Middle Level royalty in the house tonight.
Looking forward to connecting with you at
do we get middle level kids controlled or do we get them moving while learning? Meeting their needs with movement.
A1: Patience and repetition. Those brains are still forming and need constant reinforcement. Like bowling with bumpers.
A1: compassion and someone who cares and is invested in their success: socially, academically and emotionally.
A1) They are vulnerable & want to fit in. It's critical we identify differences & celebrate them. Make ALL feel ACCEPTED!
A1 A sense of belonging. That's a human need also, but middle level kids don't know what kind of human they are yet.
Thanks bud! Should be really good in Orlando!
A1: Middle level learners desire for their voices to be heard.
A1: Navigating PIES (Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual) development. SO many changes!
Thanks for being here, Maranda!
A1:Greatest need & challenge is providing developmentally appropriate support. They are mini adults academic wise but still kids!
A1 - Passion and a sense of belonging. Keep challenging them w what they are passionate about.
Greatest need for all (middle) learners is to know there is at least one adult at school who cares for them. Relationships matter.
Hi Maranda! Welcome to Ohio.
Hi crew! Beth, MS principal from MO excited to join for a bit for tonight.
A1: middle learners need to feel respected, understood, & know that someone sincerely cares 2 listen. Relationships & trust r key.
We cannot minimize them! We must treat them as growing young adults. Listening is a good point
A1: Middle level kids - bless their little hearts - need to consistency, support, and love. Loved my years as a MS principal.
Aaron, principal from TX. Hello!
I think all kids need movement. Middle level kids might be more vocal about it.
Thanks for being here Jon
A1-answer from my husband-who's sitting on the couch-(former MS T)help build their social skills-model for them & interact w/ them
A1: Patience and empathy is key. Remember what it was like to be there and listen to them. Seeing you care is often all they need
A1: From my interactions, it seems many Ss need someone to listen to them and make them feel validated/heard
Middle school students = passion. They can change the world & they BELIEVE they can. We help inspire & ensure that belief.
A1: Middle level kids need to know that their voices are important. They have something to contribute now.
A1. Role models, understanding (remember what it was like at 11 years old?), relevant and interdisciplinary classroom experiences
They need love and support as they build social skills and learn about themselves.
A1- Need to connect learning to their interests- keep them motivated & interested in learning there are so many other distractions
A1: To feel safe and have a sense of belonging. Ts can be sure that all Ss know they have an adult who cares about them
Coaching MS kids for years, always had to remind myself to reiterate expectations, & model repeatedly
Late again! But happy to catch !!
A1: greatest Ss need is to allow them a voice while providing them positive support and role models.
A1. Gr8est need=crave 2 know that some1 genuinely cares ab them. Our gr8est tool=ears (ask then listen) https://t.co/4B2QLeAf6G
A1: we have to remember their non-academic needs. These can be awkward years and those things can't be measured by VAM.
You're right. We should address those in all levels, but middle level is ALWAYS in flux.
A1: Greatest needs are their greatest strength too. Trying out dift versions of their future self. Need framework to do this in
You are fine! Love that you made it!
A1: They need patient, non-judgemental, empathetic listeners. They need boundaries but won't tell you that.
A1:they also need structure and limits with a gradual release.need to build responsibility.
A1 Ms Ss need patience form Ts & admins as they maneuver through challenges of adolescence They are seeking a sense of belonging
A1When we talk about the ML lrnr, there is a mixture of acad, soc & emot needs. We help by identifying and prov dif support
A1: build relationships & make sure staff and older students model correct behavior and how to learn
A1: Middle-level learners needs are high quality, differentiated, well-designed lessons each and everyday.
A1: Such an important piece to the world of middle level. Great reminder, Jay! https://t.co/za9q2oK13H
A1. Role models, understanding (remember what it was like at 11 years old?), relevant and interdisciplinary classroom experiences
A1: Build relationships! Provide a safe and secure environment conducive to social and emotional learning.
social & emotional needs. Have to empower our Ts to empower our Ss as the middle years cover such large growth & change in our Ss
Absolutely! They need to know we care. https://t.co/Z8E4ZyqGz8
A1: Patience and empathy is key. Remember what it was like to be there and listen to them. Seeing you care is often all they need
A1: MS Ss seem to bring an eagerness to learn/be better that needs to be engaged.
We (adults) seem to make most of their decisions for them. Big mistake.
