What do we want kids to know? How will we help them learn it? How will we know that they have mastered what we want them to learn? What’s best for our kids? #bfc530#CelebrateMonday#kisdeserveit 😊 👍
As a history teacher although more specific to each lesson, it boils down to "How does the past effect our present?" "What can it teach us?" The lessons can be on the grand scale of the world stage, or focus on personal, every day life. #bfc530
Academically and mathematically, we focus on the idea of “same value, different form”. Understanding that numbers can be written in various ways is important for future math #bfc530
We use the affinity diagram to build our code of cooperation using the prompt: What qualities make great students and teachers? Then we build a rubric based on the words we choose. We set goals and monitor our progress in developing those traits. #bfc530
Why this learning for this child at this time? I first read a version of it in Ontario's Kindergarten document and it really forces me to consider how this particular task is working for each child. #bfc530
Good morning! Still recovering from an exciting weekend of Atlanta United shenanigans. A tad frustrated that the parade is today, so there was no time too put in for a personal day, so the kids and I will have a personal celebration in #room1113#BFC530

Morning #bfc530
Q1. Do I have a connection with each student?
Q2. Is the lesson worth our time?
Q3. What will the students learn from the lesson? That last one is a required part of our lesson plan...
This morning's question is a good one, but wonder if my response is too broad.
Our essential questions are embedded in each curricula area and are posted in each class by unit.
Perhaps EQ ground Ss by posing connections beyond the classroom door?

Student happiness is something many talk about but honestly, I Jini very few actually prioritize. A student who is happy in class wants to be there and will put in the extra effort. #bfc530
WHY?
Its not enough to know what calculations you did to solve a problem. You need to know why you did them, why they work, why you got the answer you did. #bfc530
Good morning #bfc530 friends. Steve from NJ. My essential qs focus on “Am I helping students find their passion?” & “Am I providing authentic experiences for my students?”

An essential question for me when planning a lesson has always been "If I was a student, would I want to be in this class?" Sometimes I plan lessons sitting at a student desk to get in that frame of mind #bfc530

As @presjimryan whilst Dean @hgse said: “This bonus question is posed in many ways...To me, the single best phrasing of this question is in a poem by Raymond Carver, called “Late Fragments.” “And did you get what you wanted out of life, even so?” https://t.co/VJrHSpODE5#bfc530
4 Degrees Celsius is only 4 above freezing! Sounds like it might be a little brisk outside in NY today! Glad I saw it in summer! Have a great day! #bfc530
2/2 but the two notions overlap. Safe kids are happy kids. With our focus is ensuring we have happy kids, don’t we run the risk of teaching them perseverance in the face of adversity? Perseverance is great but it does not always address the new ocean of adversity. #bfc530
