Getting up in time for a 7 AM Saturday morning meeting is not the easiest thing I do all week, but it is probably one of the most beneficial. #EduGladiators

Tweeting from the mountains outside of Denver. I'm engaged in adult education and corporate training. So glad to see my good friend @D4Griffin3 leading the charge today. #edugladiators
7am would be a glorious time to wake up! But that’s ok. Snuggles with my littlest while chatting with all you #EduGladiators is a fantastic way to start the weekend!
Hey #EduGladiators crew! I'm Jessica, Principal/DAC in rural Wisconsin. Happy to see the sun shining today and thrilled to join this chat for a bit before soccer games start!
A1: By having frequent educational conversations to discuss hopes, dreams, struggles and barriers that stand in the way of making visions become a reality. #Edugladiators
A1: They have to be inspired by others! It’s human nature to meet the expectation, but nothing more. That drive to overachieve comes from being inspired by others around you and thinking “I can do that too!” #edugladiators
A1 By spreading the message that it is okay to take risks, that the only thing stopping us is ourselves, to challenge ourselves to see what is possible #EduGladiators
Morning, #edugladiators. I'm Brian. I teach MS students English in Colorado. As for A1, I favor gentle questioning of limits people assume for themselves -- kind of amateur cognitive behavioral therapy through dialogue.
A1: I believe in building off of educators' strengths and lead them with a coaching hat to help empower them to grow in areas they recognize/want to grow in. #edugladiators
A1 A leader must know how to ask the right questions to invite someone into reflection. Reflection leads to the moment of enlightenment. This takes trust and patience. True development is a process. #edugladiators
A1) As a leader you can’t control others, you have to work to guide others, give them ownership of their process and guide them along the way #EduGladiators
A1 Limits can be reached and readjusted when you have someone behind you to support or next to you to partner or in front of you to lead you to the next step. You can be that person for someone. #EduGladiators
A1. Questioning works best for me. I ask these and am always amazed at the responses:
1. Is your current work representative of your best work?
2. Do you believe you have reached your maximum potential?
3.What would your work look like at your peak potential?
#EduGladiators
A1: Excitement and positivity are contagious. Letting others see this as you pursue your passion projects or create opportunities for major collaborations can have a huge and often unexpected impact #positivenoise#EduGladiators
A1: From my perspective if my leader allows me to move at my own pace and meets me where I am, then with support and encouragement I move forward and am willing to try new things. #edugladiators
A1 being a leader means knowing what your own strengths are & those of your team-provide opportunities for others to use those strengths in new ways to help them see their potential #EduGladiators
A1) You have to encourage reasonable risk-taking, and not punish the actors if results are not as positive as hoped. Gather the lessons to be learned, re-plan, and start again smarter. #edugladiators
A1: you have to have a strong mission and vision that people engage with and act upon. Next year we are having a "what's your 7" challenge for every teacher to reach distinguished in at least one category of the rubric #edugladiators
A1: We have to be willing to take risks ourselves and share the outcomes of those risks, even when they fail. How can we ask others to stretch beyond if we aren't doing the same? Share the experience so others know they are not alone when they fail AND succeed. #edugladiators
A1 Share the stories of when I have tried to do something that was a challenge, when I have failed, by connecting with others through story sharing, it builds confidence #EduGladiators
A1: Now I am at a point where I move myself past those limits and try new things. I am confident and know if I fail it's not the end of the world. 5 year rule.....will this matter in 5 years? Most likely not. (my mistakes I mean) #edugladiators
A1). I encourage people to not buy into the mental limits but to kick down the walls and go farther than ever before. Love being the cheerleader and giving awesome quotes like, “how do you eat an elephant?? One bite at a time!” LETS GO!!! #EduGladiators
A1: It's all about self-care. If someone is overwhelmed and visibly burning out, it is important to have them step back, regroup, and reflect. We're all in this because of our passion...that needed to be fueled consistently or it will go out #edugladiators
#EduGladiators a leader must always view others perspective ... one doesn't have to agree, but they must understand WHAT the person needs to become better
A1 - model what it’s like to always seek growth and help children. Tier goals so that the process always has something positive and valuable. #EduGladiators
I like the idea of a coaching hat, though my imagination wobbled between it being something stylish a la Tom Landry's fedora versus a more protective helmet :) #edugladiators
A1: It seems our individualized, weekly PD is starting to pay off. Ts are learning from each other, & supporting each other. The growth has been amazing! #EduGladiators
A1. I am in educational leadership because I once had an administrator point out qualities in me that I hadn't seen. I have committed to doing that for others. It was such a gift and truly changed the way I viewed myself professionally.
#edugladiators
A1: K-12 education has created arbitrary limits around scheduling, pacing, curriculum and behavior expectations that make teachers and administrators feel like they are trapped. Prove to your colleagues that those limits are not finite and innovation will spread #EduGladiators
A1 Getting folks out past their own self imposed limits requires a very strategic method of pushing & supporting simultaneously. If you do it just right you can get excellent work out of others, but a failure to overdo either (push or support) can be detrimental 🤓 #EduGladiators
A1 Focus on setting goals, taking small steps, that constant movement forward, time to reflect, having a supportive PLN and building relationships helps #EduGladiators
A1: having conversations that push their thinking is how to continually push forward. It’s difficult discussions that help mold solutions; most times you end up agreeing when you think at first they are in disagreement. #Edugladiators
A1.2: When I am co-leading with someone, the conversations that come about are amazing, insightful, and transformational. None of these would occur if we expect people to function independently. #EduGladiators
A1: Constant communication allows me to see when individuals are meeting their limits and allows me to build additional supports in place to encourage those folks to take that one more step or give that one more moment towards achieving our shared vision. #edugladiators
A1) Collaborating with them as they take those first small steps beyond their limits. Inviting them to new learning opportunities for them to continue to grow beyond the limits. #EduGladiators
People want a cause to champion. Building a collective "why" that is greater than ourselves will motive all of us to do more. Leaders provide resources and support to move beyond ordinary. #edugladiators
