I like that! Now that I am out of the classroom, I try to do that for the teachers I work with...not call their parents, but try to reach out to connect before students arrive. #LaEdChat
A2: Now there is also some testing going on during those first weeks as well but I want to get to know them personally before I get to know them academically.

A2: Now that I am in a Computer Lab and focused on their skills, I have them complete some fun tasks that allow me to see if they can open, close, or save a document, etc.

A3: I hope to start having monthly meet ups at a local restaurant. We have done this in the past and it was a great way to meet new coworkers and spend time with people you normally don't hang with.

A3: I think with both student and adult learners alike, it is important to seek to understand the other person's perspective, foster trust, and develop a "we are in this together" mentality. #LaEdChat

I want my scholars to become experts and teach the teachers.

We even did a pop-up makerspace once every 2 weeks to make it low pressure and let kids learn and explore at lunch or after hours. #LaEdChat#startsmall

NICE! I would go to the @dollartree and load up on stuff that I would put in a specific file cabinet that I would call the treasure chest. It was my form of positive behavior support… #LaEdChat
I always do some version of a visual About Me presentation.
This year I want to have them fill up the 1st letter of their name with things about themselves. Favorites and hopes, dreams, etc.
