#edsg Archive
The #edsg hashtag is used by stakeholders who want to share information with educators in Singapore. But there is a faithful group that tunes in every fortnight on Sundays, 9 to 10pm Tuesday, 9 to 10pm (Singapore time, UTC+8) for topical chats. We provide unPD, which is informal and unsanctioned professional development (PD) for educators. Such PD is free and self-organizing, but no less valuable than official PD. We promote progressive education and evaluation by practicing connected learning, critical thinking, and community building.

-
My bad. Copied wrong link lol
-
OK i sound like a broken record EVERY year, but what apps do you use CURRENTLY and most often that's most useful. Top 3. GO!
-
1st: "Class Timetable" by Ice Media Interactive. Simple and good, share over icloud. Gives notifications. That's it. And colorful!
-
not counting the usual suspects? LassPass, Todoist, MightyText. Maybe.
-
Edu related? Nothing new and exciting I think
-
ahh ,i should have specified Edu related. But of cos ;)
-
Kaizena is pretty cool. Will use it again
-
-
2nd: "Clear" by . Nothing beats a fast to edit Task manager, where all u need to do is swipe, swipe, swipe!
-
also Nimbus Screenshot on Chrome. But I'd like to try screen capture videos for feedback this year
-
-
-
yo those two look good. Much like educreations, the 2nd one
-
My 3rd choice: "Post-it Plus" especially since it really helps in the Knowledge Building lessons, and if there's no access to the PC
-
Apps that enable real time feedback and formative assessment are always the way forward
-
Like Socrative. Worth mentioning, but recently havent used it as much. But will revive it soon.
-
But will also work for teens too :) RT : for early childhood - PicCollage, BookCreator, Adobe Voice.
-
Hi, . Just to add on to the response tools ! Check on the post that i shared with my tchrs recently

-
Worth praise, MS office apps on iOS. They look fantastic and very easy to use. And on the cloud too. Subscription for more, but worth
-
Kaizena? I used that extensively for my last year in sec school in 2014
-
If you guys have the link to the app, please share so that it can be collected as resources on Participate https://t.co/bA19oJ10Ty
-
When it comes to audio and video app, I never forget to recommend
-
Can we assume that by now, mobile learning in classes SHOULD be more integrated?
-
oh yes, but my experience with use is in EC. Would add PuppetPalsHD Directors Pass, Google Maps, Skitch, Popplet Lite
-
-
-
I am not sure, have plenty of students in JC who do NOT have Google apps installed on their smartphones
-
but would it be essential for all of them to at least have a google account? Just for connecting to the app sake
-
and they depend on official lms so much, when all data was lost recently, it was hell
-
they have Google acc just never went beyond an email acc
-
-
they were using phone browsers when accessing gdocs
-
oh no. losing data via lms would be such a big boo boo. I dread if that happens, with all the stuff created over the yrs
-
Can't help but to think what if Edmodo was used instead :)
-
5 more min to chat! After which some of us have to go back to preparing for tomorrow lol
-
hahaha oh no, i didn't include in the screenshot. But of cos!
-
I've been using and in tandem, especially when you find cool stuff online that u might wanna use in lessons later
-
wow. I don't know any of those. And hi to all the folks after a long absence :)
-
i think the same can be said to me and as well. the hiatus was real :)
-
-
well, it wasn't a hiatus. I was saying hiatyou.
-
-
-
So it's 10pm! Gotto prepare my slides now. Been fun coming back to chat. And yeah hopefully i will be more regular (fingers crossed!)
-
-
there's a lesson to be learnt there!
-
-
I remember! I used Kaizena Mini with my NTU class last sem
-
The "official" fortnightly chat is next Sun so hope to see everyone then! (and that I don't forget LOL)
-
-
I was one of the first groups invited to trial it and create a class but there were issues using app
-
