Good morning, ! Dawn from VA checking in.
I belong to a monthly book group. This month we are hosting a local author and each reading 1-3 of his books.
I simply take time to read every day (not watching the TV at all helps). Like exercise, it takes discipline.
Professionally this year, we are offering 4-5 books to study for a PLC once a quarter. These have been great so far.
Yikes! Stay safe my friend!
how is your daughter doing?
Reading for me? Reading fills my soul. But most read for pleasure books are on long weekends or vacations. https://t.co/8CczjpoFaH

It is hard to read for fun when the school readings and assignments pile up! Did some reading over the summer ☀️
ooh. Are you in danger or just cautious
Good morning! Hope all of you had a fun weekend!
I host a book club, well really it is just a talk club, but I do read the book.
Govt closed schools - just cautious I think. Haiti is the one we're worried about.
With MS Ss, it's embedded into their advisory time, so twice a week, Ss and Ts stop and read for leisure. It is quite calming.
Morning, ! It's been way too long since I've joined you! Feels good to be back!
Good morning, ! Waking up with Sore Throat- Day3. Co-teacher is already out today. So off I go. :) https://t.co/GUpZPQzaNs
I read during transitions. I read when Ss read. I read between innings and during commercials.
I read a lot of kid lit during the year. Just finished Nine, Ten So good. Middle grade books are underrated
I always try & have 2 books going at once. 1 personal 1 professional. The Innovators Mindset is the professional 1 right now
no TV helps, that's what I do too, even though I haven't been able to exercise :( but I do find the time to read
Isn't that just a wonderful book?!
Good morning . This topic fits in so well with last night's chat! I belong to 2 book clubs, so I "have" to read.

Since I joined challenge, I've made sure to make time for reading; usually in evening after dinner.
During the school yr, I like to read at night before bed, wkends in the AM. Always carry a book to appts to read while I wait

Good morning! ❤️ today's question - I wouldn't be me without reading!
I don't watch much tv at all and this gives me extra time for reading. Ryan Holiday's" Obstacle Is The Way" was incredible!
I also read while I am on my recumbent bike.
Loved the latest Mary Kubica thriller I read over the summer called "Don't Cry Now" 😱
I try to book-read for a few minutes each night. But also subscribe to abt a dozen news & blog feeds. Great 3-4 min reading bursts.
Read the Book of Harlan. best of the year. I read for about an hour on Saturdays to feel connected books
If you are talking about personal , then I make time before bed to . Gene Wilder's autobiography is my latest.

Reading always fits into the schedule. I read nightly in bed, and I read blogs and share articles with colleagues often.

Listening to audio -books during my commute to work. I'm finishing Flush by
Most of my reading is for fun, although I mix a few professional books in as well. Just finished Jitterbug Perfume by Robbins. Wow!
I also have the Kindle App on my phone, so I read when I am at appts or stuck somewhere.
For educational topics, I try to read one post from or similar site at the end of the day. Keeps me
yes I should be running right now but I thought I would try something a little different. :-)
I also listen when I do house work and during other "down time"
be safe Ylonka ... it is a nasty storm
Defending Jacob is our book club read. I was up late bc I couldn't put it down.
Have to admit it's really hard to read for fun during school year. With blogs, edu stuff i'm mindless at the end of the day.
Shhhhh! Speak not of such things. :)
Thanks for the reminder. 45 yrs w/o it, and I'd hate to break that streak!
I read fiction before going to sleep every night (when book is good, I don't sleep much) Squeeze in reading whenever I can
INNOVATOR'S MINDSET is a game changer.
https://t.co/OchoTjD1ob

Good morning all - A.J. 4th Grade, NJ.
Thinking of the two of you makes me smile BIG:)
My daughter is dyslexic so she uses audiobooks to read along with and highlights pages in the text
It has been fantastic. We have three houses. And I am the head of the house of Greatness. How about you?
You and me both..now it is in my house..
Audiobooks are not cheating! I love to listen to them on the way to school!
Reading T-N Coates Between the World and Me in book group then led to my reading JD Vance's Hillbilly Elegy. Both were compelling

