@misskoplin are you joining the fun in #122edchat tonight??
  • megan_hacholski - Moderator Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: I love spending some time just talking with my kids about their lives. Those moments are when relationships are built and strengthened. #122edchat
  • _on11 - Moderator Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: A few years back we had "Bad Joke Friday" at precisely 8:27 AM. Kids that told jokes got booed, mercilessly. Broke up the monotony of the week. Finding ways to share stories and laughs with kids is key. #122edchat
  • sarah_settanni Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: To brighten the mood of the classroom, I think music and video clips can be a great way to add energy if you normally don't do as much of that. To learn more about WWI, my students listened to six songs from WWI and analyzed them as primary sources! #122edchat
  • MrPStrunk Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: Throughout the year I work to incorporate student voice and creativity into my lessons. Spring is not different. I overheard some of my students say the other day that history class flies by. My hope is because they feel like they are involved in our learning. #122edchat
  • MrOGallegos Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1: To brighten up the room, I usually tell a dry joke or tell a story about myself. Ss love hearing stories to see that their teachers are also humans. #122edchat
  • m_drez Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1 Drones, robotics, coding projects, basically anything I have in my possession that gets the kids doing some hands on stuff. We have an @arsandbox ready for launch too. Should keep things fun. Trying to get some @microbit_edu for the Spring! #122edchat

    In reply to @teacherforest
  • LaurenPorosoff Mar 21 @ 8:06 PM EDT
A1 Spring is a great time to build on themes and skills students have learned throughout the year—e.g. after studying social justice themes and poetic devices during other units, students created and performed their own spoken-word poems. #122edchat

A1- I try to make class as entertaining as possible. I try to save our novel until the end of the year to really keep the students involved in class. #122edchat
  • MillerMathSMS Mar 21 @ 8:07 PM EDT
A1: Most of the time, I just talk to my Ss about their day.. this usually leads to finding out they made the soccer team, that they're going to be a big sister, they went to the movies last night, etc. It always gets the Ss talking and brightened up again! #122edchat
  • sarah_settanni Mar 21 @ 8:07 PM EDT
Q1: What are some activities that you do in class to brighten the mood in the classroom? #122edchat

  • mdeegan122 Mar 21 @ 8:07 PM EDT