Great questions, @latoyadixon5. Love the idea of encouraging others to be more reflective. Yesterday, I asked my faculty to tell me what's one new thing they will commit to do to finish the year as strong as possible! #EduGladiators
A1: Try to encourage every stakeholder Ts, Ss, Fs, etc. to serve as courageous and relentless leaders.
🕶🎓👓
"Courageous leaders have double vision. They see the world as it is and as it could be." #EduGladiators#ALLisPossible
A1 I think that pointing out strengths helps Ts grow. They're often so hard on themselves but you can't build anything solid on negatives #EduGladiators
A1: Need to make sure we understand people's strengths & weaknesses along with their passions. Then make sure we push them in the right directions. Sometimes limits are more than mental blocks. #EduGladiators
A1: Much the same way I do with my kids in the classroom. I encourage them to embrace their challenges, struggles, limits. And I join their journey by sharing my own. Persistence and perseverance prove possible through seeking, not avoiding learning limits. #EduGladiators
A2. After applying for jobs and not getting them it can feel defeating. I didn't let it get the best of me. I started a cohort of other #aspiringleaders like me - great support network! #Edugladiators
A1 As a T this is hard because there are many directives that must be followed. But sometimes you'vejust gotta do what you gotta do to advocate for what is best for kids. #EduGladiators
The Continuum of Motivation https://t.co/ULsP5c0nq8 with content I updated to demonstrate how learners can build confidence as they climb to the top of the mountain to self-actualization.#rethink_learning Graphic by @sylvaduckworth
A2: Do not let "NO" become the end of the story. Keep fighting, keep digging, keep hunting to find the "YES". It's there, but are you willing to go get it. #EduGladiators
A1b - As a teacher, leader and coach I believe in a system of excellence. This revolves around specific language, goals, processes and most importantly a belief system. Allowing others to see and hear your vision can inspire them to follow. #EduGladiators
Great questions, @latoyadixon5. Love the idea of encouraging others to be more reflective. Yesterday, I asked my faculty to tell me what's one new thing they will commit to do to finish the year as strong as possible! #EduGladiators
But I have to say, it's been tough to develop. At first Ts liked the idea, then saw that it meant a fair bit of work & wanted to go back to the old PD... it's only recently that everyone is on board. #EduGladiators
A2: As an admin intern and district lead teacher I think it helped build my confidence and to not take things personally. It has helped me tremendously in the classroom of teaching middle schoolers. It's not personal....has made me much more patient and empathetic. #edugladiators
A1: when “I can’t” becomes “I can’t YET”, when MISTAKES are seen as GROWTH opportunities, and when any step forward is valued, the mindset changes to overcome the limits #EduGladiators
A2 It is tough to be criticized, to accept failures, but we have to develop problem solving strategies, resilience and not give up, knowing our purpose and staying focused #EduGladiators
A2: I crumble if I think I did something "wrong". A good leader knows how to constructively criticize and help with growth, not collapse #edugladiators
A2: To become a leader requires that one understand the purpose of pain. Pain to a leader is a motivator, not a inhibiter. Pain can mean many things, but leaders know to use it and allow to help you better find a pathway to success and fulfilling your purpose. #edugladiators
A2: It's vital to have a support system that will catch you when you fall - the mental game of leadership is fierce! Find your PLN, develop trust, then you can share real conversations to not only get you back on track but make things better for everyone! #EduGladiators
A2: Make sure your leadership begins with service that focuses on surrender before sacrifice. Keep your eyes not on what you are losing but on the purpose you serve. #edugladiators
A2: I have found that I have to find my small group that will keep me going when criticism is causing me doubt. Most importantly, the masses can’t see that their criticism is causing me doubt. I turn to them, get reenergized, and get back to it! #EduGladiators
A2: Leaders have to have the optimism to keep the vision in focus, to overcome the criticism and inspire everyone else to see the vision. You have to talk positivity to yourself, not listening to the negativity rattling in your head. #edugladiators
Staying focus in the midst of the storm because our kids deserve our best. Leaders have to separate personal feelings from the work when it comes to criticism and adversity. #edugladiators
A2). I think the best way to overcome them is by sharing them with others! All of a sudden these aren’t pains anymore bc you see that EVERYONE is going through them. Also, by sharing, you become more of a human to others! Helps others relate to you as a leader #EduGladiators
A2 I have had many times where I felt like giving up or hiding away, but that does not help us to grow and it is not a good model for those we lead, I come back stronger #EduGladiators
A2 In my "Live and Lead at Your Best" coaching session I call that pain interference. When that becomes too loud I play small and withdraw. I double myself. The solution = grow your PLN, join a professional network. Join my mastermind. The key is get connected! #edugladiators
A2 The joy of leadership outweighs the pain every day. Watching students and staff learn and grow every day is what keeps me going. Pain is temporary. Joy is forever. #EduGladiators
A2. I know this part of leadership very well. Leadership is not easy. It is the epitome of being the one to make the tough decisions. It’s making the call that nobody wants to make but knows it needs to happen. It requires constant COURAGE. #EduGladiators
A2: don't just live in an echo chamber - invite in the feedback from those who don't think enough is being done or too much is being done. JFK has a great quote about leaders needing criticism for a healthy environment and to thrive #edugladiators
A2: Sometimes hearing the criticisms or concerns surrounding your vision can strengthen your project or provide insight into how to reach the resistant. #EduGladiators
A2 - Again, from years of coaching, I’ve learned that each person must see the benefit of what they are doing. We can’t ask professionals or kids to embrace a task or challenge if they don’t see the INTRINSIC value. #EduGladiators
#EduGladiators
A2:To me there is greater pain in seeing lost Ss educational opportunities, Ss dreams not pursued, Ts leaving this noble profession, etc. so that overrides any doubts and fears about challenging the status quo. #KidsDeserveIt#TeachersDeserveIt
Seen way too many great ideas fall short because people gave up after the first "NO". Working with our younger teachers to keep searching for the "YES". I ask them, "Are you willing to fight for it?" #EduGladiators
A2a: You guys! I went to this fabulous conference this past week. You know it's a great conference when your brain still hurts, you can't even process all that you've heard and learned, and it doesn't take much to make you cry. #EduGladiators

