Happy New Year y'all! I'm excited to kick start 2019 with you, @mr_isaacs and @davidlbalmer Jenny here from Apex, North Carolina representing @_ProjectEd My goal tonight is to keep my Q1s and A1s straight... or at least remember to add the A1 part... haha #edtechbridge
Hey all. Steve from NJ. I teach game design and development to middle school students in NJ and am involved in research on XR in the classroom. Also advise game club / #esports program. #oneword is love. #oneword2019#edtechbridge
A1: I really want to continue to encourage students to take control of their learning. I want them to go above and beyond and create their learning path. #edtechbridge.
A1: Sometimes I feel so removed from student learning! But as always, I keep students top of mind whenever working w/ a client on a product. My focus is on quality, always. & helping make sure users aren't drowning in data; keep things purposeful & actionable! #edtechbridge

Hello #EdTechBridge - sorry I’m a tad late to the party! Christine, Director of Tech and Innovation from NJ and my #OneWord2019 is “happiness”! And here is my happy dance...
Q2: 2019, how do you plan to increase value in yourself / others in your school, office, and / or learning community? What is your topic focus goal for yourself professionally? #edtechbridge
A1: My goal for student learning is engagement. If we can keep kids engaged and excited- they will learn. If we can engage them in experiential learning- they will remember those experiences and the result will be deeper learning. #EdTechBridge
Hey Steve! Was just talking about you yesterday at #NJECC. Recommending you and @TechedUpTeacher as the go to people for edusports and gaming. #edtechbridge
A2: I have some great projects that are providing opportunities for me to bring #xr hackathons to kids in underserved communities, get to help bring great educators together, and of course can support my students and staff in my school every day! #edtechbridge
Q2: 2019, how do you plan to increase value in yourself / others in your school, office, and / or learning community? What is your topic focus goal for yourself professionally? #edtechbridge
A2: to increase value for myself is to continue learning with and from my amazing students, #PLN etc. #alwayslearning#learningisbeautiful#edtechbridge. And of course remembering BALANCE. family, fitness, fun and learning!
Q2: 2019, how do you plan to increase value in yourself / others in your school, office, and / or learning community? What is your topic focus goal for yourself professionally? #edtechbridge
A2: To increase my value in '19, I'd like to learn more about the higher ed space. W/ my teaching experience, I feel most confident in the K12 edtech space, but I have room to grow in understanding higher ed, corporate, & adult learning trends. Who should I follow? #edtechbridge

Q2: My top focus for myself is to take a risk on something that is way out of my comfort zone and embrace the big dreams. For me it’s an #esportsedu program for our district even though I’m game-illiterate. Pushing my own boundaries! #EdTechBridge

A2 Taking a major leap out of my comfort zone with an after school coding and robotics club. Hoping to start integrating some vr and gaming as well. #edtechbridge

A3: I’m 2019 my hope is that we create opportunities for students to have greater choice, share their voice, and feel empowered @EdTechBridge@mr_isaacs#EdTechBridge
A3: I'm keeping a close eye on AI,
on districts being more creative with what counts as PD/CEUs (Twitter chats, anyone?), on SEL - not the ideas, but edtech solutions, on the attitude towards higher ed & what students find meaningful in terms of being career ready #edtechbridge
A3: #ARVRinEDU is amazing! The ways to expose Ss far beyond the restrictive walls of the classroom is incredible! Also- building empathy, compassion, and fostering global awareness are all things that we can leverage edtech to accomplish. #edtechbridge

My focus goal for myself is continuing to work towards my doctoral program and spend more time research on my dissertation topic on Artificial Intelligence and Teaching. #Edtechbridge. With this focus, I want to begin introducing my students in creating and using AI in the clsrm

A3: Defining educational innovation and the design of learning environments that support innovation, always playing around in immersive and #gbl learning, too! #edtechbridge

Oh my! Guess if you have to be a martyr that’s the place :) #edtechbridge. We are planning our summer trip including facilitating a STEAM summer school program :)
Yes! Planning on doing a combination of research with engineers and research with teachers. With both persepctive hope to bring them together for the sake of our students. #edtechbridge
A4: Lack of global awareness should NOT exist when the world is just a click away. With opportunities to explore and collaborate, we need to break the barriers btwn kids! Edtech is a doorway to the global community. #GoogleEarth@EmpaticoOrg#edtechbridge
A3: SEL and Empathy are hot topics in edu. #edtech could certainly get involved. I believe we have great potential with #ARVRinedu in these areas. #edtechbridge
A4: Helping students feel empowered with the mindset, networks, tools and skills to change their own world. Everything has been designed, and can be redesigned to make it better. #edtechbridge
Amen and still some of my favorite #edtech tools are limited when it comes to #globaled. We need to get past the short sightedness of liability and create opportunities to collaborate globally #edtechbridge

A4: I can't help but wonder how edtech might be leveraged to *help* solve some school safety issues. The sheer amount of drills & shootings is terrifying. There's got to be a way edtech vendors can step in to support change in this area... #edtechbridge
I couldn’t agree more!!! So much opportunity to grow globally aware and empathetic citizens through the immersive experiences offered through #ARVRinEdu! #edtechbridge
I have a friend working on an active shooter project in #VR. Not sure if I can mention names just yet but I think it’s going to revolutionize safety training #edtechbridge#ARVRinEdu
This is so true. With the several projects I have been involved in over the years I have had students connect to people or other students in Spain, Venezuela, China, New Zealand and other states throughout the US. Really great experiences for the students. #edtechbridge
A5: For me it’s about training teachers. At my school we are 1 to 1 chrome books but many classrooms only bring out the laptops for free choice game time. #edtechbridge
A5: Am I a broken record? I want all vendors to listen, truly listen, to educators. But for that to work, educators, you've got to be 100% open & honest. A vendor recently shared user testing can feel like a waste if product feedback from Ts is almost too positive #edtechbridge
I am looking for ways to set up engaging work that students can direct and work on independently with #EdTech when I need to work with another group of students #edtechbridge
Bryan Sanders, high school English, Culver City, CA
Late but here!
A5: Communication is the only path to collaboration. Everyone needs to be willing to hear each other out and collaborate to provide what kids really need. #edtechbridge

Signing off #edtechbridge - this is Jenny, consultant from @_ProjectEd living in NC. My favorite takeaway is listening to all the biggest problems you'd like edtech to solve. Can't wait to take these back to my team in NY and CA!