A1 MS Ss greatest needs are adults that believe in them & care greatly for them. We need to support & inspire
Right, Jenifer. Relevance is a key component of ML learning
A1: they also need social skills taught and modeled, give respect and get respect
A1: MS kids need to know they are at a pretty cool age. They feel like "tweeners", and they are...need to embrace the uniqueness
A1.1: middle level learners need to feel they have a passion within them that needs to be discovered!
A1: Give them a safe place for them to find themselves.
Seven questions tonight for tonight so we will keep this movin! You will love question 7. A chance for a re-do from your own days!
Yes! Middle Lvl students are capable of rapid changes, both positive and negative. Watching them grow is my fav part!
A1: Middle level learners can get lost in the shuffle. They need compasses too!
A1 We need to celebrate the MS years & energy levels - they are amazing students
A1: MS kids need work that has real meaning. They want to make a difference, even when they don't show it.
Love your point about modeling and teaching them social skills.
A1: create classroom environment based on growth & helping Ss grow academically & emotionally. Learners need opportunity to grow
A1: foundation, support, encouragement, empathy, persistence
can't underestimate the importance of this
Also allows for using their voices to demonstrate leadership among peers
A1: BAM! Drop the mic. Love this, Aaron! https://t.co/X0MUhjE2S3
A1: Middle-level learners needs are high quality, differentiated, well-designed lessons each and everyday.
Bravo! That "trying out"=huge piece of their daily lives. Need 2 give them opps 2 try out diff selves https://t.co/6jZ20TyVVl
A1: Greatest needs are their greatest strength too. Trying out dift versions of their future self. Need framework to do this in
Agreed. Positive adult role models are essential. https://t.co/qaUyzSu2Jh
A1: To feel safe and have a sense of belonging. Ts can be sure that all Ss know they have an adult who cares about them
And don't judge the person they find while searching.
They need to explore to find themselves. They just need time to get there. https://t.co/FHQDLYUMgY
A1: Give them a safe place for them to find themselves.
I so agree, MS are some of the best years in education
I think more than any other grade level, they need to feel purpose. If it doesn't build then, it gets worse as they get older.
A1: They need positive role models, to learn social skills, engaged in social-emotional learning
Absolutely. It's a special teacher who can truly embrace and respect each student.
A1: Middle schoolers need school to be amazing! Positivity, purpose, passion, laughter and loved for who they are everyday!
Right, Neil. Finding and developing identity is important for ML learners
Love this! Too often the language is more about surviving it than celebrating it! https://t.co/ENFyfL4HgA
A1 We need to celebrate the MS years & energy levels - they are amazing students
middle yrs are awkward. Hated them as a S but love them as an admin. Watching our Ss grow & mature from 6-8 is amazing
Thanks for taking the time Maggie
it's can be difficult, but why it's even more important, need to see social skills modeled when under stress
A1: Notice that no one has said they need test prep and to learn to obey.
A1: Middle schoolers are the best! They need structure and support. They need to know you care.
Thanks for adding laughter in there - glad to see you here, Beth!
A1-I think they need to feel like they fit in while at the same time knowing that they can be comfortable being themselves
It can and will be the time students stop trusting the adults if we don't value them as ppl.
Positive Role models 👌🏾They look up to celebrities at this age & we need to give Ss real examples of role models.
...and, it can't be fake.
Right on! Ppl assume YAs know how 2 follow rules & routines. Must equip them w/ the script! Model=key! https://t.co/nSagvBtG1L
Coaching MS kids for years, always had to remind myself to reiterate expectations, & model repeatedly
Agree, Ryan. These are examples of engagement we should provide to our colleagues, also
A2 Active learning, creative, innovative, & relational learning is best for Middle Schoolers - Celebrate these Years
some of my most enjoyable years as an educator.
yes! In fact my 8th grade WEB Leaders run our entire 6 th grade orientation day!
A1: Same ride that you were on. Rough then, love now! https://t.co/2zWai5g6aL
middle yrs are awkward. Hated them as a S but love them as an admin. Watching our Ss grow & mature from 6-8 is amazing
and those two get so much attention.
A2: PBL activities where kids work together in groups - it brings out student voice and identity!
Agreed! They are so influential at this age.
Bingo! Remembering=a critical R in the middle level recipe. Got 2 stop & remember what we were like in MS https://t.co/Po8yHoTR3F
A1. Role models, understanding (remember what it was like at 11 years old?), relevant and interdisciplinary classroom experiences
A2: Looking at my CITW strategies - nonlinguistic and kinesthetic learning is important. The more PBL the better.
