R1: this year was a year I wish I could do over. I was new to the school and didn’t know I would be working there until a couple weeks before the start of the year. Felt like I was chasing myself all year. #teachNVchat
A2: it can be tough with seniors when there’s senior events, AP testing, etc but I’ve found that having student lead projects keep up engagement. #teachNVchat
#teachNVchat, a2, in many classrooms, students are working on hands on, real world activities that involve choice, it’s wonderful to see students are still motivated and engaged in learning.
A2: (Not in the classroom) I continue to ask Qs and challenge teachers to keep pursuing ways to engage kids in creative process. Constant iteration/design. #teachNVchat
A2 my time is spent talking to students more as we review. Had student ask me for advice Tuesday on a first job interview, we talked today she was so excited to tell me she got the job! #CareerTechEd#TeachNVchat
We are. The school as a whole counts down, I just choose not to. I will see most of my kids in class over summer. They get out on a Thursday and return Monday. #teachNVchat
A2 we love coming to school each day so it’s easy, today we Skyped w/ 50 countries and @frogmen answered student questions about his days on the Calypsos w/ Jacques Cousteau #teachNVchat
A3 The one thing every site leader/leadership team should make sure we do is keep everyone motivated to finish the year strong with memorable events: field day, celebrations, friendly competition, talent show, etc. #TeachNVchat
