Today's : How can an LMS be used to personalize learning & meet each Ss' unique strengths, needs, interests? https://t.co/25gZXrtVBz
Hi
Carl from Avonsleigh Australia
Wednesday night so its watching soccer training but they are Indoor tonight
Good Morning, ! Looking forward to a great Wednesday- we still have 6.5 days with students!
We have til next thurs with Ss. But that question is a great one. time for some research on Ts :)
Thank you! It is always so bittersweet
Good morning to all my friends! David MS Principal from VA, ready to put a bow on this school year...
I attribute my affliction to my age...😉
:) Looking forward to sleeping through the night this summer! :)
Could be that too for me! But it is almost always school.
Good morning, ! Chantell from IN. Happy to start my day w/all of you! Planning to take the Google Admin exam this morning!
Good topic
Our LMS allows us to post different tasks but students still need to be directed to them
I started yesterday. I just love it!
That would b too easy, make too much sense! Enjoy the last day though!
need more coffee !!!! https://t.co/UFUH6kJW5j
Good Morning! Last day with Ss today. Up at 330 processing. Why cant our brains process during the day?
Google drive helps me conference with Ss individually at my choice of time!
I think this is a real issues for Ts. I hear it a lot. But I"m excited for your sleep!!!
Real time collaboration and feedback. Meeting virtually. Ss more likely to ask questions. https://t.co/qF76lopyXf
Today's : How can an LMS be used to personalize learning & meet each Ss' unique strengths, needs, interests? https://t.co/25gZXrtVBz
I love being able to leave comments on their paper without actually writing on their paper.
yes you can personalize task for Ss depending on their needs, levels and/or accommodations
Google Classroom can be personalized for every Ss
LMSs are group friendly for collaboration, SBL, and PBL. Simple make-up group can remediate n give pos. formative assessment
We did a bookclub this year with . Love the hooks. Inspiring!
Watching the posts on this morning to learn about LMS and personalization.
Brian, HS principal from Mass.
I luxuriously sleep all the way til 6 am in summer!
agree, it's so much quicker to comment , send back to them & they can respond back also
I also like that google drive keeps a record of the comments so even when Ss say they followed advice T can go back and check.
Good morning, ! Melissa in NJ. Wrapping up and winding given this week! Love that today's topic is about !
The only "LMS" we use is Google Classrm, but it allows Ts to post multiple assignments, give options, +offer feedback in real time.
I love the revision history, so I can track their progress
Reply 2: LMS can promote interest by PBL & use as a virtual makerspace
The feedback loop in Google is so much quicker
is great! makes you think about so many things you do.
Me too. I once went back and was able to see that the dad did all the work.
and it works on every device out there
I'm reading I love it. I downloaded 7th Wish So much to read, but no complaints. Love reading.
What are you all using? Anyone using ?
It is also justifying what I do! and making me realize how important it is!
Rather than a LMS we uee a number of other programs where we can allocate tasks to Ss. LMS comes from Head Office
did he get a good grade ?
G'morning ! Not sure I've ever used true LMS in low tech school, but love Gclassroom b/c I can track Ss progress and help as needed
7th Wish..just amazing..no words..You will read in 1 sitting.
in Google docs you can tag Ss in comments so they get quick notifications too
Is LMS a good gradeless classroom venue? Google Classroom can curate the LEARNING. https://t.co/EBYzdjxVyz
Reply 2: LMS can promote interest by PBL & use as a virtual makerspace
yes we here also, may not be a "true" LMS, but does a great job https://t.co/94rQ3FSMOn
G'morning ! Not sure I've ever used true LMS in low tech school, but love Gclassroom b/c I can track Ss progress and help as needed
hahahaha Lesson learned by me..no more writing hw for that S. (or at least if I was looking to grade it)
We looked but Google is already part of our school culture.
Always a special time of the day, joining friends! Thank you for these moments when we connect and support each other!
Can people share examples of beyond google- or resources connected to ? THANK YOU!
well said friend, so true !! https://t.co/KhprI8KU6c
Always a special time of the day, joining friends! Thank you for these moments when we connect and support each other!
What are some of the programs you use?
I do luke STILE
I use it with different classes and brilliant if you are away and want to leave Ss clear instructions
Does go on hiatus in the summer? If so, when?
Great question..I know there was talk of this. https://t.co/LAIZ3DVIir
Does go on hiatus in the summer? If so, when?
As long as Ss open assignment in Classroom, I can interact with them without them "turning it in."
Also use Maths Online for maths. Prefer ut as a place Ss can look at when home. Feels a distraction in class
most likely July off then maybe slow chat in Aug. will let us know
I Think it runs through before it breaks for summer
What a 'just-in-time' feedback tool, where feedback can continue to be revisited!
