I grew up in Paris, went to North Lamar!

Julee frim Corpus here. Exhausted from setting up a book fair. I ordered a great teen section for older kids.
A1 We use Makerspaces, tech clubs, and genius hour to let students explore their creativity!
Agreed! Ss need more opportunity to use imagination!
One goal I have is that they will share with others and increase participation for future events.
A1. my main goal is for my students to know they belong. they matter. we care.
A1: Allow patrons to think outside the box and challenge themselves
A1. To have fun and to see the library as a vibrant, lively place

A2: We are having dress up days, today was mustache for THE LORAX. We also have a QR Seuss quiz hung around the building.

Our Art teacher did Art with books from books that were being thrown away. They are on display in the library.
A3. Find lots of ideas on Pinterest. Use Schoology, our school's LMS, to promote book club mtgs & other programming activities.

I love Twitter, blogs, etc. Best ideas come from my PLN of librarians, teachers, tech folks, admin. The more the merrier!

A3 & A4- Twitter is a way to learn and promote.. As well as websites and blogs!
A4: Passing out notices in the hallways works the best for us!
We have had a lot of fun with this book fair Beatles music every morning and a lava lamp too!

A2-our hack-a-thon will 1) teach Ss what hacking really is & 2) let them "take over" their fave website and change it up.
We will have to compare notes. I already placed a major restock because I know exactly what will and wont sell.
A4: Get the word out about What's Happenin' In the Library by going to the well, wherever that is

We're doing a book tournament too and it's their favorite to see the result at the end of every week.
A4: I find that talking about it when kids come to library helps. I also make bookmarks to promote. They love free bookmarks!

Prizes! YES, my Ss love to win pencils, bookmarks, and paperback books (I get these from my book fair).
My paperback Bluebonnets sold quick, but many were hardback. Too expensive for the kids.
A4: we use some social media but depending on event, morning announcements & kids telling kids!
My 3rd year of March madness,I do a bracket contest & predict winners, 150 entries this yr up from 63 last year

Yes, my kids are often disappointed when they find that the hardcover books are so pricey.
UV Spy Pens, Shopkins is the big buzz with kids, and I sell out of all books that I book talk-so I ordered extras
