat
A2: Using social media to broadcast the positive is awesome, but it encourages a habit to always be focused on the screen. It’s addicting and bleeds into time I should be spending in conversation or interaction with my family or others present. It’s a constant challenge.#ALedchat
A2: type A personality ... overcommitting... usually that results in personal stuff put on back burner...Feb will be a true test of my “balance”😜 #ALedchat

A2: Honest answer is me.... but I'm slowly learning if I can't always do for others without doing something for me at some point. I've learned this month when what's supposed to be first is (my time with God), the rest falls into place. #ALedchat
I wouldn't have it any other way. But I must say, when I'm at the beach, I'm good with doing nothing except reading a good book in the sun! :-) #ALedchat
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
A2: My drive to do things perfectly stands in my way. Often times it feels like if I'm excelling at work then I'm slacking at home and vice versa. I want to be perfect in every role-teacher, wife, mother, daughter, sister, etc. I stand in my own way. #ALedchat#UMedTech
A2 - Shutting down mentally so that you can focus on other things for personal upkeep & wellbeing. However, passion drives motivation, which drives continuous improvement, therefore, it’s near impossible to totally shut it off to go home. #ALedchat
A2: Thinking back, I am not sure I have ever said no to a professional request, but I have turned away my family. Not very balanced at all! #ALedchat#UMedTech
A3 Practice what you preach, hold others accountable, and make the message clear. Family and self first, we work smarter, not harder - don't live at school. #ALedchat
I would say that you're in balance if you are passionate about the things you're doing. Stay away from those who tell you shouldn't be doing so much "school stuff." #ALedchat
A3. Intentionality -- healthy, balanced people are intentional with their time. We all have the same amount of time, but different responsibilities and desires. How we budget our time through an intentional lens makes all the difference #ALedchat
A3: I feel like when I spend too much time focused on work that my family and me time suffers but if I’m. It staying on top of my work I can’t focus on family. It’s a vicious cycle #ALedchat#UMedTech
A2: lack of support, organization, knowledge or time in general. Collaborate, teamwork, speak up and ask for assistance when needed. #UMEdTech#ALedchat
A2-it can be difficult to get it all done in a normal "work day." I feel guilty because sometimes my family gets "the leftovers." Time management is crucial. #ALedchat
A3- because finding a balance is hard when you have human desire in the way. We can be part of the solution by maintaining a positive attitude and providing positive comments. Also by becoming happy with yourself if you are happy with yourself then balance can be found #ALedchat
A3: Because we live in a world of instant gratification and are "always on" we feel that if we are asked of something that we must respond - now. We are educators it is in our nature to respond to needs. Hard to turn that off. #ALedchat
#aledchat A3: The reality of limited jobs for too many workers. We work as if our livelihood depends on it......and it might. Solution? There's no easy one. It takes leadership to say "it's ok to complete less work."
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
A3 - Collaborative sharing & encouragement! Not reinventing the wheel to attempt a different look & realizing in the end it’s the same as was already there! And, mentoring those entering that balance is a MUST! #ALedchat
A3: We can find ways to support this balance by modeling what is important and being a support network for others. Don’t force people to choose their job over families, etc... #aledchat
A3. So many just have trouble with balancing a family and work- they want to be perfect at both. Being a great friend and colleague- collaborate and encourage! #ALedchat#UMEdTech
A3: Education o#has become a competitive industry as capital has reduced while job expectations increase. The system is imbalanced. Once we call it out, label it then we can set boundaries and commit to balance. #aledchat
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
A3: People feel this because IT is unhealthy. As teacher leaders or admins we need to encourage staff and colleagues to take time for themselves. #ALedchat#UMedTech
Perhaps one thing that makes this balance difficult for us educators is the narrative that public education has to “fix” our students. How can we possibly say no to that mission even though the burden is unreasonably heavy. Say no to obiwan syndrome! #aledchat
A3: If you chose to work after hours, take advantage of tools like Boomerang to schedule your emails to send during the workday, not at night when others may feel compelled to act on them. #aledchat
A3: Accountability and Encouragement.....sometimes I think we push ourselves as educators to an out of balance point because we think we have to. #aledchat
A3: I think we need periodic refreshers on time management. The balance comes when it is planned. Always exceptions but mostly, I have to plan when I’m having fun, when I’m enjoying a hobby, etc. If it’s on the planner, it’s happening. #ALedchat
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
A# I have been sharing with younger teachers the importance of balance and using myself as "what you don't want to do" #aledchat BUT I'm afraid people are just wired to be the type that one aspect of their life is "overdone"
Lack of support is HUGE! I think this stems from the top. Great admin build their team up and understand the importance of balancing work and home life! #ALedchat#UMEdTech
A3: Perhaps there are so many people who feel an unbalance between work and life because of the unrealistic expectations we set for ourselves. Social media may play a role too, as we may feel we need to keep up. #ALedchat
A3: Technology allows us to be accessible 24/7 to colleagues, administrators, and parents. This encroachment bleeds into family/me time, which knocks everything out of balance. #ALedchat#UMedTech
A3: We have a hard time prioritizing our time and effort. It's all important. We need to encourage our people that is ok to put our families on a level playing field with work....or ahead of it even.