A1 Zone of Proximal Development. As a leader use your vision and words wisely. You can see the greatness everyone has inside themselves. Call that out and call that forth in them. People will respond to the encouragement and exceed your expectations #edugladiators
A2~tested me w/occasional isolation, glares, blatant exclusion & the flip side it has inspired, encouraged, empowered me to continue to do what is best for all stakeholders and always, always demonstrate integrity & good moral character ~the light will always shine #EduGladiators
A2: For me, dealing with the frustrations in leadership happens best when I am seeking Christ first and remembering that my identity is first in him and not in the praise of others. That empowers me for further service to and with others. #EduGladiators
A2 I'm not in a leadership position but I think a Leaders job is challenging to get buy in for new ideas. I would start small with one or two enthusiastic people to get some on board and let it grow #edugladiators
A2) Building a strong PLN is the best support to overcome doubts & challenges. Participating with a group of people in various stages of boundary pushing empowers. #EduGladiators
A2) no body likes a straight up critique. Leaders have to work to help others see what their action steps should be through questioning. Instead of being straight forward and critical, I’m working on helping others be reflective in their practice #EduGladiators
A2) Truly constructive criticism can be very helpful in your growth as a leader. Sadly people too often forget the "constructive" part or in the case of tough love, the "love" part. Never take it personally, sift the good advice, and follow it .#edugladiators
Provide Grace to others. We will all need Grace at some point. Taking risks and growing will come with successes and failures. Stand strong with humility. #edugladiators
A2: We can use any challenges in our leadership journey to reflect & recommit to our vision & stregthen our resolve. We should never 🛑 growing, learning & working towards being the best leader we can be. #EduGladiators
A2: Surround yourself with positive and passionate people! I also believe that criticism can be healthy. Someone once told me “Don’t take a compliment from someone you’re not willing to take criticism from!” #EduGladiators
A2: My father is a preacher. One of his sermons he spoke about if you are a leader and you are never being criticized or challenged, you aren't doing your job to the fullest. To use the slang, I make my haters my motivators. #edugladiators@_on11@Shapiro_WTHS
A2: Good question. I have found that giving my vision voice has helped me stay the course. Starting my blog 2.5 years ago and publishing my journey every school day gives me an opportunity to share, reflect, and find strength from the support of those who follow. #EduGladiators
A2b: Being a leader is hard! You have to keep doing what you believe is best for kids, no matter what the naysayers do and say. Fight the good fight. Take care of yourself. Lead by your example! #EduGladiators

