A1: A digital citizen is someone who uses online resources in a safe, responsible, and respectful way.
Q1 live: How do you define digital citizenship? How is it similar to or different than character education?
A1: - acting appropriately and protecting yourself online. CharEd - agreed upon norms for behavior that we try to teach.
Now A1: respect for self and others
A1: is being responsible and safe - It goes hand and hand with character ed!
Q1: Digital citizenship, to me, is about showing responsibility and leadership in the digital world of which you are knowledgeable

A2: An important element is thinking it through before taking action

A2: All elements of are important. Digital communication, etiquette, and literacy encompass quite a bit of daily tech use.
A2: Projecting a positive image of yourself, treating others with respect & synthesizing the truth online.
A2: Communication, Digital Footprint, and Information Literacy - These are areas where we can help be role models for the community.
Benefits and consequences - YES!
A1: Very similar to character ed in terms of how u treat others and show responsibility.
A2. All areas are important and tied together. Taking time to think about digital actions before and during use are important
And reflecting about their choices after!

A2: Feel Ts need to scaffold our digital lessons for our youngest Ss. A class blog or posting on a padlet are good first lessons.
Absolutely! I love giving students authentic experiences to learn about audience and word choice.

Even just thinking "out loud" for Ss to hear what Ts are thinking when they use tech in classroom

A3: So proud of CG for participating in and raising awareness K-12 about . We plan to keep that rolling all year.
Yes. I love working right along side the students on our iPads and showing them my screen via Apple TV.
At CGMSC, we use any teachable moment possible that arises to teach digital citizenship and designated PRIDE lessons.
A3: I need to do more- used to have a signed pledge & talk about responsibility; announcements @ school great!
A3: I always tried to be a role model and have frequent conversations with students about - It's not a one and done lesson.
Q3: Modeling appropriate for digital citizenship is always at the forefront of my my mind
A3: It is part of our computer ed coursework as well as an imbedded component of our character education work during our PRIDE period

I really liked that you included students in the process! You should do that again this year. :)
A4: I LOVE resources! My favorite are the free online student interactive games that explore !

A5: Ss showcasing their academic achievements, ECAs, and volunteer activities. Ss should create footprint for potential opportunities
A5: one that they will be proud to show their children and students one day!
A5: Above all, I want my Ss to be proud of their class achievements and be able to tell others in digital community about their work
A5: If students keep it on the straight & narrow, they will be good. Be prepared for curves & wide-lanes.

A5 I want my Ss and my own children to be proud of who they are and I want their digital footprint to reflect their accomplishments
Q5: The idea of a permanent digital footprint is so scary-kids today have to be so careful online because nothing goes away
