The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.
Q1: at first it was great teachers like @twilhelmus and then seeing how students grew as learners through their sharing of ideas. And the love of learning made me a librarian. @EVPLibrary#INeLearn
R1 I taught yoga after college, not because I thought I would love teaching, but because I loved yoga. The voices of my students made me realize I had a passion for teaching.
#INeLearn
A1: Some of my former teachers inspired me. My parents were the first voices that inspired me. Also, seeing my students' voice inspired me to be a teacher for years to come. #INeLearn#ICEIndiana
A1: my phenomenal swim coach who was also a teacher, my 6th grade teacher, my 7th grade history teacher! All believed in me and pushed me to do more than I thought I could. They’re also all some of the kindest, hardworking people I’ve met #INeLearn
A2: Learning new ideas I can take back to my classroom or seeing things in a new way that makes my classroom more engaging. Also, meeting fellow teachers to collaborate with! #ICEIndiana#INeLearn
I hope to make a new connection, or strengthen a connection I’ve made through an online #PLN Also, I want to feel inspired by others in my position and remind myself I am not alone. #INeLearn
A2: State conferences are 2 fold--I love bringing home ideas I can implement right away and really enjoy connecting with educators I can learn even more from throughout the year. #INeLearn#missingICEIndiana
R2 I hope to find ideas to share with my teachers, especially those "hard-to-tech" subjects/grade levels. I also hope to finally meet some of my Twitter PLN!
#INeLearn,
R2: I love networking with fellow edtech teachers and leaders FTF. Meeting people I follow on Twitter as well. Getting top notch sessions to churn up more creativity fuels me at conferences as well 😎#INeLearn
A2 I would like to see how other districts are implementing technology into the classroom. Also to bring back a list of software / tools to show my teachers. #INeLearn
A2: expanding my PLN, teachers are each other’s greatest support system!Plus, getting valuable ideas from other experts in the state and beyond who challenge and inspire my thinking. Today was invigorating and I have a renewed sense of excitement for the next work week! #INeLearn
R1: several years in the classroom feeling like my voice wasn’t heard- then I took a class with a weird and whacky science teacher..he used project based learning in his room and played the Beatles. I wanted to be Mr. McCurdy...he was a teacher unicorn. #INeLearn
Yes! And also how other schools offer PD. Great sessions today about badging, great ideas on how to get teacher buy-in plus great ideas of new tech tools to try! Win win! #INeLearn
Q3: If I can be honest, I think this is something we can all do better. We need to stay connected beyond a conference the @The411Vodcast is a great example #INeLearn#ICEIndiana
A3: Twitter! Trying to follow as many presenters I interact with as possible. Also, attending more conferences! Hoping to also work with another district to get examples on how they set up badging and PD as well-if we work together then we’ll make even more connections! #INeLearn
R3: One thing I like about attending ICE is seeing Ts/coaches in person who are in my Twitter PLN, then keeping conversations going on Twitter #inelearn
R3: Social media- I love SEEING what my fellow teacher warriors are doing in my room. It’s motivating, it’s refreshing. Helps me keep my teacher game fresh. Also great to reach out with concerns and hear my colleagues say “it’s okay” or better yet “give this a try” #INeLearn
Q4: What “voice” in public education do you think is NOT being heard and how can we amplify that voice as an organization/conference? #INeLearn#ICEIndiana
Q4: What “voice” in public education do you think is NOT being heard and how can we amplify that voice as an organization/conference? #INeLearn#ICEIndiana
A4: Student voice. So many students still do not have ownership in what they learn and how they learn-which doesn’t make any sense because it’s all supposed to be for THEIR benefit in the end! We’we made progress, but there’s still work to do #INeLearn
A4: The teacher voice is continuing to create disruption at all levels of education in a positive way, and @iceindiana provide a platform to amplify this voice #INeLearn
R4: Digital Equity, Student Voices...Maybe having a session at conferences on hard topics like this but with an opportunity to discuss and brainstorm 🧠 #INeLearn
R4: I believe the voice of the parents/guardians aren’t being heard. I think this is sometimes why parents feel disconnected: They don’t know what’s going on. We can help by having more opportunities for the Ss and Ps to learn together outside of school. (+) #INelearn
R4.2: opportunities for them to come together and the parents learn Google Classroom, G.Suite, Canvas, etc. This way they can help..
Also love how @alicekeeler recommends putting a parent’s corner on G.Classroom assignments! #INeLearn
LOVE the student presenters at teacher conferences.. Also don't forget that we have hoosier student digital leader conferences coming up! November 14th at Concord Schools! 😃 #INeLearn
A4. We are amplifying our message but as @micheeaton has said we need to get out of our echo chamber. The message of Student Voice needs spread beyond those who attend. #INelearn
R5 The easiest way for me to promote creativity and creative thinking is to ask the right questions... Questions without right/wrong answers.
#INeLearn
A5: Creating an environment where content is presented in different ways to support all learners. Also, giving students choices on how to show their understanding. @Seesaw is one platform I use. #ICEIndiana#INeLearn
R5: By giving the students choices on how to complete their assignments. Sometimes what one student feels confident in, the others do not. Let them make videos, slides, drawings, etc. to express what they have learned. Throw the cookie cutters away! #INeLearn
R4: Important to remember a conference or a classroom is filled w/multiple voices. Each voice is a product of different life experiences, backgrounds & goals. Need to remember each voice brings something to the table-may need to quiet your voice to listen now & again #INeLearn
A5: encouraging teachers to attend conferences and helping provide funds to get them there. Celebrating those who do wonderful work in big and/or small ways whether it be shout-outs, prizes, or more! Encouraging no teachers to take risks as Matt Miller would say #INeLearn

Some educators go out after #ICEIndiana. We record podcasts, do the #INeLearn Twitter chat and wear sheet masks. We're working on improving our "radio faces."
A6: My favorite tool so far is @SeeSaw because it helps all of my learners find their voice, whether they snap a picture, type a response, or verbally communicate their learning. #ICEIndiana#INeLearn
A6: I’m biased but love @itslearning because it provides si many options for Ss/Ts to express/communicate creatively, all in one place. @Flipgrid is also a blast and fun to show to parents. I had students create AMAZING video projects and ebooks with @BookCreatorApp#INeLearn

R5: I try my best to create a classroom environment where students feel empowered. If I want amazingly creative work from my Ss, I need them to feel comfortable in their habitat-comfortable asking questions and stepping outside the box. #INeLearn
A6: Good old fashion Morning Meeting with my Kinders. Teaching them to share and listen with #kindwords and #respect. We in turn practice this in Canvas discussions and seesaw responses! #INeLearn
A7: Continue with Twitter chats 😁 you all have done a lot, now we as attendees need to create and build our own PLNs and PD opportunities. Present what we’ve learned to our colleagues! Kids deserve it! #INeLearn
I think a reviewed, one-stop-shop, of educator resources where educators across the state can review tools and content would be a great resource #ICEIndiana#INeLearn
Q8: What session(s) or presenter(s) are you most excited to interact with, or follow this year? Or, what was your favorite part of Day One of #ICEIndiana? #INeLearn

A8: loved hearing from everyone today, especially the keynotes @jmattmiller@k_shelton but I’m also excited I now have more podcasts to enjoy courtesy @CADPODCAST1! Also enjoying following and tweeting with everyone in this chat #INeLearn
A8. I can’t wait to hear more from @rushtonh and have experiences like the Keynotes today to help me think about bias in my own environment. #INelearn#ICEIndiana
