I've been involved in developing the standardized test in CA. Hard to write ? that can be easily scored.

In grades 4 and 5 we are mostly developing models. Once developed, model can be used to explain other phenomena

True. In my training sessions, explaining from a model helped me and other Ts realize what was missing from our explanations.