A2: Certainly not stand & deliver! Lessons must be engaging w/outlet for Ss voice & choice! https://t.co/DIuosYIwNZ
My biggest downfall when teaching MS was assuming! It was my first year & 6th seemed like big kids to me https://t.co/hgYrFtPG2s
Right on! Ppl assume YAs know how 2 follow rules & routines. Must equip them w/ the script! Model=key! https://t.co/nSagvBtG1L
Coaching MS kids for years, always had to remind myself to reiterate expectations, & model repeatedly
A2. STRUCTURED collaborative work (need to model HOW collaboration works), clear objectives and connections
my favorite 'strategy' is the reset button. Everyday is a new day in middle school. We have to have this flexibility with them
a2. PBL allows you to have time for their emotional needs. Give them creative projects.
A2: Providing opportunities for Ss to have choice & voice is huge! Challenge then to think, not just fill in a blank.
A2) Social development is critical...so I say employing the 4Cs are vital. https://t.co/SZG9xKZoX9 and project-based learning
A2: Choice and freedom to make mistakes. Both provide opportunities to be empowered.
A1 they need opportunities to discover similarities & value differences btwn peers and themselves. Deliberate SEL
Appreciate your point about clarity!
A2: In general, specific meaningful feedback, scaffolded choice and practice, and cross-curricular perspectives.
amen! Love these kids. Not always easy, but always worth it!
A2:workshop and group time.i call it my "FaceTime" with them. Time to work but time to really prove understanding and interact
A2: Differentiated instruction with a lot of conferring; self paced learning.
A2 - PBL & Passion Projects allow for ownership and self discovery. I'm amazed/proud of projects our 4-5 Ss are passionate about!
A2: Getting away from the traditional teaching methods. The students should talk more than the teacher. Engage and inspire them.
can't agree more. Can't assume they know how to do it. Need to show them, coach them.
A2: Middle-level learners want and need to be social. Instruction should incorporate effective S to S communication & reflection.
Yes! YAs have sense of urgency that if we leave untapped will turn into apathy. Got 2 keep them connected https://t.co/abEMKXLqSe
A1: Middle level kids need to know that their voices are important. They have something to contribute now.
A2: Performance Tasks. Rubric based grading. Grade Contracts. Ground rules for collaborative discussions. Service Learning.
Great point. A lot of grace and presuming positive intent must be there.
Agree! Never a dull day in the life of teaching junior high kids. I wouldn't have it any other day.
A2: MS kiddos need formative practices where they learn from mistakes, and collaborative activities where they learn from others
Yes!👌🏾 Only age that compares to such significant change of adolescence is a Ss 1st year of life!
thanks for hopping in, Beth! And, yes, AMAZING!
Absolutely - the students know and aren't afraid to point them out.
Agree! Never a dull day in the life of teaching junior high kids. I wouldn't have it any other way
A2 Those that allow our Ss to have purposeful engagement with each other, as they question, think, share, and debate
MS students excel when presented with a meaningful real-life challenge-- they will collaborate to create/solve & make a difference
A2: Building in choice of topic and choice of product when applicable. Autonomy and ownership for MS Ss can be so motivating!
A2: I would also suggest clearly written rubrics, ideally done with student input so kids see a clear path to success.
A2 MsSs need a time set aside in the busy ms day to focus on relationships.
A2 Middle level kids are social, but not with everyone. Can't just, "do groups" They need to talk.
yes! No one wants to listen to the teacher talk at you!
A1: Figuring out how to prep middle level for HS rigor while balancing soc-emo needs AND parents is challenging.
it's like a box of chocolates.
A2- AVID has the emotional with a family- like elective- teaches impt skills: student-led tutorials, note-taking, soft skills
You're right, Brett, partnered with meaningful feedback that can be used to improve skills
A2: Encouraging innov8ion in the classroom/school empowers Ss/Ts w/ the freedom 2 safely take risks, make mistakes and fail 4ward.
very necessary with many students
A2: my 7th grd had excitement 4 service learning projects tied to standards. Reading &Writing workshop AGILE style works wonders!
A2 Middle Schoolers need to given opportunities to Relate, Innovate, & Invigorate
MS Ss are the most upfront Ss I have ever had. No problem telling me exactly what worked/didn't work in our class.
I agree! Heck I don't even want to listen to myself talk.
A2: Recently broke down learning targets with my classes. Provided reason and purpose to the upcoming topic. Will de use again!