STILE would be my favourite
Honestly don't see need to spend big $$on an LMS w/GClassroom. Keeps the focus on S work, easy to use, +always improving
Makes sense. I can vicariously be in Denver via . https://t.co/mC40eT0S3c
I Think it runs through before it breaks for summer
I like how OneNote can allow student and teacher to communicate on an assignment. Each s can have personalized inst. if you want.
Looking, too. I like that integrates Google & streamlines T collaboration, S feedback, & parent communication.
Canvas, Schoology, etc are some popular LMS
we were looking to purchase replacement w sunset of My Big Campus - Ts using GAFE questioned need
Good morning, Melissa! We use Desire2Learn.
Parent integration is the one think missing in Classroom. Hopefully added this summer
think Canvas has similar features w Google - did a demo earlier this year, nice looking product
Thanks for this morning's inspiration!
I still prefer to communicate with S through school email. Keeps goid record of communication
Have a great day everyone!
OneNote is Microseoft? Dont have any experience w it, should probably put that on my list!
I'm also a big fan of slow chats! 😊
Agree, but calendar sharing was a big step this year! Can't wait to see how it continues to evolve!
We use OneNote notebooks in Office 365. Not sure if it is a LMS. Allows personalization, collab,& feedback. https://t.co/QFWM5AYAzE
What are you all using? Anyone using ?
I always cc Ss when I contact parents...good or bad or just plain news.
We looked at that too, just hard to get Ts to change what they already know and love.
. by giving each student choices. Evaluate on how a student thinks not on how well they remember content.
Leslye from ND We used to use Edmodo but are now GAFE K-12. Love Google!Easy to use and Chromebook friendly.
We use OneNote in our district too.
That was a game changer for buy in this Winter
I like that an LMS can allow Ss choice on how to create products to show understanding
what type of parent component are you looking for? We have PowerSchool for them to check grades, etc.
Have a great day, Friends! Always a great start to my day.
an LMS can do the same & keep a record. We use Canvas & it has the ability to send the messages to S email too
LMS makes parent integration easier. Even in more economically more challenges communities.
We use an SIS for grades & such, but want parents to see assignments, due dates, exactly what Ss see
Have a great day ! Thanks for helping me learn about !
I want a that keeps things as simple as possible for Ss, Ts, & Ps. Would love one platform to do all.
All the time I can spare this am! Have fun w/your Ss if you're lucky enough to still be teaching today! Don't forget to be awesome,
I always wonder about that at HS level - when do we let Ss be responsible for managing own academic life?
Would love to go beyond grades...enroll parents in "courses," keep them part of schoop community.
I do as well. An organized, easy way to search for a thread and remind myself of previous coms. https://t.co/hzHZ10oNC8
I still prefer to communicate with S through school email. Keeps goid record of communication
When admin and parents make students take responsibility, not look for excuses LMS won't fix that
LMS makes communicating with parents easier, even in more economically challenged communities
our district use Canvas which allows parents to create accounts linking them to Ss to view content & grades
Do you use now? What SIS do you use? Do you use Google, too?
Very easy to use. Great for research. Gathers references for you. Tons of great features.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday! Enjoy and savour your remaining days of the school year!
Genesis, NJ specific SIS and it is awesome!
Mostly use Google as LMS, but I try them all and support whatever Ts want to use
I have used , , Google, for professional development
Good morning crew! Love following the chat this week about LMS! I love using RazKids and DreamBox to follow student learning 🤗🌟
we gotcha! (Altho lack of coffee on this end, too - I first read as ) = )
We used Moodle a while back, but couldn't get buy in from Ts.
Wow! Would love to talk to you! Looking at options for next year.
Ts like Google because it's tied in with what we use already
when Ps have open access, I wonder if that increases tech disparity b/t homes depending on access w/in home
LOL. That could work, too!
here all day :) though today I have a root canal. I love sharing.
We are looking at that now and surveying what they have at home and what is avail for community
I've tried them all! Lol. Reach out any time.
It may. I'm hoping we can work with families to get them what they need.
so long - off to Day 2 Regents exams. May your Wednesday be kind!
it can, but everyone has a cell phone. Receiving content is easier & cheaper than creating.
I thought tech would widen disparity, but when I was in LA it made it easier for carless Ps
Yep. Access to tech doesn't have to be complicated, just reliable.
can't make it to the P T conference, bcse you worked night shift. Let's Skype, email, chat.
I also often forget that the phone exists...lol..phone is tech too. It is a great tool
huge Google & Chromebook fan. Wish I had those resources back when I was teaching middle school.
Our school is looking to use BrightSpace next year.

Hello, Wednesday & . Hack your LMS by making choices (of task + resource formats) & 2-way communication inherent in what it offers.

First build a sense of community in the virtual space of the LMS. Trust. Then we can personalize. https://t.co/EBUsIWK4Az