A2: As a leader one must keep the end goal in mind for their vision. In education we must always seek to do what is best for our Ss. Yes, there will be criticisms! However, we most always remain positive & seek to build positive relationships with our colleagues. #EduGladiators
A2: Keep your WHY and personal mission at the forefront of everything you do. The pain of saying no is worth a better focused product if you always bring the work back to your WHY #edugladiators
A2: My father is a preacher. One of his sermons he spoke about if you are a leader and you are never being criticized or challenged, you aren't doing your job to the fullest. To use the slang, I make my haters my motivators. #edugladiators@_on11@Shapiro_WTHS
#EduGladiators a system that allows novice and experienced teachers learn from each other causes less tension & adds to school climate ... difficult task 😉
#EduGladiators A1 People follow passionate people with a vision. They are willing to try new things if they know that failure won’t be a negative thing, but opportunity to grow.Leaders should ask them “what’s the worse that can happen?
A2,1) Beyond the lessons I can learn, I ignore the rest that is not constructive for my continual growth. Never let those who have no dreams try to discourage you from achieving yours. #edugladiators
A2. Great leaders have the courage to do what is right and stand alone if necessary. Being a supportive leader doesn’t mean you always agree with those you serve-it means you support what is right & hold folks accountable when they don’t meet expectations. #EduGladiators
A2: Leadership is never a committee of one. Gather feedback from all to make sure you are headed down the forget path and invite the people who differ in ideas/ perspectives to explain further #EduGladiators
A2 Leadership that values and institutes change will undoubtedly run into conflict...Expected or not...Peer support, taking care of your health, and prayer can see you through til the growth comes...change-conflict-growth #edugladiators
A3: Embrace the "why!" If you are passionate about the purpose and feel it's the best choice, showcasing the "why" helps others to embrace the outcome. #EduGladiators
A3 By staying focused and clear on my why, knowing that what I am doing is the best decision, there will always be pushback, just stay clear on your purpose #EduGladiators
I can't remember if it was Brene Brown or another author, but she said when you are thinking all of those negative thoughts, you are "behind enemy lines." Get out of your head! #EduGladiators
It's a "must win" for Southampton.
Mark Hughes is no doubt about the importance of today's match at home to Bournemouth.