#ALedchat
A3: solution- like with our students- MODEL. I throw elbows on B-BALL court at recess... in my heels... I love getting active with my kiddos and they love it too! During indoor recess we do teambuilding drills/relays in gym if available. My teammates and kids love it! #ALedchat
A3: Many people struggle with hierarchies of focus. Being able to manage all aspects of your life and work is a great, big, balancing act. In order to help this, people could put more effort into some aspects and less into others. #ALedchat
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
I think social media plays a big role... unless a person is clear about their personal values & mission, he/she can get sidetracked by social media. #ALedchat
A4: Has increased!! I can respond to emails while waiting in the checkout line instead of doing that when I get home ! I hate emails in the inbox!! #ALedchat
A3: I think many of us try to multi-task to an extreme. We want to be everything to everybody all the time - more so than any time in history. We don’t need to do more. We need to do less with greater focus. #ALedchat
A4: A little of both. I'm always "connected" and sometimes feel encroached upon but it also lets me do a lot of my work when it's convenient for me. #aledchat
A4: Both. It increases the tools I have to help automate certain tasks freeing up time, yet it leaves us all so accessible to the point it encroaches on personal time. #ALedchat
A4 - It’s really a double-edged sword! It’s enhanced our efficiency& effectiveness, while making the pressures greater to walk away & leave the stress & duress @ school. It’s hard to leave work at the office with the technology we now have available! #ALedchat
A4: in many ways it was helped. Now that we have the ability to do so many things from home we are not forced to stay at school long nights. But it also makes turning things off difficult because we are always connected. #UMedTech#EDL577UM#ALedchat
A4: increased. I love that I can answer a quick email or text at a red light, in the grocery check out, Costco Gas Line🤦🏼♀️,etc. Type A-don’t like to waste time. So allows me to be productive while I wait! #ALedchat
A4- I think it has decreased it because smart phones can be the death of us because everything is at the touch of our hand. Just have to learn to sit it down and set aside time with out it and not reach or jump every time you hear it ding! That is easier said than done #ALedchat
A3 people get too busy and some work too much. The solution is slowing down the pace. Also, the greatest form of meditation is focusing on the task at hand...not looking ahead. #ALedchat
A4: Technology has the capacity to help or hurt the balance of life and work. It's important to remember that we are in control of our focus. #ALEdchat#EDL577UM#UMEdTech
A4) contrary to popular opinion I would say it had increased for me as they’ve blended together and not in a bad way but in a way that doesn’t tip the scales #ALedchat
A3: So many people feel this way because of the fast-paced society we are living in. We are turning circles daily. A solution would be to hold DEAR (Drop Everything And Relax) time at work and home. At school we are doing Drop Everything And Read. #ALedchat#UMedTech
With technology, we are never out of touch. We seem to never truly leave work behind due to constant contact through email, Google Classroom, Edmodo, etc. What makes life easier also makes it more difficult. Sometimes, you have to disconnect to get your balance back. #ALEdChat
Q3: Why are there so many people who feel like their work & life is out of balance or less than healthy, & how can we be a part of the solution? #ALedchat
A4: I believe it has increased my ability. Being able to access your personal life through tech during work is a great help. Only at appropriate times, of course! #ALedchat
A1: I believe that keeping it balanced and healthy that I must be able to disconnections certain degree. My health and balance is highly based on if I enjoy what I do on a day to day basis. And, I do. I choose to teach. #ALedchat
A4. Neither - Technology is neutral - either you are intentional with your time, or you are not. if you are not intentional with your time, the presence of absence of technology will not change that #ALedchat
A3: The world sells the message that we’re never adequate, & the inaccurate presumption is that others are after seeing only smiling posts. We must strive to be genuine, positive, loving peacemakers, honest & humbly vulnerable. We must make it our habit to serve. #ALedchat
