A3. I prefer to write essays — 800 to 1200 words. Biggest challenge is writing opening paragraph. Needs to hook the reader…
A3. WELLLL …one of my pleasant challenges is Muse management…an active mind and an energetic Muse keeps my thumbs on the keys…
Great! Supports my practice as well. Getting some good feedback from colleagues
You just have to go for it. The hardest step is the first one.
I once got advice from an experienced blogger - picture few real people you know who represent your audience.
Thanks... whatever the reason (kissing up is okay) I accept..
A2: I still consider myself a 'beginner' as a blogger...learning so much from many of you...you inspire the topics for me!

That's the hope and thanks!
looks like you've been around! My wife taught in Quito for a year.

A2 I write unfinished pieces about real classrooms and kids 2 engage others in convos. Not about perfection. Work in progress.
Don't give up. I taught for 14 years before I ever wrote about it. Now, that's almost all I write! https://t.co/Ls3Low3Zo8
I think one of my issues on my teaching blog, I haven't found my voice and purpose
A:3 I'm often too wordy. I overcame passive voice, though!! I would love to be able to write metaphorically...

My writing is censored. This is not my authentic self.
It is a pc watered down version that won't gt me fired.
A3 preferred form of writing is usually narrative. Though I think it's important to support my ideas with some research.
I think our commitment to keep learning is the most important thing we can do as educators to improve.
A3: Sometimes post flow out of me and other times it's like giving birth. The process is just as important.
A3: I do not prefer essays:) lol I think in pictures, and try telling a story that describes my thoughts and feelings.
I can relate to that! Sometimes I can't continue as I get overwhelmed with my own ideas - too many an once:)
A3: I really struggle with redundancy. Redundancy stems from a struggle to find my authentic written voice.
Listen up! AP Lang and AP Lit Students: read message below and apply. https://t.co/rDl88jjUJ5

Definitely the problem I have. I use my notepad app to do personal "quick writes" when an idea comes
A3: I love blogging. I *desperately* want to write a book on a very unpopular topic b/c I think it will help Ts, but alas ...
One of my favorite professors told me to write what you know. Og Mandino wrote me a letter once/same point.
A3: Sometimes my biggest challenge is hitting the "post" button. It can be nerve wracking to share learning exp w/ unknown.
True. However, I like people 2 hear about the specific great things happening--build pride in kiddos. https://t.co/HLmFNHBisL

Dynamic duo of writing ->
Just sent you some contacts by DM. Good people there.
I often find that when I think I am the only 1 struggling with something, I blog & find out others are also struggling.
A3: Writing in a 2nd language isn't always easy, but it does get easier the more I write :) To overcome - just keep writing
Thanks for the suggestions!
this is exactly what we need to teach Ss!
thank you Mark. Though one time someone told me that inspiration comes from within :)
How do you get past the rewriting stage? I'm never happy with it or finish.
you are doing just fine Mark :-)
Yes! I get on a roll with and then another pops up !
Yes, this is how we approach writing, narrative but researched based as well. https://t.co/ycAvOnWNLJ
A3 preferred form of writing is usually narrative. Though I think it's important to support my ideas with some research.
A2 Also my writing helps me reflect on my own views/practise. Even if nobody read my writing, this alone justifies the effort
Yes, friend. Best fiction writers spend yrs researching before "inventing."
I write to reflect of my performance, make improvements, or celebrate successes. I write with a "growth mindset"
A3 I don't want2write harsh or mean words.Want to encourage/inspire w/o shock factor, attn getter language
I need to cut out early and greet kids on a Fri morning - thanks for the great chat
Jumping on a bit late, I love writing, have a huge stack of journals to prove it!
wow good on you. I haven't tried blogging in my now second language.
A3: Keeping the text succinct enough so that is is still meaningful and practical for me and other readers.
He is able to because his "heart" is really in it:) Mark is really listening to all of us.
So sad to miss I always loved 2write & now that I have my blog I write from my heart on education & life. Faige retired k Tchr
A feeling I know I think of it tossing casting a paper airplane out the window...let go, but faith it'll fly.
A3 Short and to the point, brutal honesty with very little chance of misinterpretation. https://t.co/cM5BFXENIQ
Q3 With your preferred form of writing, what literary challenges do you experience? How to overcome? https://t.co/aqFSkRmjI4
I feel the same way, but maybe haven't gotten to the point where I'll still write even if others aren't reading.
That's because a writer is truly never done! https://t.co/mic6hU91fQ
How do you get past the rewriting stage? I'm never happy with it or finish.
A3: plenty of challenges writing. Procrastination, low literature capacity
Nice advice ! My fiction is a life of research! https://t.co/kXgVK18TPk
Yes, friend. Best fiction writers spend yrs researching before "inventing."
I think it's a nice balance.
That's where i get caught and then it's in limbo. I don't share and lose interest to go back.
hey Alan... have you found that writing sharpens you thinking and disciplines your mind?
I usually tweet out my blog to chats so that I can get some feedback.
Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to read.
Have a supportive writing community to bounce ideas off.
It helps us to really reflect don't you think?

