Hi #flipclass I am Jen. HS math teacher of 17 years. I started flipping when I taught Alg 2 seven years ago. I no longer teach Alg 2 but flipped Stats 2 years ago.

A1 I am new to #flipclass and in the process of changing my room and approach to more of a history lab setting. So I am planning to move more towards that goal next semester.

I have maybe 3 or 4 students in my Stats #flipclass that haven't bought into the idea and hate the concept. I don't have a plan yet to get them to join the fabulous side of #flipclass but would love ideas!

A1 I need to really figure out good plan of when to get my videos made. Don’t want to have to wait on the toddler to grow up more. Also want a room I can just leave the lightboard-in-progress set up all the time & not always have to strike/reassemble #flipclass

A1: I feel like I say this all the time, just need to find time to actually sit down and do it...next steps for me are (hopefully) start implementing SBG and mastery along with updating/adding more videos #flipclass
#flipclass I am converting to single document hyper graphics for ease of student access and better P communication. but that means reorganizing lots of materials
A1: Mulling how to incorporate @msonenote & flipped microvids; want Ss to be able to easily take digital notes while watching vids (& not split screen). #flipclass
I saved myself some of the craziness of recording and left my physical body out. I run through all of my examples and just explain everything. The students have never expressed the need to see me. This allows me to record anywhere convenient. #flipclass
Yep no touch screens. Makes me wonder what was the point of investing in technology if it isn't going to do everything necessary for our students. #flipclass
This is why making a lightboard has become my pet project. Hoping to eliminate weird disconnect between my hand in the doc cam part of vid and my face in pic-in-pic-style webcam area #flipclass
Q3 now that Ss have been in your #flipclass for a while this year, what adjustments are you making as Ss inevitably try to short cuircuit you learning designs?
I’m teaching grade 12 chem next semester — definitely want it set up by then! Is yours for standing or seated work? Does it have a dedicated area or do you set up/take down a lot? #flipclass

Mine is for standing. We just moved a few weeks back, so I haven't set it up in the new house yet. But it will (hopefully) have its own dedicated space when it's all said and done #flipclass

I had Ss using it on laptops in class so I could check out how it went (also to engage this usually off-task class) - lots of good learning noises were heard :) #flipclass

My Ss learned pretty quickly to watch the vids and do the reading - I don’t do over some of the low level stuff in class and some of the vid concepts are not in the book. #flipclass
I definitely agree with this. With Pre-Calc there are so many things they should remember but don't. Having a list of old videos for them to reference back to can take away that excuse. #flipclass