A3: A wise mentor once told me: "Close your door and do what's best for kids." If you're doing what's best for kids, you can never go wrong. #EduGladiators

A2 - this question hits home! At first I became defensive, but slowly I learned to listen - truly listen - reflect & try to learn from criticism. This seems to work. When the critics see me as open, they also let down their gaurd #EduGladiators
#EduGladiators A1 People follow passionate people with a vision. They are willing to try new things if they know that failure won’t be a negative thing, but opportunity to grow.Leaders should ask them “what’s the worse that can happen?
A3: Like many other situations, thoughtful consideration and proper presentation (delivery) need to take place. Difficult decisions need to take place with dignity. #EduGladiators
A3: As a teacher, I have to stand my ground and know it will will worse before it gets better. I just need to live through it, but it makes me a better teacher and my relationships with Ss become stronger because of it. #edugladiators
A3 As a T, if what is happening is putting Ss first then it's usually a win regardless of outcome. Perseverance, risk taking powerful models. #EduGladiators
A3: Love the Batman reference!
You always have to keep what is best for kids front and center. You can never go wrong with a decision based on that! #EduGladiators

A2: Students. It’s about the Ss. They truly are the ones who energize me, who take risks in their own learnings and who shine proudly. I am always better because of them. #EduGladiators
A3) so often i see leaders trying to poll staff to get a win/win. Or “I made the decision most of the people wanted.” I’m more of a “hey, here’s the decision. Now get on board and follow me so i can show you the AWESOMENESS!!!” #EduGladiators
A3: Foremost and always front and center are Students! They are always on my mind with every thought, action, communication, interaction, and next steps I take and with the Ts I serve. I try to guide every decision made with Ss at our core. #EduGladiators
A3: This is why we are professionals. We should know our classrooms enough to be able to make the right choice for our students, even if it's not the popular one #EduGladiators
A3 at the end of the day, we have to reflect and then start the next day with a goal set, and do better than the day before, works in progress, persevere #EduGladiators
A3: Repeatedly return to the mission of the organization, and sometimes my personal mission. Those can both provide great guidance and comfort. #EduGladiators
A2) Truly constructive criticism can be very helpful in your growth as a leader. Sadly people too often forget the "constructive" part or in the case of tough love, the "love" part. Never take it personally, sift the good advice, and follow it .#edugladiators
A2: If you have one person who supports and appreciates what you do it can make a difference! #EduGladiators What you do matters to those who have told you and to those who have yet to tell you! Do it for them!
#EduGladiators I’m not an administrators, but lead in other ways. It’s scary to try new things and risk failure, but we don’t move forward if we play it safe!
A2(b): Like the pain of embarrassment of not being taken seriously as a candidate because of a political blog post from 10 years ago and not having enough credentials. Use that pain to improve your interview response and go out and get your Ed.D. (too personal?) ;) #EduGladiators
A3. Know who your people are. Talk to them. Weigh the options with them. Then do what is right. I have referred to these wise words many times and they have never let me down. #edugladiators
A3: I don’t think there is ever really a win win scenario in education. Someone will always not believe what is happening is good enough. What I have found is that nobody can argue if what we are doing is best for kids! #Edugladiators
A3: this is why centering on the mission and vision is so impt - if the decision is rooted in the vision we can be sure to be making the right one no matter how hard #edugladiators
A3 - Take the emotions out of the decision. Separate the person from the process. In much of leadership and teaching, rarely are things completely clear cut. Outstanding teachers and leaders find a balance and know how their decisions will positively impact people #EduGladiators
A2. The test of leadership is the test of COURAGE. Look at those who led some of the greatest changes in American history. The one thing they had that others didn’t —>COURAGE. They did not allow fear to hold them hostage. My motto: #EduGladiators
A3: Again, if it’s the best choice for kids then it’s the right choice. A quote I ❤️ from @kidsdeserveit “Schools don’t exist so adults can have jobs. They exist for the kids.” #edugladiators
A3) Sometimes it’s tough, but when we are working to show growth in students, being direct is necessary in some cases. If being direct is for the students then I’m okay with that #EduGladiators
A3: Welcome to the world of being a parent or being married. It's the fine art of compromise. I try to explain rationale for decisions, when necessary, to that others can see that I have their best interests in mind, and not just my own. #EduGladiators
I asked them to send me a message. I told them that I'll compile the individual responses and share them out. Happy to post them here as well! #EduGladiators
A1: Great leaders inspire others to think more highly of themselves. Have faith in the people you serve and they will begin to do exactly that. Tell someone tomorrow “I believe in you” #allin#EduGladiators