A4: Technology has allowed me to work more from home, which can be both good and bad. Social media can be a distraction as well. I think we need to be present in mind and body when we are with our families, which means no phones! #ALedchat#UMedTech
A4: While technology has increased our ability to do more while being more efficient with our time, those go-getter, perfectionist personalities (like myself) may feel the need to fit even more in. We need to remember to balance work and play. #aledchat
A4. Neither - Technology is neutral - either you are intentional with your time, or you are not. if you are not intentional with your time, the presence or absence of technology will not change that #ALedchat
A4: Technology has the capacity to help or hurt the balance of life and work. It's important to remember that we are in control of our focus. #ALEdchat#EDL577UM#UMEdTech
A3: When one aspect of our life falls short or lacks the necessary attention, we feel like we are losing control and things are unbalanced. Solution: slow down, regroup and refocus. #ALedchat#UMEdTech
A4-self discipline is a must--technology has created the ability to help with balance--but it can also kill balance with access to tech 24-7. #ALedchat
A4: Technology helps and hinders my ability to balance life. For ex. My bank app allows me to deposit checks w/ my phone w/o going to the bank, but on the flip side I spend hours doing useless things on my technology. #ALedchat#UMedTech
A2: life stand in my way. I care too much and want to attend all the functions, but realistically I know that I can not. I need my kids to know that I care, but I need my family time as well. #ALedchat
A3: Sometimes I walked down the halls and clap my hands together and remind everyone to let’s have some fun today! Kids look at me crooked sometimes but I hope to think that it’s that type of spirit and energy that invites and ignites inspiration and motivation. #ALedchat
The perspective of history helps me too. It’s very unlikely that anyone will remember my name in 200 years, whether or not my entire career was successful, let alone the outcome of this “big” project I’m working on. So chill a little with my real legacy: my girls! #aledchat
#aledchat A4 -Technology changed the way I work. I can do more in less time than I ever thought possible. Have to be intentional with relationships and make sure to unplug.
A4: Definitely decreased. Trying to do better about “going dark” on my phone when I’m with my family or just trying to relax. It’s so hard not to answer a text or email when someone needs help or an answer. #ALedchat
A4: I’m honest when I say this: technology sometimes is a burden. I’m still mainly a face-to-face person. And I read books I hold in my hand. People matter to me. Feels like I cheat them when I’m always connected. #aledchat
A4: I guess I am of the generation that has always had tech apart of their lives so I really can’t imagine my life without it. When I got a job, I learned how to use it differently than as a student/socially. It became even more of a tool/necessity! #ALedchat
#ALedchat it’s really knowing when to rest. Stephen Covey teaches us to plan your week every week and make sure you schedule your big rocks. That includes the big rocks at home!
A5: Silence! We live in a very noisy world and I have found that spending 5-10 minutes in complete silence per day is very helpful in putting your mind at ease and decreasing all of the stressful distractions. #ALedchat
I struggle with this, too, Jennifer. My problem is I can't seem to say "no" to work or family requests. I want to help everyone but then "me" time becomes non-existent. I don't want to quit helping; I enjoy it. I just wish I could balance it all better. #ALedchat#UMedTech
Both. Technology let’s me plan ahead and organize and create. It also takes time to do that. However, the ability for students/parents/family, etc to just reach out and message you at any time can interfere with your down time. #ALEdChat
A4. I think it has to do with we can no longer "see" what we have produced (or our subordinates) each day a la an in/out box sitting on a desk. The inability to see your productivity daily leads you to thinking you've done less than you have. #aledchat
A4. (continued) Also, with all applications having a notification of some sort, it can be easy to get off task and check the chime. Discipline is a must or else you are drinking from a fire hydrant. #aledchat
A5: “unplugging” for holidays, weekends, vacations or turning your phone completely off. My personal favorite and the only place I don’t have the urge to check anything:Disney World #UMEdTech#ALedchat
