The Breakfast Club – #BFC530 – is a 15 minute, 1 question Twitter chat every weekday. We chat in 4 timezones Mon-Fri – 5:30am Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific Times. The mission of BFC is to empower participants to make a difference in education by engaging in consistent reflective practice in a supportive community that inspires and challenges one another.
Good morning #bfc530! I went to an amazing training for accreditation by the New England Association - completely focused on school growth rather than compliance. It was so inspiring!
Gm. Author_ Kemba Smith. She made some poor choices as a student that got her in a lot of trouble. Her journey back was long but victorious. My Ss , many, need to see the other side #BFC530
I know the sky’s the limit here but I often think close to home is more impactful like a highly successful graduate of our town or a local maine Native artisan who does extraordinary handcraft, an adult with special needs that connects and broadens their thinking... #bfc530
I think I would want them to see some former students that took different path, hs graduates, technical school, college. Sometimes they dont know their options... #bfc530
Great! I spent 3 days on DC advocating on Capital Hill as part of the NASSP Principals Institute. Met w/all 3 of my representatives. Quite an experience! #bfc530
I would bring in Boston Red Sox pitcher @RickPorcello who was not only a great athlete @blackriverms but great student and great kid. I think it would be great for my students to hear him share stories about walking the same hallways as they did #bfc530
If you could bring one person into your classroom for the day to speak to your students, who would you choose?

Short list of live guest speakers for class for the day could include Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Brian Tracy, Desmond Tutu, Dali Lama, Bob Proctor #BFC530
George Washington. I would love him to explain in person just how difficult it was to start this great country, & why it is important for kids to b active citizens #bfc530
Other option would be Tyreek or Morgan , a student from the school who was being successful at the human dream/ providing for themselves and family, gainfully working, growing, protected #BFC530

Hey, I'm up with you east coasters today! We have a charity event today called Sunrise School Spirit. We've raised close to 29K pounds of canned goods for local food pantries. #bfc530
So true Patty! Until I worked at a C&T center I never realized how much they can offer kids. Skilled trade-college credits-internships-life skills (this learning is often missing in our districts)- and on and on!
#bfc530
Great to see you here, Connie! I do my best, but some days I need to walk the dog, make lunches, grade, or sleep just another few minutes. It's always great to join the #BFC530 group, but every morning is not sustainable for me.
#bfc530 I wish I could bring Rod Serline into my classroom (notice I am going with the "any person, living or dead" theme). His thoughts on creativity, how we treat our fellow man, and the importance of imagination....timeless
Struggling with the routine piece here as well. Just can't seem to get in the groove this year. But trying to shift the mindset and remind myself that I'm just not there YET. For now, I'll just keep a smile on my face and keep plugging away!

#bfc530 Let me try this again (with correct spelling!) The one person I would bring into my classroom would be Rod Serling: his creativity, his ability to help us understand each other, and his love of imagination....timeless
GM #bfc530 Bruce, tech teacher from NJ. Excited today as my 8th grade students begin the 11th year of our live news show called CTV. Good luck to the students. Here’s a pic of our studio makeover.
Think @Twitter is telling me to get ready for school as it keeps freezing up on me.
Jumping out for the day. Hope everyone has a Fantastic Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!
Hope to see you all on Monday!

Yeah, I know it's not a lot. But you have to start somewhere. And you start by putting one foot in front of the other. I woke up this morning! Therefore, I'm choosing to be happy today. Wishing you and yours a fantastic Friday. #TGIF#BecomeBetter#bfc530#eduninjamindset
