Run by Iowa educators, #IAedchat is on Twitter the first, second, and third Sundays each month at 8:00pm CST. We have added #IAedchat LIVE to the fourth Sunday of the month at 8:00pm CST. This will take place in Google Hangout on Air. We will share the invitation and link to #IAedchat LIVE each month.
In @BreneBrown book Dare to Lead she talks with a CEO that calls "failures" "learnings"...your podcast learning makes me think of that @GustafsonBrad#iaedchat
Charged conversations on Twitter might be hard because of emotions or lack of context. Podcasting allows for slower conversations! @GustafsonBrad#IAedChat LIVE
#IAedChat love the idea of book talk or video over book log- so relevant to today's learners and support 21rst century skills as well as support love of literacy at all levels!
Tech tool tip… blend S reading in with video work. Sets kids up to things they naturally are driven toward…. Use video to share book talks.
@GustafsonBrad#IAedChat
can you leverage @Seesaw for book talks from home or during workstations #keyrocks to accomplish and go deeper with the goals of reading logs and take home books? #iaedchat@GustafsonBrad
We need to understand strengths and passions of colleagues we work with, ourselves, and our Ss to find the sweet spot of schools.
#IAedChat@gustafsonbrad
Understanding strengths and values with not just the students, but with yourself as well! These are important components of being an educator. #iaedchat
@GustafsonBrad talking about the importance of knowing our students and colleagues strengths, but also know your own strengths and try to incorporate those throughout the day...important food for thought #iaedchat#KnowYourJelly
Question for @GustafsonBrad
You just mentioned pedagogy, what is one pedagogy flip that a veteran teacher, who was not raised in the digital age, can do to energize their learning space?
#iaedchat
Our K-3 buildings went to a narrative "report card" to really stress that this is a check-in with student progress and sets the stage for an ongoing conversation with families, students, and teachers...was a GREAT move for our district #iaedchat
As a parent… great move. I love how it’s completely individualized for my son and I know exact questions to ask based on 100% individualized feedback. #IAedChat@bentoncsd#KeyRocks

Not all kids learn the same, I try so hard to help my S discover how they learn best. One thing I am huge on is flexible seating. Hearing S talk about what their brain's need is AMAZING! #IAedChat
"Veteran teachers know how to know their kids like nobody else. Tap into that! Notice what your students’ passions are and how they learn!"

#iaedchat
Veteran teachers know their kids and understand how to connect better than anyone else, new teachers need to learn from this! I love this because it is so so true. Don't downplay your gifts, you matter! #iaedchat@GustafsonBrad
Thanks @GustafsonBrad for the answer!
Vet Ts who know your Ss, continue to build that relationship & follow where the Ss take you. It all starts w/co-owning the classroom w/our Ss & listening to your Ss
#iaedchat
Great way to re-energize your learning space is allow your kids to problem solve and learn-empower the learning mindset and allow them to lead their learning! @GustafsonBrad#iaedchat
I often ask my Ss about hacks or how they did something Ts need to promote being a #LifeLongLearner & asking Ss questions is a big part of that process #iaedchat
