Although we started school in March, Ss engaged w international projects! :))
Great Job, sounds like a fantastic project.
Google Classroom is surely gaining in popularity. Follow for tips
A1- I am creating curriculum 4 an independent study program k-8ela & I am proud that we got all our k-8 Ss to write a novel
Where do you teach? What classes?
Huge fan of international projects
Grad ed courses to teachers and involve them in global projects/cross classrooms
Ss selected their topic & brainstormed possible genres. They fell into telling the story genre by genre
that's awesome we connected 10 different school sites with n they ❤️d it
A1. Proud of our portfolios & badges! Meaningful Learning with Digital Portfolios: Tools & Examples https://t.co/6rVGwhWDCb
Alice also has a Google apps book
One of my biggest pushes is getting teachers to create digital portfolios & to have their students do the same
A2: I try to have my students know I believe in them, proud of their hardwork, & they have power to create meaningful lives
A2-I really want the Ss to know it is only failing if they don't learn anything from the mistake & that I believe in them
Sounds intriguing, Tim. Tell more
A2: I also want students to know they have a champion behind them especially those who don't feel they have any
A2: Given I work w/ grad students who teach, hope they focus on digital literacies & w/ their students
A2 - We are starting a 1:1 (BYOD) environment in 4-12. I hope students are excited about the future of their education
A2- I hope my students know I care about them and I'm genuinely proud of them. And they're my 'kids' for life now!
A2- I also hope they feel like their hard work paid off.
Varies. Some use WordPress, others Google Sites, but there are many tools
A2 - I also hope Ss realize that they teach their Ts almost as much as they learn
A2 school has already ended
Love the message about failure https://t.co/pe4gt6XHQt
A2-I really want the Ss to know it is only failing if they don't learn anything from the mistake & that I believe in them
A2: that they are loved beyond measure and capable of of reaching their goals. That they are more than a number.
That is one of my favorite messages: students as teachers
A2: That learning happens everywhere, that life is a math word problem, that creativity comes in a variety of forms!
So important! https://t.co/lgUpMYZgpa
A2 - I also hope Ss realize that they teach their Ts almost as much as they learn
Yes, we need to get beyond thinking of students as numbers and to humanize the school setting w/ compassion
then what message did you hope they left with?
Yes, learning knows no boundaries and disciplines are artificial entities
many of the kids I work with see failure daily so we have to restructure their thinking and make it a positive
Jane from Duluth, MN just joining. A2 I hope my students believe they CAN do math
A3: Let the students teach the class, which helps to internalize their learning
A3- you have to talk to the S! BUT U must also Listen to what they are saying
Yes, focus on the positive of which there are many
A3 - it is important with our students that we show them at an early age how to be reflective
We can all do math and apply math to our daily lives Love Math!!
. He's a crazy man in a big blue box
A3- we conference and they will do a reflective writing piece next week.
A3 we also have to be honest w/them. Tell them about our own failures and successes so they see they too can reach their goal
A3 - as for the actual tools, I think we have digital tools close at hand and can embed other outcomes to their reflections
A3: Create digital stories or digital portfolios to reflect on accomplishments throughout the year or memories
Hi Brian, and glad you can join to discuss leaving positive impressions on learners
A3: I end the year by reading Zen Ghosts (by Jon Muth) & Ss reflect on their ability to define themselves in many ways
A3: My students did video pres detailing what they learned each module. Used Prezi, VoiceThread, etc https://t.co/AvcVhNzkH2
A3: Students benefit from a creative project that highlights accomplishments from the year
A1 2 Goals:1. school could be the place for them to discover their talents 2. Ss understand Ts are not their enemies
A4- we work 1-1 w/our Ss they don't get to socialize much so my favorite times r when I can bring them 2gether for any event
A3 students keep project logs for each activity
there are so many ways to curate learning, using Google, seesaw,blogs- it is a great way to connect to parents too
In Spanish we say "la dualidad del ser"
Fantastic. Students can pick the tool they favor and recap their course learning to share w/ others
Yes, another benefit of a annual recap using digital tools is sharing w/ parents and others
are those like Lincoln Logs?
A4:my other fav is when my struggling student laughed & smiled because he finally found a teacher who thinks he is brilliant
Love this idea! https://t.co/KVNsOXbOLX

