Good morning #bfc530- new school this year so new-to-me tradition of going to a summer camp overnight. Outdoor activities all day, bonfire and stories in the evening then sleeping in cabins. I grew up going to summer camp but this will be new for many of my students- can't wait!
On the first Assembly the Year 7s (the youngest) attend, the Year 12s (the oldest) make a guard of honour.On the last day of Year 12, the Year 7s make the guard of honour back #bfc530
At our 8th grade award assembly on the last day, the team who won our Biome Zoo presentation when they were in 7th presents award to this year's winner. It's last award & passing of torch #bfc530

My 6th-graders transition to Junior High next year. On the last day (tomorrow), I will take them around to every teacher so they can give them one final hug, as most will not come back to visit again. The teachers and students enjoy it. #bfc530

This whole week is filled with Senior Athletic Awards, Senior Class, and Graduation night. We also have Underclassmen Awards in 2 weeks. All major events that celebrate accomplishments, the graduation, and the up and coming students. #bfc530

Our 5th grade “graduation” is something that is really beautiful: the kids really dress up, they are nervous & excited to be going to middle school. Still babies, but not. Some I have known since Kg, so it’s like watching my own kids move on. #bfc530

We tend to fizz out a bit as Year 12s have their "last day" but then have state wide subject exams. Depending on their subjects they finish on different days.

Our end of year traditions include “Fun Day” where we have a big carnival outside in the school yard and get the principal in the dunk tank. We also have a kickball game with the 8th graders vs. The teachers on the last Friday. #bfc530
#bfc530 my school does a clap-out for our 8th graders that will be leaving middle school. The 6th and 7th grade students as well as the teachers line up and create a tunnel for them to exit the field. It’s great for kids to know that you recognize and applaud their successes!

#bfc530 I agree! I’m always looking for fun ideas for the end of the year. I love to take pictures of my students to hang on my classroom wall and have them reflect on their experience throughout the year in a survey. I also have students reflect on their biggest accomplishment!
My daughter loved it! It’s a great tradition. And then her after school program took them all out for ice cream @Oberweis! Added bonus that they were giving 30% back to the school for last day celebrations! #bfc530
#bfc530 I wholeheartedly agree. I always try to improve and even let my kids know when I am trying something new or want them to be my pilot group for a new program. They need to notice that you work just as hard as you expect them to work.
We do a 5th grade vs. staff kickball game! The Ss always look forward to that on the last day. We also do the 5th grade goodbye walk around the building . It mirrors the walk the seniors come and do at their elementary school a few days before. #bfc530
