@chlupa, I am seriously all for that next year. 7pm always hits my family right at bedtime, and I don't make it half the time (or I'm tweeting in the dark beside the crib). @damonhargraves and @spiralEDU , what do you think? #akedchat

A1: For me, I feel burned out the most when I don't have the resources I need to lead a really great lesson. Usually, that equates to not having enough bandwidth at my site. #akedchat
Q2: Part of the professional teacher struggle is maintaining a workload balance that leaves enough time energy for your personal home life. What healthy boundaries have you created to help keep work at work? #akedchat
A2: I decided not to set up my work email on my personal cell phone. Except for rare occasions, work emails are read and written at work. My home time is for family. #akedchat
I bring a work bag to and from school every day, like clockwork . . . and I have no idea why. I can never make myself open it once I get home! #akedchat
A3: I keep telling myself I'm going to keep up with my blog, but the cost of uploading data (photos, video) is so prohibitive. I want to start running, but my youngest hid my left tennis shoe *somewhere*. (Making excuses is my current personal hobby, apparently) #akedchat
Q4: Many people find reading to be a healthy escape from a stressful day job. What is your favorite non-educational book you read over and over again? #akedchat
It’s sunny right now after a week of rain... finding the balance between PLN and enjoying the sun ☀️ is hard this time of year. Winter is easier lol #akedchat

A4: #HarryPotter will forever have a place in my heart! I also really enjoy any books written by Sarah Maas. Give me a fantasy with a good heroine and I'm sold. #akedchat
lol Like I said, I have some catching up to do. My 3 year old really wants a popsicle right now, and I had to tell him sorry...Mommy is working. His response: "Well, that was not the right answer. Try again, Mommy." :D . #akedchat
A4: I like to read history. The Alexander Hamilton biography by Ron Chernow is excellent. #akedchat Also, don't be afraid to "read" books on tape while you are doing housework or working out.
Like you said earlier, you can always add to the chat later. The part we will miss with the slow chat is the focused time with lots of tweets. I'm leaning towards keeping a specific time. #akedchat

And gives you time to decompress, shake off the day, and focus on being mindful at home! Great idea. My shorter commute this year has definitely impacted my mood at home during the first hour or so after work. #akedchat
Q6: Deadlines, due dates, and tired students can create overwhelmed teachers...it happens to the best of us! How do you find joy in an educational climate that becomes stressful? #akedchat
A6: Had a mentor once tell me - "You see what you look for." When I feel stressed or down, I purposely look for just one good thing. A positive student interaction, no matter how short...a task accomplished...anything. #akedchat
A6: I also try to write one positive note or email to a student per day. I don't always meet that goal, but I try. It helps battle through the days when it seems like nothing is going right. #akedchat

Q7: It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and chances are that you have a colleague currently feeling unappreciated . . . suffering from the dreaded BurnOut. What is one thing you can do for that person this week? #akedchat
When I was asst. principal I tried to make two or three positive calls home every day. That call was good for kids, parents, and my communication, but it was also just good for me. #akedchat
A7: I try to find out my colleagues' favorite candy bar/coffee order/etc throughout the year, so I can deliver a treat anonymously with an encouraging note when it seems like they have been having a rough week. Admittedly, I have not done a great job with this lately. #akedchat
A7: Go tell them why/how you appreciate them. Tell them about what others are saying about them (positive). Recognize them in front of others for the great things they are doing. #akedchat
