Theresa Ostgarden-South MS Business Ed-I was at the NDCEL Conference, then drove to the cities to visit my good friend, and then drove back to Bismarck for standards writing. #gfedchat
Melissa Buchhop Century 4th grade. Finally started to read the book for @McFarlaneRich book study! and was sick most of the break so I watched Gilmore Girls reruns #gfedchat
Diane Krueger, 8th grade English at Valley, traveled with my sister to visit my grandparents, started reading Jodi Picoult's new book A Spark of Light #gfedchat
Allison Slominski 2nd grade Winship - I spent my weekend with my 6 week old baby girl, we went to our first (of hopefully many) hockey games! #gfedchat
A1- Draftback has been great for checking authenticity of students' work. Allows to see students work in real time. Making sure they aren't copying and pasting. #gfedchat
A1: I'm always looking for ways to integrate technology into my speech lesson; especially for my older students who rely on technology to assist them in the classroom #gfedchat
A1: I love all the icons with insert icon add on! I think that it will allow my students to make more interesting presentations rather then just searching for photos #gfedchat
A1: Ss are able to be more creative and individualize their work. They are able to practice using tools they can use in future school assignments or work presentations. Adding to their toolboxes! #gfedchat
A1- I hooked a Chromecast onto my projector and now students can share what they are working on their Chromebooks on the big screen from their desk. #gfedchat
A1 continued: I'm using Screencastify for the first time (hoping Wednesday) with my kids to present their restaurant idea as a different way to present information. This way the kids can do rounds as they are "touring" the restaurant. #gfedchat

A1- I’m new to add ons and may need to be creative for speech. But my older students love when I bring out technology and it seems like a good way for them to show their skills independently. #gfedchat
Next up Add-ons for Google Forms. But first take this quiz and then check your email. You will find a certificate with your score. https://t.co/CNiS95HjEF#gfedchat
LOVE Screencastify and I LOVE the idea of having kids add some verbal content to presentations. Great way to differentiate for some kiddos... #gfedchat
I love the certificate! I use Google Forms in my class for quizzes/tests...I can't wait for my students to receive their certificates. I was VERY excited when I saw my certificate!
#gfedchat
Okay... so I'm playing around... someone needs to take this quiz that was heavily influenced by the television show I was watching... https://t.co/Vp1Zs1od2M#gfedchat
A2: Love having kids make quizzes for one another. I feel like it helps them to feel like experts. This would be a fun add on for this and, again, I love that Google Forms now grades everything for you!!! #gfedchat
I used a seperate website to create a volunteer sign up for my cheerleaders last year. This would be so much easier since it's integrated in our Google accounts. #gfedchat
A3: Oh my gosh. This choice eliminator thing would be perfect for students signing up for volunteer events for Valley's Student Leadership!!!! #gfedchat
A3: I am not sure how exactly I would use it as a SPED teacher however I can see classroom teachers use it for parents to sign up or maybe for students to sign up for group projects #gfedchat
A3: Having Ss sign up for times to conference with me or to share their Book Talks. Creative Writing Ss could sign up for times to share their stories for writer workshops. #gfedchat
A3: I don't quite know what I could use it for in APE, but i'm sure if I had more time and better understanding, I could figure something out! #gfedchat
The last Add-On tonight will be Form Mule. This Add-On is used in a Google Sheet. The email you received after you signed up for the Dance came to your email because of Form Mule. #gfedchat
A3: Teachers that create any sort of sign ups would use it. I think coaches, boosters, admin, after school activities, volunteering projects, or anything similar would get a lot of use out of the choice eliminator. #gfedchat
A3: If I can figure it out, I think this would be a wonderful tool for sign-ups. I've used Sign-up Genius, but there are bugs that I don't like about it...all the advertisements.
#gfedchat
A3: Ss signing up for ongoing book chats throughout the quarter, signing up for help sessions before/after school or during lunch, claiming topics for presentations/research/etc.
#gfedchat
I did. I got the email that showed my responses because I checked that box at the end. I think it didn't send me a certificate because I got most or all of them wrong... Is there a threshold option we can use like everyone over 80% gets a certificate? #gfedchat
Releasing scores in Google Forms will send a link to the recipient who completed the form. It will give them their completed form (questions & answers). I use this to send the test scores to my students. They can print out the test to have a paper copy.
#gfedchat
A4: I write reminders all the time for kids by hand... this could eliminate that! It'd be REALLY cool if I could have it send a text message to kiddos/parents... #gfedchat
A4: If you've had to complete a "Student Wellness and Social Work Referral," I set up the email notification for each social worker using Form Mule. #gfedchat

I like that they give you the option of changing the threshold. I am going to have a lot of fun with this add-on and hopefully some fun checking out this show haha #gfedchat
A4: I set up a Google form to gather present level info for IEPs for classroom teachers - this would be a nice way to acknowledge their respones - these add-ons might be better used for collaboration versus my students but we can get creative! #gfedchat
A4: @ Phoenix the SPED team has discussed setting up some training classes for paras and gen. ed teachers. Form mule would be a good way to have them sign up for specific trainings they would like to attend. #gfedchat
A4: have Ts signup for colab times on students and be able to mass mail all teachers associated with each student and the times which they will need to be present on Early out Wednesday’s. #gfedchat
Thanks @chaaven for adding some variety to #gfedchat!
If anyone has a great topic and is interested in moderating a #gfedchat session, send me a message or email.
We'll see everyone back here next week!
