A good Tuesday morning to everyone from Tidewater Virginia.
For me, having Ss do their own research ( each have a part in the material) then share with group teach each other
S-led is not something you dabble in - it's a classroom culture/school you must establish day 1, based on trust & relationships.
One of my Ts () conducts S led conferences w great results.
and you friend Good morning
I bet the Ss thrive as they lead their own learning! https://t.co/Cl6qUAL5pv

Starting each day with genius research or making has worked great for my first graders.
I volunteer/teach for & i love each week THEY have a set of challenges to work through & then teach them. Does that count?
What grade and which one have you done?
Ss in Social Studies class in Spanish chose their own topic, learning target, way to present and created the rubric, amazing results

Tech club Ss learn to operate new interactive boards then go around bldg teaching Ts. Cool!
Indeed! Takes full-on trust and is messy - I've got to be on my game & help facilitate where the class goes. Love it!
I've had success giving Ss a menu of choices.Once explicit whole group instruction done Ss get choice:how they learn & meet targets
projects with authentic audiences gives Ss a legit platform to showcase their learning
Grades 9 & 11. Also did with Admin. Other Ts excited to try. Other Ss asking, "Can we do it?" Made my own.
Good Morning ! Debby from NY feeling it's going to be a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!
I'm lurking today. I think for me, Genius Hour is the one S led idea I'm proudest of.
Not nerdy at all! Giving Ss the power to design the practice to explain the goals is crucial to get buy in. https://t.co/eSQdebl2AI
We are doing chemistry where students design a prac to explain rates of reactions. Cool but probably sounds a bit nerdy
This is one of my favorite approaches. Not only to witness Ss learning but to hear Ss talk about their learning
rs has been going over a year now. We r expanding into a video editing room next year. we should have r groups collar!
One of the best things I started in my physics class was S-designed labs. So much more powerful than cookbook.
How about Genius Hour, play-based and inquiry-based learning opportunities + PBL?
We have students choose their own learning targets & decide how to reach them & show their learning. They become truly invested
Next year, the whole district will start with ten minutes of morning wellness. Could be yoga... Meditation... Stretching...

I would love to know how to do this in first grade. Unfortunately I am still a "dabbler". https://t.co/RQVwkHssGW
S-led is not something you dabble in - it's a classroom culture/school you must establish day 1, based on trust & relationships.
I like to give options ... pose the question and let the kids discover the answer ... let them choose how to tell me
Also excited to work with Ss from on their projects! Can't wait to see their designs!
Student led Writer's Workshop is phenomenal. They choose their topic, they peer edit, and lead their own learning!

S-led is not something you dabble in - it's a classroom culture/school you must establish day 1, based on trust & relationships.
Working w/one T now. Hoping others see it and want to try.
I find in MS it is about giving them options, building confidence, helping them learn to think, before totally setting them free
We used to have a T who came to every class for 10 minutes of meditation/ visualization prior to her lesson https://t.co/9nuTxH6bEZ
Next year, the whole district will start with ten minutes of morning wellness. Could be yoga... Meditation... Stretching...

Can't wait to see it! Mine is a hot mess!
. Start by asking them open question. Let them ask you questions. Have them teach instead of answer you
My students have their & a big pile of sensors, LEDs, inputs & outputs. What they create next is up to them. So Engaged!

Morning, . "Shouldn't *all* learning ideas ultimately & one way or another all be student-led?" he asks rhetorically.