A5: I am competitive so I train for Spartan Races twice a year. This clears my brain and gets me ready for the day while also giving me a goal:) #ALedchat#UMedTech
A4: Decreased....it seems like there is an expectation to always be available. Setting time aside for life outside work, and sticking with it, is essential but hard for me to always follow through with. #ALedchat
A5 Don't answer work emails after you leave your driveway & enter your home. If that's not possible, designate a short time period each night to check emails. Read. Meditate. Walk... #ALedchat
A5: Having a set time when all technology is turned off. Curl up to a good book or your favorite TV show and turn off outside world. Have family device free dinners. #UMedTech#EDL577UM#ALedchat
A5: Some ways to focus on relaxing more are to have scheduled times for things you enjoy like a gym class or mindless TV show. Remembering family needs you as much as work needs you is also a great tip! Turn off your brain, and turn up being mindful and having fun! #ALedchat
A5- turning your phone off! I like to put my phone in another room and just sit in my recliner and find a good show on the television. When I actually do this I am able to truly relax and disconnect! #ALedchat
A5: I literally read for an entire hour before I go to bed. I have to immerse my self in a story that is so different from my life to escape in a sense. If I don't, I lie awake with a work to do list scrolling through my brain and can never get to sleep. #ALedchat
A5: Have a goal at home before you go to bed even if its mopping all the floors and when asked how was your day always respond "great'! Moving along! #ALedchat
A5: This one magical time my husband and I were fortunate enough to take a trip to #Hawaii. That is the only time I think I’ve ever achieved this! 😂 #takemeback#ALedchat
A4: decreased because I work more at home now than I ever did. Plus tweeting, snapping, sending remind messages and watching videos for class. Geesh, It doesn’t stop. But my husband had a unique way of saying it’s time to disconnect Stef! #ALedchat
Working out really helps to shut down & get away from work, as well as having a hobby or two. All of us should have something outside of school we pursue bc we want too! Also, simply being intentional @ disconnecting works wonders! #ALedchat
A2) I struggle with turning it off when I get home. I find myself strolling through twitter to continue to learn and see what others are implementing in their schools for kids. #ALedchat
I've learned sometimes the expectation of our availability comes from us. If we reply/respond right away, it becomes expected from others, we feel it, we meet the expectations.
Make an appointment with yourself and keep it! :-) #ALedchat
A4: Both. It helps with making things happen faster but it hurts because so much time is spent using technology that it takes away from family. #UMedTech#ALedchat
A5-never lose sight of the little things. Pray. Take a walk and count my blessings. And, occasionally--eat a snickers bar or go to the thrift store and find some treasure. #ALedchat
#aledchat A5: become a student at something somewhere. Take a piano class, martial arts, something. I know that's the "busy-body" solution to relaxing/recharging.....but it does get your mind off of work and ON to something that is all about YOU.
Dis.Conn.Ect. When I go to the lake or somewhere to relax, I leave my phone out of reach. I check it in the morning and at night. The rest is my time. #ALEdChat
A5: A5: I turned off the notifications from my work email on my phone. I have to open the app to check email. I also highly recommend reading “A Simplified Life” by: @EmilyLey! So many great tips for simplified living- living with balance! #ALedchat
A5: Do something new you have interest in from time to time. I like to go to new places. I enjoy unique bookstores & collecting pottery. Little adventures will save you. Pausing & resting so you don’t up & quit as @anniefdowns says. #aledchat
A5: I turned off the notifications from my work email on my phone. I have to open the app to check email. I also highly recommend reading “A Simplified Life” by: @EmilyLey! So many great tips for simplified living- living with balance! #ALedchat
Just like anything, set boundaries early. Growing up, my parents told me that we don't answer the phone during dinner, and I wasn't allowed on the phone past a certain point. Those were good things. We need to do similar now for ourselves. #ALedchat
A5: I enjoy meditating.I use an app on my phone to assist. : ) It sends me a message to remind me to meditate. I also schedule my down time in my calendar (Girl's Night Out, Date Night, etc.).
