I reflect at the end of the day, need to start writing my three positives / gratitudes again in my journal.
A1) A belief that we're all helps me be thankful those those around me.
Me too. Thinking of starting my own for my gratitude statements since I'm on my computer so much.
A1: This is a tough one, I do it on my drive to/from school as I reflect on the day. Its a chance to reflect and think
A1 Spending my weekends at the lake does a lot to rejuvenate me and keep me grateful for the important things in life.
A1: I get some amazing country/farmland sunrise scenes on my drive to school that help remind me to list all the gratitudes
Surround myself with people that reflect who I want to be and how I want to feel, energies are contagious.
Life happens! Just happy when we see friendly faces pop back into our stream!
I need to get myself a lake. :)
A1: I reflect once the day is over as I finish drinking my 7 hour old coffee. I lso think about the little things that impact me!
A1: I think about everything that others have done for me (T, friends, family, etc) and how important that is to me
Hope you are a Cubs fan- that is a load of runs.
Reds fan so I tend to go with the National League. Looks like Game 7 will be happening.
A2: A good def. could be linking back to Thanksgiving and what Ss are the idea of being thankful for something
A2 Taking time out to be thankful for the gifts and moments in our life that we often take for granted.
We've blogged a Top 50 list in the past at Thanksgiving. Gets them reflecting and in a grateful mood.
A2: Recognizing + appreciating the people in our lives, especially those that go out of their way to help us
I've done a "I couldn't live without..." prompt before - kids really loved it
A3: We could set up a form of PBIS where Ss give tickets to others for doing some that they are grateful for
Awesome idea! Really gets the Ss thinking about being grateful! https://t.co/GW4G8zsHEU
I've done a "I couldn't live without..." prompt before - kids really loved it
A3 Current rd aloud is A Long Walk to Water - about water crisis/war in S. Sudan. Makes kids appreciative and want to help.
is our hashtag to help connect our Ss. Planning to do some weekly slowchats to start us out.
I've done this before but post them in the classroom so others can see and be encouraged
I am interested in this! Checking it out! Thanks for sharing it!
A3: S gratitude 4 each other is so important. Try Gratitude Spies, Ss spy on another S, then say what they r grateful 4 about them
That's on my list to read this year. I am reading Pax right now...talking about sacrifice, gratitude
Do you have to pay for it, or is it free?
have started a "Pay It Forward"
A4: W/ Veteran's day coming up have students reflect on how they are grateful to the veterans and invite some in or send letters
I haven't done this before, but it fits with my Mission Impossible theme game that I am doing. Starting this tomorrow!
I read this book last year. Great project.
Q4: I use films to build gratitude in middle school.
A4 Take time out to have kids write to former teachers or other people that have made a positive impact in their life.
Any titles that you would recommend us checking out?
This is an awesome idea! I'm our student council adviser and I think we need to steal this idea!
How do you do this? What films do you use?
I am so grateful for the PLC. You have no idea how you all inspire me. You must know how amazing you all a… https://t.co/9L1xgJOHUr

A5: "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?", all about how everyone has a personal bucket that is filled with good things
Same group Salaam Neighbor. They live in a refugee camp. On Netflix as well. .
Hi Michelle! So happy you are here! Thanks for being here! Grateful you made it!
books, the Richest Man in Town
Saw a CyberSafety presentation today & it drove home need that youth need to be built up & see good around them to combat bullying
Ok. I'll do some research. How about our 6ths read gratitude books/stories to primary. Create a mini-lesson.
My tweetdeck crashed! Sorry Time to catch up!
I hate when that happens.
A6: Have students take a field trip around the school and then write letters to staff or Ss they see doing something good/helpful
Q4: On the Way to School (not Netflix). Kids around the world get to school. 2 bro's push their other brother in wheel chair
That is an awesome idea! Mind if I steal it to offer to our student council?
We exercise every morning outside. It's a perfect way to start the day. Breathing, stretches, then workout. https://t.co/SbCWjFoaYC
Great way to teach sensory details. Get them paying attention to the little things they normally don't notice.
A6: Ss need to be aware of how hurtful they can be, even when not meaning to be. Make sure Ss r comfortable bringing this up always
Love that book! It makes a big impact across grade levels!
A6 We have been discussing the Classroom Habitudes-doing self-awareness right now.
Awesome idea! Ss will get used to recognizing and appreciating actions of others! https://t.co/6zYkcvXGsL
A6: Have students take a field trip around the school and then write letters to staff or Ss they see doing something good/helpful
A7: Ss showing respect towards each other and a generally more behaved class
A7 Probably less complaining and more helping and looking after each other.
A7: a greater sense of community
A7) Ss perspectives will change, an inclusive environment will be created, and empathy will take root.
A7: Respectful, Connectiveness, more accepting of differences, an understanding of what others do around the school, HAPPIER
A7: It will transform the classroom! Ss will be kinder, more appreciative, and more comfortable. T and Ss will be happier
Thanks. Our tweeners needs us to model this. Doesn't always happen naturally.
Bellringer reflections, one T has Ss do three positives every day!
A8: Continue to display the attitudes for Ss to get them thinking. Use journals to continue thoughts
A8 Model it. Share openly with the kids throughout the yr. moments that u become grateful for both in and out of school.
I agree, Bryan. We must verbalize our gratitude. Make it a habit that is automatic. Hopefully it will be contagious.
A8: I am going to have a "Thank-ful question" a few times a month for Morning Meeting so Ss can say who they are grateful for.
A8: I've had them keep a weekly reflection journal and one of the prompts they had to answer was something they were grateful for
I think it is important to do this often and I do not do it enough. Thanks for reminding me.
A8 Model it. Share openly with the kids throughout the yr. moments that u become grateful for both in and out of school.