A3: Again, we must do what's best for our Ss. It may even be that we need to step back and observe the situation & reflect on what is truly the best outcome. Sometimes a win-win situation may not be for the best, it may be that there is something to be learned. #EduGladiators
A3: A lot of reflection with some of my colleagues to help counsel me on the choice. These are tough choices that unfortunately sometimes need to be made. Harry had all his friends with him before his confrontation with Voldy, I'd like to have my friends with me2 #edugladiators
I've learned not to take things personal. Growth and change can be very uncomfortable. I take joy in the victories and keep working for students. #EduGladiators
A3: this is why centering on the mission and vision is so impt - if the decision is rooted in the vision we can be sure to be making the right one no matter how hard #edugladiators
Running out of money and down on his luck, right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos laid off the small staff of Milo Entertainment Inc., according to three people familiar with the situation https://t.co/Cit4vwqMpH
A4. I truly believe in mentorship and I see it's power. My live is different because of my great mentors. Good things are happening! #mentoring is transforming me! #edugladiators
A3: I think moments that are not win-wins are easier to endure with a foundation of relationships. Leaders sometimes have to make impossible decisions but if relationships are at the center, those impossible situations don’t become permanent disasters. #EduGladiators
A3: Great leadership does not rest on the reaction to a decision but on the enduring outcomes. Do not let all the noise sway your convictions and commitment to long term change #EduGladiators
A3: Honesty & communication with those that you are leading are very important! As leaders, sometimes the role requires these types of decisions & you have to do what’s best! #EduGladiators
I've learned not to take things personal. Growth and change can be very uncomfortable. I take joy in the victories and keep working for students. #EduGladiators
A3: You circle back to your mission, your vision, your values, and your personal beliefs to remind you of the destination and your commitment to the journey there. If it was easy everyone would do it, but goals that are worthy come with struggle. #edugladiators
A4: I think about co-facilitating Building Safety Team and the students and staff drive me. Keeping them safe, having all Ss accounted for. I am constantly thinking about what is best for them. #edugladiators
A3 I favor the patience of playing a long, incremental game. Make best choice now w/eye towards chances for more choices later as part of reflective practice. (Maybe Batman has easier time when role is shared from actor to actor... https://t.co/vLiytSUxu3) #edugladiators
A4 My purpose is doing what is best for kids, to push myself to keep learning, growing, stepping out of comfort zone, to do more and be more #EduGladiators
A4: In the classroom....how do I develop independent, confident, empathetic, global citizens who make positive choices? Ss are at the center of all I do! #edugladiators
A3: Great leadership does not rest on the reaction to a decision but on the enduring outcomes. Do not let all the noise sway your convictions and commitment to long term change #EduGladiators
A3 it's never about being right or wrong, but by doing what's best, not what's popular...Sometimes we have to brush the dirt and move on... #edugladiators
#EduGladiators A4: We need ways of being that empower, encourage, & engage not that 🔨🔨
🗜
”If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." 🛠
A3: This is very difficult for me because I don’t like to disappoint anyone. I try to compromise and seek the advice and wisdom of those who are more experienced than myself. #EduGladiators I know I don’t have all of the answers!
A3 All my decisions are sifted through our school phislosophy. I then try to explain the "why" behind my decision. People will generally get on board when they see the bigger picture #EduGladiators
A4: Had a conversation with @megan_hacholski and her students yesterday about how their voice matters NOW...at age 12 instead of 21. We strongly believe that the best and most innovative ideas are trapped in the hearts and minds of our students. #EduGladiators
Q4: Pink’s will drivers of mastery, autonomy and purpose lately has made me realize that leadership is never a committee of one. Also like @jodiepierpoint says mentoring has helped me greatly. Both being a mentee and mentor. #EduGladiators

