A1 A K-20 aligned plan with specific strategies.
Ours doesn't start until Wed! I get two more days of holiday goodies!
A1: a funding mechanism not tied to strength of economy would be a start. $ cuts + decline enrollment make it tough on schools
Matt M AP and proud Fellow!
A1 a K-20 plan that is funded with equity in mind and includes self-paced learning allowing success by mastery not age.
It takes the whole district having a common vision. All stakeholders on board heading in the same direction
Just listening tonight! 😎 Eager to learn from another District(goals)! Reviewed questions from https://t.co/LYopGggPG7

A2 we have to inspect what we expect and continue to provide PD. Narrow focus and get after it!
A2 One method is the use of a common, self pacing LMS combined with classroom observations of lessons focusing on PBL/inquiry.
Well by using 5D+ Evaluation Tool, Ben! Isn't it obvious? :-) https://t.co/iKYqr3wLrl

A2 I most appreciate phrase from goal #2 "model where students

Tammy Jackson, East Jordan chiming in after an amazing Christmas Concert!
A2 question is how do they plan to measure that through standardized tests :)
A2: Opportunities for Ts to learn from one another & collaborate around best practices. Classroom Learning Labs support this.
A3 IMHO it won't be through privatized schools of education outside of colleges/universities as ESSA lays out.
A3 Still working on this but I can tell you simply attending school provided PD would make you minimally effective
A3: T prep programs need to be reviewed by a cmte. of K-12 admins to determine their effectiveness and offer ways to improve
A3: using the teacher evaluation process as a team to improve instruction. Not threatening, should be meaningful convos.
Yes! Have been promoting this for two years. Must make it happen now! https://t.co/uCyjEg7Opg

Q4: Goal #4 speaks to minimizing the impact of high risk factors & supporting all students. Strategies? Measures?
A3: Using a GROWTH mindset when working with teachers. Coaching, modeling, providing feedback, collaborating! TEAM at all times!
A3 I'm often surprised how many Ts haven't read their eval doc and r not working toward improve but satisfied with where they r
so true...to stay on top of education we all need to strive for constant improvement.
Admin needs to provide opportunity and show Ts how this will help them in their classroom. Show the need https://t.co/VsJl2EipEV

frequent checks for understanding r essential with staff https://t.co/LrhnAGBfOa
A4: Weekly data review / meetings to determine what's working & what's not.
use data, interventions, focused on individual Ss When that doesn't work, do it again, and differently. https://t.co/B4F0HnHSBr
Q4: Goal #4 speaks to minimizing the impact of high risk factors & supporting all students. Strategies? Measures?
A5. The first step in the process of increasing parent involvement is determining what you offer parents to be involved in.
A4 Ts need to be challenged to grow. Frequent conversations and goal setting with staff to support there growth is necessary
seek support & partnership of Ps. BUT CAN NOT use it as an excuse. We are responsible for Ss learning. https://t.co/LNzybX3XOc
Q5: Goal #5 seeks involved & engaged parents. How can this be done and how can it be measured?
A5: using online systems such as Skyward to keep parents informed, surveys, websites, Remind101, social media
A5: Must create many, different opportunities to be involved. Find something that appeals to everyone.
Q6: Goal #6 speaks to “soft skills” & a prepared workforce. Is this a focus at your school now? Strategies/Measures?
A6 we have a guaranteed diploma. Must have 4s on all WKs tests to get diploma. Want all students work ready and college ready
A6 exploring using a citizenship score next yr like Reeths-Puffer does. Good stuff!
A6: we have informal but recurring theme of growth mindset at SHS; how we learn from failure & grow, etc https://t.co/Q6CxH6NmH6