Things are good. Hope the same for you:)
is now trending in USA, ranking 5
I keep a book in the car and read while waiting to drive my kids to and from various activities. I can get a lot between things.
Yeah it's a big one. Developed so quickly!
Lots of learning in what I am doing though.
I'm a reader of magazines and news blogs ... could say I'm a bit of a political and sports junkie
Woke up to a thunderstorm--it was really raging there for a while! How's it going for you?
Right back at ya!! Miss you both!
I wonder if that would work with my 12 min commute? Perhaps?
I've also made it a love of mine to re-read favourite every year like "The Great Gatsby" and "Anne of Green Gables" 👍🏻
Your tweet took me back to the Convention Center in Philly. Hope you both have an awesome week!
Me too. I have a book with me for every time I need to wait. I look forward to traffic jams!
My district hosts a book club through the year on books explicitly not related to education. We learn protocols we can use in class.
I'm in Santo Domingo, nothing much is going on, is more towards the west, this is more for precautions
Currently reading PAX for w/ class and The Westing Game for after school book club.
Have to run. Many things to get done this morning. Hope you all are able to ! is a great way to start!

Your school is spilt into houses a la Hogwarts?? I need to teach there! Loving my change so far.
I read w/ kids at school as often as possible. Just read The Girl Who Drank the Moon, I didn't love it, but wanted to...

Recently reread The Scorpio Races by - so beautifully written
Okay will check it out. I typically don't like books about War, but will check!
Could you hear me laugh LOUDLY? Too funny.
Our book club is very flexible. Mostly it is eat and drink club but we talk about what we're reading. Seldom all the same book.

Cannot wait! I have my swag on!
Thanks, all, for the reminder to keep reading! Have a great Monday!
My son is in 8th & I see what u mean. MS assignment reading really turned him off. Used to be an avid reader 💔

Sorry, I missed the non teacher part. I read old stuff. Making my way through the Chronicles of Narnia.
Thanks for a great start. Enjoy Monday!
My school is 5-8; big diff between some of the young & old & their interests. Change my displays weekly.

Happy Monday, all. Heading back to bed (we have off today). See you tomorrow.
I read my baseball books during the offseason. I loved Home Game:)
My opinion only... series gets a bit repetitive and starts to feel like a YA book. Book 2 is OK.
I blame AR. Focus on points over pleasure, no reading time in school-didn't connect to his life
I will check when I'm at the library tomorrow.
Kathy, please send recommendations my way!
Shame, isn't it? We get them reading, then don't give them choices to keep the fire going. Need MS readers! https://t.co/PA9IYisRI5
i'm at a K8 school ... see elementary kids running to library ... middle school kids avoiding the books
Yes, so cool. I also liked the different ways of scheduling deep work. Fits my reality

I used to think I was cheating too! Now a long commute makes audiobooks a must!
Bedtime reading! Currently in the mood 4 thrillers/mystery. Reading Jo Nesbo's "The Redeemer"
love the movie too. I'm a romantic, and a sucker for historical romance.
narrator's voice is so important! Brendan Fraser does an amazing job on Dragon Rider. So good!
hmmm...Brendan Fraser is a crush.... ..voice
Best narration I've listened to during my 2 years of audiobook commuting! ❤️ him even more!

I will say I have stopped listening before because the narrator was not working
I listen to podcasts while I drive to work. is a favorite. Learning about Persian Empire this week.

Evening, David. Besides spambots, pretty quiet at this hour.
Hi Brian! Indeed! We're finishing Labour Day Public Holiday! Yesterday the state I live in moved to Daylight Saving!
1 more month 'til clocks here fall back - near election day. (I'll try to avoid jokes re: descent into darkness.)
LoL! 😄 That could be a metaphor for so many things!
Awesome reminder! I usually read or try to learn some code. Sometimes (maybe most) I just veg
I was just thinking, most folks wouldn't get that reference.
Jewish holiday. We also have off next Wednesday.