A4) Leadership should be collaborative/servant mindset. Working together to reach/serve a common goal: STUDENT SUCCESS. Leadership is not about a top down evaluation. Let’s start working together to improve STUDENT OUTCOMES #EduGladiators
A4 Realizing that every person in our school is dealing with something that is impacting them in some way. Be empathic and listen before making a judgment. #EduGladiators
A4 - A consistent level of positivity and high expectations for everyone. We make things so complicated. People need to be loved, respected and told they are valued. Most other stuff gets lost in a haze. #EduGladiators
A3. In leadership, you must constantly ask yourself two questions:
1. What is the right decision to make or the right thing to do?
2. Am I doing the right thing for the good of the organization and the purpose of our work?

OK -- way too many great thoughts appearing too fast in the chat today. 😀 I am going to have to be intentional about returning to the hashtag later today. Great work everyone! #EduGladiators
Q4: Currently working on bringing tools like @Flipgrid to all faculty at my university to impact student learning and faculty outreach, especially in our online courses. It’s transformational! But VERY out of the comfort zone of many in higher ed. #EduGladiators
A3: That which is built with love will endure. If you build your team with love they will become more and do more than you ever thought possible.

YES! Design process starts with empathy - if students can truly relate to the people and problems, they can create solutions that will AMAZE you! So true! #EduGladiators
A4 I have to say: giving up control. This is not one or the other - it's a continuum. Each time I give up control, there's more control to give up! #edugladiators
#EduGladiators A4: We need ways of being that empower, encourage, & engage not that 🔨🔨

”If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." 🛠
A3: You need to remember that some folks are dealing with lots of ghosts that may encourage them to be looking for conflict and it's not about you or your decisions. This book is really powerful on the subject. #edugladiators

A1 I encourage to take risks and see where they go. Some of the risks may not work out, but others may lead you and your class somewhere great, so why not try it out and see! #EduGladiators
A4. The one idea that is transforming my leadership is having a limitless vision. Everyday I tell myself the best is yet to come. I believe that greatness lives inside of all of us and I am nowhere near the peak of my potential. I’m excited about the future! #EduGladiators
A4: (And good morning!) I am realizing we all need to be leaders. Reaching out. Touching. Expanding. Laterally. Questioning with sincere openness. Even talking to the elderly lady walking her dog by the school can build something for the community. #EduGladiators
Now this is what being a teacher is all about! Passion for teaching the students and the gifts they are. Not all this political #Red4Ed nonsense that is punishing students.
So thankful that my children have gotten to sit under the teachers at Noah Webster! #satchat#edugladiators
A4 My purpose is to keep learning and model that to students, you need to be a continuous learner. I want my S's to be independent, good global citizens, creative, problem solvers. #EduGladiators

A4: The idea that fear is nothing more than a hurdle! I work to, positively, push myelf, my peers, and my students to go beyond whatever fear may be stopping them! #SetTheStageToEngage#EduGladiators
Yes!! We have to realize the struggle is part of the journey. In the struggle we grow. We need to use what we learn in the struggle to help others with their journey. #bettertogether#edugladiators