Is assigning roles and structuring S-2-S interactions equally as critical? Just curious.
Tonights convo is close to my heart.
Yes! Need to get them involved in meaningful ways. https://t.co/1yeva6IKyA
A2: I would also suggest clearly written rubrics, ideally done with student input so kids see a clear path to success.
Engaging projects that allow for S led choice and direction, teacher engagement too!
Attending ? I am leading a Workshop on 2/9 on using simulations & computational thinking to teach scientific practices
is now trending in USA, ranking 45
A2: Classroom culture that promotes risk taking, collaborative & differentiated, feedback that is specific to individual needs.
A2: they also need opportunities to Lrn how to talk, present, rationalize. Anything critical thinking!!!!
A2: Quality feedback from peers & Ts. Opportunities to work together & communicate effectively & openly. https://t.co/lA7miC9yvP
🎯 We encourage babies 2 walk/talk. Once they do we tell them to sit/be quiet!😳Need to encourage & teach social skills.
So true-we need to build time in the day for positive socialization for ML kids https://t.co/UcoMw5Xeao
A2 Middle level kids are social, but not with everyone. Can't just, "do groups" They need to talk.
A2: Teachers modeling appropriate social behaviors
Missing in the discussion on Middle Level Education! Need the GT perspective!
Julie from MA- hoping to join for a bit.
A2: Focus from strategies to building caring, genuine relationships. Emotion builds foundation for cognition.
Like this, Pete. Allows our Ss to visually plot their progess on the road to success
Got to experience something today that many of our kids experience on a regular basis. And I didn't like it. Doubt they do either.
Choice -> Motivation -> Growth Mindset. https://t.co/Djh2GO1Qb2
A2: Building in choice of topic and choice of product when applicable. Autonomy and ownership for MS Ss can be so motivating!
A2:need timed activities.helps build pacing and self regulation.modeling how to do stuff! Model Model Model
A2. Best instruction 4 MS= ab collab, talk, voice, choice, & big, unfettered questions! Oh, & laughter! https://t.co/1Oj1uK6nUz
My 7th grade year was my 1st experience w/ "departmentalization". My 2nd grader is departmentalized now. I just don't know.
and I appreciate their honesty! Helps move things forward and get to know Ss wants/needs
Very true. Those "soft-skills" are so important in life. Empathy, tact, respect, compromise, teamwork
And talk can be physical or digitally! I allowed my Ss to text between classes. It was awesome!
A2 We did Unity Day to teach Social Skills in an interactive & Role Playing manner - It’s powerful
Yes timothy! Providing them a platform for innovation. Move from jargon to action.
A lot of discussion tonight about models. They need models.
Already have way in and just getting to question 3 for ! Great question for ALL T's and admin. here! https://t.co/JMQSkj5rAY
is trending! Great discussion tonight!
True! Some folks do need those relationship-building strategies 2 go w/ their content strategies. https://t.co/o7sc1dUxuD
A2: Focus from strategies to building caring, genuine relationships. Emotion builds foundation for cognition.
A2: Ss choice and voice. We say it and hear it over and over but it is true.
unfortunately education has put content as the number one priority.
Sometimes depends on personnel. 2nd is as low as I have ever heard of that though.
Already HALF way in and just getting to question 3 for ! Great question for ALL T's and admin. here! https://t.co/mWTZEQ221a
A2: In my experience, the use of humor is extremely important in middle school classrooms.
A3: To actually see the space and walk around. Lockers, bathrooms, and layouts are scary at first
A2:Student-Centered class is BeST! If Ts doing most of the talking they are doing the most! Let's Ss have voice in their learning.
Positive role models from different perspectives. https://t.co/AhY91pcqI4
A lot of discussion tonight about models. They need models.
I think so. S2S comm needs to be modeled and scaffolded to lead to high quality S discussion. https://t.co/KE2NYcSWUh
Is assigning roles and structuring S-2-S interactions equally as critical? Just curious.
Make no mistake, they HAVE models. Question is whether they are positive or negative.
Absolutely!
We don't have a shot at the academic stuff if we don't strike a chord with their hearts. https://t.co/yuns34Yv89
I'm glad - just spoke with a community member that was amazed we thought social emotional was this important at the middle level.
A3: Having upperclassmen welcoming them, helping to show them around, and making them feel at home.
I wish adults would realize that just because they have their phone doesn't mean they are doing wrong.