or William Hemry Harrison logs for short term projects
Great idea to empower students. What grade?
A4 cont- she read it cuz it told a story that no one tells and she really wanted me to read it right away- I did
A2: Message: school doesn´t kill their dreams & can learn useful tools that can help them in the future
A4: Just one??? wow. This has been an incredible year. I don't think I can pick one. My Ss make every day the "best" day!
A4-cont & her enthusiasm opened my eyes to a part of history I didn't know of & helped me connect to her as I became her S
How have you implementing journaling?
A4 my favorite activity was demonstrating knowledge of forces and motion by creating roller coasters
https://t.co/0e4jxxl8Yl
A4: I'm known for saying, "This is my favorite unit!" and my Ss reply, "Wasn't the last one your favorite too??"
or Franklin D Roosevelt for long term logs

A2 This is really important for Ss to realize & that somebody appreciates what they do https://t.co/vnUtLOyJpa
A2: I try to have my students know I believe in them, proud of their hardwork, & they have power to create meaningful lives
1st and 2nd graders. Share their folders with their parents, add digital badges to them for accomplishments

What are the students doing/creating in the unit?
A3: Ss want to pass all subjects no matter what bc school here is really complex too many yearly subjects!
A4: My spah 4 Ss are collecting their favorite quotes from materials this year, and the amazing ways they connect impress me.
So do you also do Minecraft w/ grad students?
Love it! Excellent literacy activity for cross-class engagement
A4: Everyday with my Span Literature class is a great day. Each Ss had an amazing "light bulb" moment this year at dif points
A3: also in our case Ss sit for expensive International Exams so they HAVE to study or study!
Understandable. Keep up the positive energy
A4: In spanish 1 I really can't pick, but it makes my day when a kiddo says, "I can't believe we've learned so much!"
A2 Absolutely! I talk a lot w many of my Ss & many think nobody cares/they are not valuable... https://t.co/8eWbNuTrdA

Love the tutor-tutee concept
Q5: 1 of the 30 Goals is have fun. What fun activities do you have planned for the end of the year? https://t.co/mfqCF9iUdR

we did a handful of smaller projects before these, this one took a while- 6 coasters 4 successful 360 loops
You're invited to the free 30 Goals Community where we strive to accomplish 1 to 30 goals each yr https://t.co/Ztku2Q2AcU
A4: Don´t think all is so easy for us here! Asynchronous communication= the only way but worked!
When it comes to images, like to check when see @ symbol even if credit will be given
yep. Isn't that what leaning suppose to be?
Yes, one of the best ways to remember is to create while learning--goes back to John Dewey
A1: Being on a new campus building relationships with Ts&Ss. Bringing new EdTech Ideas to them.
sylvia has as cc image on Flickr so should be fine if you embed or add the attribution to sylvia
unfortunately most schools didn't get that memo
A4: We have a teacher is social studies having a postcard war with Ss first to get them from around the US! They love it!!
Agree, & we need to get play back into learning. Look what's happening in kindergarten :-(

A5: We´ll have an EFL or English Fair & also they´ll prepare a play for primary school Ss
It's a good practice to do :-)

A6: 1 of the 30 Goals is giving each student a hi5 in your class & letting them know what you are proud they achieved this yr
A6: Tell them, tell them, and tell them again. Show them. Keep up with them.
Yes, let them know to keep in touch.
Computer Studies Ts do that in my school! Also Kindergarden Ts. Ss love it!
Just skimmed and looks fantastic
I still do that & put the final videos on a website and put them in their Google Drives
A6: One thing I do to help Ss know I value them is that I let each Ss complete an evalof me with suggestions for the future.
Thank you! They DO have fun! Much more than in class! :)
Anyone using for those yearend school memory recaps?
A6 when I worked n a traditional classroom I would combine pics & video from all yr n make CDs for each kid w/a personal msg
A6: Also, have students collaborate on a digital memory creation using a tool of their choice & share out
