A3. I use Nearpod to facilitate a start, stop, continue. Also, student vote with their choice. Do they gravitate to one option more than another? #UDLchat

Q4: How do you support learners with the opportunities to establish their own learning goals? #UDLchat
  • ElizabethLStein - Moderator Sep 5 @ 9:25 PM EDT
Well we all need to start--and not stop! :) We need to get off the content area conveyor belt...and be with, with, with, our students and learn alongside their unique brilliance. It's just so simple! And so powerful! #UDLchat

A4: I teach younger students, so we spend a lot of time in the beginning of the year discussing learning goals in student-friendly language. After a lot of modelling they are ready to begin setting individualized goals for themselves #udlchat
  • bcscedtech Sep 5 @ 9:28 PM EDT
A4 - Being intentional about allotted time. Google Keep is a great tool to help keep things organized. #UDLchat
  • edtechqueen Sep 5 @ 9:28 PM EDT
A4-I ask Ts to set a learning goal for the PD session @ the beginning based on what we’ll learn. How will you know you were successful when you leave? Keeps them focused & on track. They monitor their own learning #UDLchat
    • BGentilleGreen Sep 5 @ 9:25 PM EDT
Q4: How do you support learners with the opportunities to establish their own learning goals? #UDLchat
  • mmvanfossan Sep 5 @ 9:28 PM EDT
A4 I'm a firm believer you have to start with the data! Learners knowing where they ”are” helps them design meaningful, relevant goals. #UDLchat
  • FritzTesha Sep 5 @ 9:28 PM EDT
A4: Give students opportunities to experiment with various support structures until they find what works for them. Like reading logs, or story boards, or a voice recording log... whatever works best for them. #UDLchat @BGentilleGreen

A4: I find that even with college students (or maybe, especially with college students) you have to facilitate the choice-making. #UDLchat
  • kathclarkED Sep 5 @ 9:28 PM EDT
A3: Students hands down have some of the greatest ideas out there. Who better to come up with ideas to demonstrate their learning than students themselves? #Listen #FosterCreativity #YouDoNotKnowUntilYouTry #Openmindedness #UDLchat

  • lindsayjoslater Sep 5 @ 9:29 PM EDT
A4: Share outcomes based on content but also ask participants to reflect on and record their own learning goals through questions and also periodic check-ins. #udlchat

#udlchat A4) after identifying learning intention tied to standard or content delivered, I then ask..what are you hoping to accomplish at end of lesson, presentation, etc. Tech used mentimeter to express own goals

@BGentilleGreen #UDLchat A4 The best way to support students in the creation of their own learning goals is allowing room for curiosity to turn into content that counts in the classroom.