Twitter chats are a struggle for me with my boys' sports schedules. This is the first time I've joined in on #EduGladiators and I'm SO glad I did. You are definitely leading with a cape to inspire @D4Griffin3 !!!!
A4: #Culturize by @casas_jimmy has changed the way I see my purpose in education. It's inspired me to realize that my role, regardless of title, is to create a culture that supports ALL students and focused on pushing (and loving) kids to be their absolute best. #edugladiators
A3 (a): You can get a win win when you have "Better Conversations." @jimknight99 provides strategies to help make conversations life giving and come up with better solution together than we ever would have on our own #edugladiators
A4. Personally, I have realized that my perceived "business" might be causing my staff to hesitate in reaching out to me and that is the last thing I want. I am going to stop wearing busy like a badge thanks to this video. https://t.co/KXhWlQasKg#edugladiators
#EduGladiators The people need choices. We should not be limited to public schools only. We the people should be able to use our tax dollars for private and home schooling.
A2 I think any variation of a leader will take on criticism regardless. I do my best to take negativity with a grain of salt. Often it comes from a place of closed minds. I also try to stay positive a friendly no matter. #EduGladiators
Helping emergent leaders realize the it's not "having the keys" or even "being accountable" that's hard. It's the courage needed to withstand the resistance that MUST come w great leadership. If there's no resistance, you're likely not leading profound change. #EduGladiators

Huge thanks the the #bromwellbears#EduGladiators fighting for education funding! About to join parents and kids in the school garden to prep it for the planting in two weeks!
And it's back again. The #EduGladiators hashtag that celebrates these brave warriors who work six hours a day, five days a week, 42 weeks a year (often with only TWO weeks of vacation and three personal days to help them unwind).
You're the real heroes.
#EduGladiators Why are teachers using their teaching position as a platform to bash our President. This should not be permitted while being paid by tax payers. Fire teachers that do this.
A4: Thé ideal that continues to transform my leadership - NO EXCUSES! Our kids & profession deserve better...they deserve #EduGladiators in their corner fighting for & motivating them!
I've been beat down. I've come back from the edge of giving up. I'm a people pleaser by nature. This position produces thick skin. Having an amazing #pln365 helps. #40CF#edugladiators#LeadLAP
Russian Spy working for Dems / Fusion GPS hired by Dems said the meeting was about info on Hillary Clinton. Then tried to make it about the Magnisky act / adoption of Russian Children. You've been suckered by Prog Propaganda. Dems worked w Russian spies & tried to frame Trump.
#EduGladiators stick to teaching the subjects. Schools should be a place for open debate. Difference of opinions should be allowed, and not discouraged.
Because Common Core requires students to defend their position, this kind of influence has been greatly diminished. Students are learning to defend and advocate very powerfully. There is hope #Edugladiators
#EduGladiators should not be using school for social experiments. Boys are boys and girls are girls. You should not encourage anything other than that.

#EduGladiators schools should have two bathrooms only. One for boys and another for girls. Let the parents tell their kids the truth about sex and gender. It’s not the schools job.
You've been totally sucked into a lie. The Russian Collusion (Conspiring) was always the Obama administration, like they conspired with Iran & others. They conspired with Russia to frame Trump & they are SO BUSTED. Mueller was a smoke screen, but he failed. Never Collusion by DJT

A3 this is my weak area for sure! I am terrible at conflict and will bend backwards to not have it happen. When compromise isn’t going happen, Sometimes I just have to do me and then do them and that’s the best alternative. #EduGladiators
Chance the Rapper: “Black people don’t have to be Democrats”

There you go, folks. Democrats own the black voter. Step out of line and they will slaughter you.
Allegations made by Senator Jon Tester against Admiral/Doctor Ron Jackson are proving false. The Secret Service is unable to confirm (in fact they deny) any of the phony Democrat charges which have absolutely devastated the wonderful Jackson family. Tester should resign. The.....
....great people of Montana will not stand for this kind of slander when talking of a great human being. Admiral Jackson is the kind of man that those in Montana would most respect and admire, and now, for no reason whatsoever, his reputation has been shattered. Not fair, Tester!

Game over, Germany. You ll never succeed over America. You are doomed to fail. Nobody on earth needs your ugly country and your lazy products to spend a good life nor to play a role as a modern economic society. America will never surrender. Piss off, Germany.
