#bfc530 Been dabbling with MOOCs for a couple of years and actually surprised how good some of them are. Any time anywhere PD. Coursera, EdX, Udacity etc. Worth checking out.

Our district provided us with the Skillful Teacher training. It provided me with great strategies and resources. I still will open up that book when lesson planning and I took the training nearly 5 years ago. #bfc530

Taking courses through @Self_Reg has helped me understand the difference between stress behaviour and misbehaviour. That knowledge has made a huge impact on my teaching, parenting & the amount of compassion I am able to extend to myself and others in challenging times. #bfc530
We all need to be educationally fed differently. The key is acknowledging where you need to be lifted up and finding a resource that will fill that need. #bfc530

I love all of the free webinars/summits put on by @DitchThatTxtbk and @jmattmiller. Ideas I can use immediately. I also watch out for what @AMLE has on offer because it’s so MS focused. Joined the 40hTW with @Angela_Watson this year & am finding it powerful #bfc530
#bfc530 Since I began life as an unmotivated student, I empathize. When you get to know students' interests, you have bridged that gap. We have all sat in a class where we felt disconnected. Tap into that memory.
I honestly don’t get out much. We get the equivalent of $ for a one day workshop..With college tuition of my girls, I need to think about how I spend my personal $. I can get mor bang for my buck by buying books. #bfc530

And at conferences - @rickwormeli2 for sure, you can’t miss his wisdom. @Beyond_the_Desk will always give you immediate takeaways. @TechNinjaTodd spoke to our faculty and was inspirational. Would love to have an actual workshop with any of them #bfc530

My view of PD has changed from my opinion of what is the best, to understanding we are each different. Some like the large "party" atmosphere of learning while others like me want to curl in a corner on our own. Differentiated, right? #bfc530
I go back to @HalBowman ... His Teach Like a Rock Star message is very similar to @burgessdave and #TLAP in that it is a reminder of the magnitude of what we are doing ... It is ALL ABOUT THE KIDS. #bfc530

Good morning everyone. By far the best educational learning that I have attended was the #FlipgridLive activities in Minneapolis. So much energy and positivity. The EdCamp, conference, and live presentation were all amazing. #BFC530
Instead of thinking of taking just one PD session, I would love to invite you to explore the #CoP available @participate. You can join in with like minded educators, share resources and discuss topics. And you can take courses in your area of interest. #BFC530

For me, small informal PD like edcamps and twitter chats like #bfc530 turn my gears for improving my craft than a speaker. I like the interaction of thought (Even if I don't say a word, I get to see what others think) that is often lost in a large group setting. #bfc530

I love edcamps, conferences and free webinars. I also enjoy reading new books and sharing ideas with peers. I love to collaborate with people who push my thinking and grow from those experiences #bfc530
In the the past 6 weeks I have been to two different countries to speak and learn. Being around other folks who have great ideas or who challenge my thinking make me better at my jobs. I love the idea of networking as another learning opportunity #bfc530

When I was a new teacher, my principal requested that everyone in my school take a course called @SkillfulTeach. It changed my practice by allowing me to name experiences & skills of teaching and talk about them in concrete ways. Still use what I learned 12 years later. #bfc530
Truly, twitter has improved my practice in just a few minutes every day. Between connecting with my PLN, exploring resources and current news, participating in chats, it’s the free-est, easiest PD out there. #bfc530

I attended my first @EdCampWake Oct. 13, 2018! It was a pleasant, unique experience. The atmosphere was welcoming & safe to either speak or listen. Educators from @WCPSS, @VanceCoSchools, & Chapel-Hill-Carborro @chccs were there. #BFC530#EdCampWake