A2: Developing a sense of self awareness, personal identity, and ownership. MS Ss need to know they are accepted by peers and Ts
A3: Gotta shout out and their WEB program. Top notch transition program for MS kiddos
Maybe HS Ss mentors?I did a project w/ HS Ss abt to communication-they spoke eloquently abt what a mess they were in MS
A3-Introducing them to a variety of staff allowing them to connect w new building & people. Relationships=Strong Schools
see the school, try the lockers, meet some of the teachers, just get the lay of the land. Helps increase comfort
You know how I feel about the value of integrated teaching. Specialization should not mean subjects taught in isolation.
YES! My son is watching science or history YouTube videos - and he loves it!
Students push through cognitive demand and struggle if they know Ts are pulling for them.
First time I have heard laughter tonight....let's include fun too. Thank you Dru! https://t.co/QiJhxc90f2
A2. Best instruction 4 MS= ab collab, talk, voice, choice, & big, unfettered questions! Oh, & laughter! https://t.co/1Oj1uK6nUz
We have WEB, too! I love it!
Yes! Need 2 help them be critical thinkers/readers/listeners/citizens/techno-users, etc! Must start in MS! https://t.co/X2RzMn3HJr
A2: they also need opportunities to Lrn how to talk, present, rationalize. Anything critical thinking!!!!
Q3: Knowing what to expect and having a few key relationships in place
a3. Between buildings, empowerment and buy in. level up on opportunities offered, expectations. Not just responsibilities
추천# 강남풀살롱01021543560 야구장위치
This is so important! https://t.co/1yWv13VhQv
A3: Having upperclassmen welcoming them, helping to show them around, and making them feel at home.
A3- we need to teach students confidence, organization, and how to advocate for themselves
A3: transition planning for all kids not just IEP, vertical alignment of instructional strategies, open houses, peer mentors, etc.
and MS Ss look up to HS Ss in a crazy way. Almost like celebrities and thy're only a few years apart.
A3: New environment, new structures(?), new expectations(?), new peers(?) - intentionally acclimate Ss to these changes early.
Critical we teach MS Ss in particular digital citizenship b/c Gen Z Ss do not know life w/out technology.
A3) The connections with more than one teacher!. Let's expose them to several prototypes of greatness! https://t.co/OXvRxl1K7R
Already HALF way in and just getting to question 3 for ! Great question for ALL T's and admin. here! https://t.co/mWTZEQ221a
A3: Sharing with them the different activities, sports, and other outlets to hang out with others and find themselves!
Relationships and modeling are vital
Q3 for is a must conversation for educators K-12. Essential to what we do, essential for seamless success. https://t.co/oLRgZxo6rv
A3) transition starts during 8th grd. We have Juniors visit the middle schools 4 times per year for transition activities.
A3 I start a newsletter in January to MS Students/Parents about what to expect at HS - Check it out at https://t.co/oatBpqTK5R
A3: We had 5th & 6th grade Ts meet to discuss the new MS kids. We tried to get 9th Ts to talk to our 8th, but no love.
A3:Vertical curriculum convos are essential for teachers.Ss need to feel like they belong and have a voice. Ways to get involved.
A3: Give intro week tours that highlight the building to help calm fears.
Give them opportunities to feel comfortable, know what is coming and ask questions. I like it! https://t.co/ZgD70c5mwy
A3: Vertical planning 4 Ts & visits for Ss between buildings throughout the year not just end of year or summer. https://t.co/7jCnXtdRnL
A3: Repeated locker opening instruction!
A3: Set students up with mentors in buildings they are transitioning to.
I love that you have such a cool poster for this! Makes it look fun!
A3: Full day visitation w/ shadowing. Pen Pal mentors. Teacher swapping. Pre-start day to practice schedule, locker comb. etc
3 It’s walking them step by step through the transition & connecting them to a caring adult & a positive student
I agree, confidence is big! Gotta be able to take changes & know you can recover if failure
Social/emotional is key at all ages. A focus on building relationships creates a foundation for learning. https://t.co/N8jRWOECn2
I'm glad - just spoke with a community member that was amazed we thought social emotional was this important at the middle level.
A3 Camp day with teaming announcements, locations, logistics, expectations, opps for leadership, opps for extra-curriculars
That looks awesome! My son is headed to 6th next yr and I'm secretly a wreck about it.
A3:in my role with gifted it starts with solid development of stress mgmt strategies and where to get support at MS and HS
Absolutely! My kids are new to their schools this year - they need places to meet others.
vertical planning is often a forgotten art. When I was elementary, we did this as often as grade level planning.
