A1: My favorite moment(s) so far this year was collaborating with and working with @ADWCathSchools principals and teachers during many professional development opportunities. #ADWTeach
Q1: For me it was spending time with Ts in their #adwlearn PD days. I also loved that I got to go out to more schools and see Ts and Ss learning and doing! #adwteach
Q2: Wish I had some advice when I was teaching. If I had to do it over again, I would remind myself that I can't fix them all. I need to ask for help and advice and know when to take a break so that I could be there for the long haul. #teacherburnout is a real thing. #adwteach

A2: AMEN @LauraKRoland I had #teacherburnout after a few short years. I wish I had a #mentor teacher throughout my first year(s) to help guide me. I think a teacher mentor program would be a great idea for our new teachers. #ADWTeach

Weeeeelllllllll, if tonite's low turnout here is any indication we have some work to do! Ps need to understand the benefits of scheduling time for this during their in-school PD. Ts need to see it modeled effectively. #adwteach
There are so many barriers to T to T collaboration-I think that’s where some of the work needs to be. And! Ts need to see the benefits of things like Twitter chats beyond just talking. #adwteach
A3 Plus TIME is a huge factor for teachers. Those willing to take some extra time out of their day to connect with other innovative educators like themselves will ultimately be the ones who reap the benefits. #ADWTeach
A2: Don't neglect your family life or health for vocation/job. Set boundaries. I feel guilty when I need to take sick time...(my own feelings)#adwteach
Q4: 1/2 Like @adwcurriculum said, there is definitely a theme here tonite. The more I talk with Ts the more they see this type of thing as "one more thing I have to do" rather than " one more good thing I want to do" We have to change the mindset. #adwteach
A4 - We rotate our staff meetings to different rooms in the building and then let the “host” share a piece of student thinking / unit plan / idea and get feedback from the rest of the staff! #ADWTeach
YES, YES, YES! I absolutely LOVE professional development. I enjoy learning more about my craft... I used to come to my classroom over an hour early every morning and wouldn't leave until at least and hour after the kids left. #ADWTeach
Q4 2/2: @ArchbaltSchools held a Saturday PD which was not required and they had almost 300 Ts come - to talk and learn from each other. Maybe that's another way to get folks connected? @allisonwist#adwteach
A4 I think choice is a great motivator. Being told you HAVE to do something is a much different approach than inviting someone to an opportunity. It also helps if you can see direct impact on your job and the kids. #adwteach
@WISSIT_DC has a great network of educators. There is lots on offer for principals and school leaders to learn about building a culture of thinking amongst staff! #ADWTeach

I have a passel of small children and going to events on the weekends are hard on all of us. I wonder if after school or evening events (or even virtual) would be better attended. #adwteach

I LOVE PD! I really enjoy talking and learning from other teachers, but it can be hard with so much going on. I wonder if there are projects that could be set aside to relieve some pressure. #adwteach

#ADWTeach A5) @DonBoscoCR does an awesome lesson study plan within departments. Each department selects a topic to build a lesson plan around, than 1 T delivers the lesson and the rest of.the dept watches/takes notes
A5 falling into mentality is easy when you have other staff who egg it on. When you have teachers who LOVE what they do and their eagerness to learn is contagious, that's when you get teachers who are willing and eager for PD #ADWTeach#BeThereDoneThat#NegativityIsContagious
A5 #adwteach How about a teacher swap? How often do T’s get to see what other schools are doing? Could you facilitate subs to allow for some shadowing and mentoring within the ADW?
Have been impressed with Cultures of Thinking #ccot observations protocols developed by @RonRitchhart & educators he's been working with in Australia. We have used/adapted them @WISRedDevils for peer-to-peer obs. They focus observer on student thinking on display. #wissit18

A6 we have a Voxer group with #CatholicEdChat and it really is a place where people share and ask for help. I really enjoy it, it’s very informal and a different interface than a Twitter chat where they are all public posts. #adwteach
That is a good idea, will keep that one in mind. We are looking to set something up in the future. I have been trying so hard to get educators to join #ADWTeach though our little group chats are amazing, it would be great to grow our #ADW#PLN