#ALedchat#UMedTech
A5: Make a place/space/time where/when you never think about work. Spacial cues connect to memory. You can help yourself disconnect from work by having places where it is never allowed to come. And then going there. #aledchat
A5: Do something new you have interest in from time to time. I like to go to new places. I enjoy unique bookstores & collecting pottery. Little adventures will save you. Pausing & resting so you don’t up & quit as @anniefdowns says. #aledchat
A5: I try to stay at least an hour after school each day to work there and leave it there if I can. On gMe days, I come home and cook dinner and get things ready for the grand daughter and husband so the work load is not on him. I also spend 6 hrs for myself each wkend. #ALedchat
A5) I’ve been trying to exercise a few times a week after school in our weight room and it has made a huge difference. When there is a group of staff it’s even better! #ALedchat
A5. Let your phone die from time to time. Be unavailable to work, but available to family and yourself--fully in the moment. Trust me, if the problem is bad enough, someone will call you. Even after they emailed...you will still be in the know. #ALedchat
A4: It is a double-edged sword. It has increased efficiency while drawing me in to an addictive level of learning. I intentionally unplug for the sake of balance. #aledchat
A5: I set aside 1hr to clear my mind after school. My @onepeloton has really helped me stay motivated and gives me 1 hour a day to do nothing but something for myself. (Can’t say my brain ever stops though during that time. I’m just clipped in and can’t get out😂)
A5: Remove phone(place elsewhere), then read a book/chapter of a book w/ your kids, sit on the floor & play toys with them, do a puzzle, etc. When it feels uncomfortable, when you get that finger itch to check the device- rejoice each time you’re able to refuse it! #ALedchat
A7: I am working on planning meals in advance and not hitting the drive through late at night when done for the day or after events. Cutting back on diet dew too. #BlessThoseAroundMe#DewLover#aledchat
A5. Let your phone die from time to time. Be unavailable to work, but available to family and yourself--fully in the moment. Trust me, if the problem is bad enough, someone will call you. Even after they emailed...you will still be in the know. #ALedchat
#aledchat A6: That's the key: Add to your life by SUBTRACTING. I need to remember a quote from Bruce Lee: Learn to tell the difference between those who want to steal your time and those who want to share it.
A5: I mentioned this in an earlier post, but having a DEAR time is something I learned from a co-worker. DEAR-Drop Everything And Relax. You can set the time of day and how long it lasts. Keep it consistent and find what works for you during that time. #ALedchat#UMedTech
A6: I can stop and think before I volunteer. I can ask myself if what I am volunteering for is worth the time it will take away from my personal life. #ALedchat#UMedTech
A5: Turning electronic devices off for a period of time. Reading a good book or doing something else you love. Treating yourself to a spa service. Taking a mini-vacation. Spending time with family/loved ones. #ALedchat
A5: Lots of things seem to help me detox a bit: yoga, working out, hiking, reading, playing piano, gardening, sewing, binge watching TV with my family.... #ALedchat
We could not be more excited that @NSPRA President @tomdelapp is coming to lead our professional development for our conference on March 1st! Register today: https://t.co/8nWRTeLCct
A6: I can stop loving cake so much. Because I do. I can stop making a big deal about exercise time. I’m just so dramatic about it. I’ve been practicing getting going instead of it needing to be the perfect exercise routine. Moving counts. #aledchat
I am working on a work out schedule with the family, putting my phone away once I get home, planning more in advance and most importantly remembering to take care of me so I can take care of them. #ALedchat
Final A - Being purposeful, intentional, & positive! See challenges as opportunities & ward off the energy vampires that suck the life right out of me! Right, @JonGordon11#ALedchat
This a big deal folks! Interested in growing your skills in engaging stakeholders? This is where you should be on March 1! #k12prchat#ALedchat@alabamaschoolpr

This is important to understand. The hard thing is it is different for everyone. There isn’t a specific formula for it. It is great to have people in our lives that can keep us in check as well. #ALedchat
Final A: Set aside time to sharpen the saw and stick with it....everyday. Making myself a priority and taking care of myself allows me the ability to have more to give others. #ALedchat
Final A: Remain calm & positive for our competition that we lost a week of practice time due to snow. It’s about the experience and as long as it’s a meaningful and positive one I will feel successful! #UMEdTech#ALedchat
A6: Stop living life on the go! Meal prep so your not eating fast food every meal, don't stay up to binge watch episodes of your favorite show-get enough sleep, and stop stressing out! #ALedchat#UMedTech
A6: Put my phone and computer away after hours. That’s likely my biggest hurdle. Second to that, I need to learn the word “no” as so many others have said tonight. I feel lazy when I’m idle, always have. Need to enjoy being lazy! #ALedchat
I can’t meal prep and I teach Culinary🙈. There’s so many good shows on right now I find this easy to do, thank goodness for on demand! #UMEdTech#ALedchat
I'm so thankful to the #ALedchat team and everyone who participated tonight! Y'all are awesome!! I hope you all have a great week and reach your health & balance goals! #ALedchat
LOL Brandi! I just started meal prepping so I'm no expert and I am certainly guilty of binge watching shows on demand. Lately I've been hooked on #TheGoodDoctorABC#ALedchat#UMedTech