A1: middle students need a sense of belonging. Ts need to show them that they recognize their achievements. Acknowledge them.
A3) Can be so impactful when they have something they can be a "trusted expert" on, amid all the newness.
A3 I work in small school. Important to be seen/known in student's building before transition
Dig citizenship is a must. says that we can't amputate their digital limbs
Anxiety of unknown is the enemy of middle level transition. Have to dispel by giving Sa imperious opportunities.
A3: Conversations between building staff about students and their needs
A3: many MS team then HS doesn't. How do they manage time? Relationships? Etc.

A3: provide opportunities for Ss to create friendships with older Ss so they feel they have an ally
A3: Buildings need to change all together. Common areas for Ss to collaborate and get creative. Be more vibrant and inviting.
I was looking for some of that feedback from today. Let's just say there is always tomorrow! =)
Right, Neil, especially important if Ss are transitioning into a large MS and need to find their area
A3:We have transition mtgs with 4th & 5th grade teachers(5th in MS in our district) to get to kno Ss as best we can b4 they arrive
When I was admin we did it even among middle Ts in our building once a month.
A3: creating expectations & modeling those expectations
A3 Upper classman as mentors/advisors builds connections, leadership skills, and reduces anxiety

A2 Middle level kids are social, but not with everyone. Can't just, "do groups" They need to talk.
Absolutely! I remember I was terrified and I see it in kid's eyes - we need to help them feel welcome!
A3: So important for the HS athletic teams/coaches to be around and know to the MS students. Provides aspirations!
a2: providing constructive feedback that has a meaning. Provide them a voice in the classroom.
Great idea! Our schools believe in it and would love that!
Right, Char, with older Ss facilitating some of the processes to allow them to demonstrate on campus leadership
Often overlooked, it seems we need to be extremely clear of what Ss can expect from Ts & how we expect them to progress from 6-7-8
Anxiety of unknown is the enemy of middle level transition. Have to dispel by giving Ss numerous opportunities.
Organization is the downfall of many Ss. Time management is a close second. REALLY need explicit inst. for this
Advisory groups help build critical connections (with students and staff). Sense of belonging/purpose
Very funny-I'm not qualified to give feedback related to questions about students in the middle! I surrender
Yes! Need 2 show every stakeholder that MS=its own place, own home, own community. Not a place 4 HS prep! https://t.co/04kPeicQyg
A1: Figuring out how to prep middle level for HS rigor while balancing soc-emo needs AND parents is challenging.

❤️ Big bro/sis mentoring with HS & MS Ss.
You know is doing good when you get the spam.
a3: listening to Ss and the concerns that they have. If we fail to learn what concerns they have, we can't reach them.
I'd say at first. Unless you're lucky and have Ss who have been discussing together in previous grades. https://t.co/mgczzmPCii
It seems to be a universal practice to structure these interactions, but didn't know if it is necessary. thx!
that is what makes a middle level teacher the gem that they are. All T's have their craft. This is ours.
Right! The word "purposeful"=so essential there. Engagement w/out purpose can turn into lost opportunity. https://t.co/yp6vfgmoWU
A2 Those that allow our Ss to have purposeful engagement with each other, as they question, think, share, and debate
I agree, we are an AVID elem school and teach our students to maintain a binder & agenda and we learn to take notes!

Hey, Rosa! Welcome to - glad you could make it!
I still am in contact with hundreds of "my kids" from MS in the 1990s - 2003. Sadly I lost one over the weekend.

A4) Servant. I help them get what they need. From directing traffic to printing off a schedule for a S, there to help & assist

A4: As a district administrator, my goal is to sit w/ students at lunch and learn from them. Mostly, I like to listen and learn.
A4: as Stu Co advisor, I'm often the listener, since they are not my Ss I try to give them a platform to share thoughts/ideas

A6) Middle Level Must...give Ss choices. Can't schedule their every move & expect them to excel when in HS

Yes it is! This is what we are about as educators no matter the grade!

in my experience, all students would prefer to treat each other well, they just need our help to do it.
A7 Honestly, I don't think I would. I am who I am because of the ridiculous, horrible and embarrassing things I did back then.
A7- not to worry so much about what everyone else thought of me & what everyone else was doing - just be confident with who I was
A7: Work harder to be better than myself, not just my peers. And actually get the nerve to ask a girl to dance!