Wow-look at that your tweet are even poetic. Nice.
Agreed, but I am cautious...might just be me. I want support of others before mentioning them.
Beth Randall checking in from North Street, Michigan!
It does... but kind words of encouragement help one to look inward.
A3. I write essay style in my blog posts but think I would have more success with lists, bullet point, numbering. More catchy.
thank you. This was one of the hardest pieces I've ever written.
is now trending in USA, ranking 41
Love what you say here. It is me. All of it.
A3: literary challenges --elaborating when needed and knowing when and how to be concise
A3 challenge: how do I pick what other educators are interested in reading?
I think in pictures, too. I think sharing our stories is so valuable.
It's a lot of prep work...
thanks. Can't ever write as public employee.
thank you so much. I try! Positive thoughts, words, and actions
that's one awesome reason! Do it for self development, lifelong learning it is. https://t.co/bb2gEXjvdQ
A2 Also my writing helps me reflect on my own views/practise. Even if nobody read my writing, this alone justifies the effort
Good evening . Melissa from NJ stopping by. Teachers as writers is a really important topic, one of my favorites.
Writing daily is an exercise in creation.
try it... then let's discuss...
A3: I struggle with signal boosting my writing. There are some bloggers who seem to tweet EVERYONE their pieces.
A4. Proud any time I manage to post. Consistency is tough. But personal reflection is hard so this - https://t.co/OVeVH2BmSV
You can post a survey on your blog and see what they say!
arabic. It actually was my first then became second. lol how about yourself?
Agreed! An ongoing challenge...juggling priorities...sometimes I bump it to the top of my list! 😊
can't take credit there...quoting something I tell my Ss when writing. I think it may be from Lucy Calkins.
I felt the same way when I started this past summer. Each time I hit post it gets easier.
A4. I had to dig deep to write this piece… And The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth – The Heartland Series https://t.co/b2f6pg15je

I know I like a good old-fashioned "Top 10" list :)
me too... I'm an iterative writer.
I had a co-blogger; we edited each other's work. Using an editing process can give it finality.
That takes so much energy. Not trying to get famous with my blog. Basically livestreaming self-therapy https://t.co/c7HA8lL7hp
A3: I struggle with signal boosting my writing. There are some bloggers who seem to tweet EVERYONE their pieces.

A4.1: This was one that really got me thinking honestly about how my practice impacts my Ss though. https://t.co/qtEM6pBlGp
I've done this when writing group articles. Google Docs
I struggle with this too. My rule is tweet 2-3 times, maybe a few weeks later once or twice. That's it.
My 1st is Russian, English is 2nd. I mostly read/write in English. Just started in Russian- feels strange.. both are 2nd:)
A4 Took 4yrs to research, get feedback from editors, then take the plunge and publish. Now I have 3 step series. Wow.
My wondering...Is the priority my reflections for me OR for other readers? That's what I'm trying to determine.
We must also be advocates! Great job. And brave! https://t.co/FXkWgc07RS
