A1 Twitter is where I look for ideas of books to read, blogs to follow and great educators to connect with. Daily I feel blessed to learn from other leaders. #piachat
A1-primarily Twitter and an occasional Voxer conversation. Love the ability to connect with a variety of people, hear about their passions and reflect on my own practices. Growing my PLN has been amazing PD. #piachat
A1: Learn & grow via twitter, Voxer & a PLN on Skype too. Plans to grow: create specific nationwide groups & host the opps to grow our work bigger in rural places #PIAchat
A1 Really learn a lot from twitter chats and love connecting with authors from @dbc_inc that challenge my thinking and support my growth. Getting better at Voxer but still need work. #PIAchat
A1: I use Twitter to get ideas from mg PLN, find the best books to read, & connect w/ some of the most inspirational leaders! I also use Voxer. Social media has been a Leadership pineapple chart for me. It’s awesome to see what others are doing and stretches me to grow! #PIAchat

A2 I try to join with colleagues to allow for conversations to extend our learning. Going to be doing that at #ISTE this summer. Will any of you be there? #PIAchat
A2: I think if you are going to a large conference, you have to pick a strand that you really want to learn about and something you know will help your staff and yourself grow. This year, #NAESP will be all about social emotional learning for me! #piachat

A3: titles mean much to me- they give me the glimpse of creativity. I want it to inspire my ideas for the vision that is being made into reality. If it lines up, I go! #PIAchat
A1: Loving Twitter...it took me 3 tries before I got hooked! I use Voxer to network with #PIA and also my fellow Mastermind members. Joined a principals page on FB....and it is unique. Staying away from PD on Facebook. #piachat
A3: I sometimes go to PD sessions based on who is leading it. If these is an awesome presenter or thought leader, I’m there. Also want topics relevant to our current school mission and goals. #PIAchat
A3: Depends on the conference. If sessions are taped I don't go to any. I can watch later. I'll tell you this - the MAGIC happens in the hallways. If not taped, I look for an interesting title that solves a problem I face #PIAchat
A3: Something that aligns with a problem I'm encountering. Right now that would be anything to do with poverty and trauma informed instruction. #piachat
A3:Based on my goals as well as the goals of our school.I also choose topics that I know I need to learn more about in order to be more effective for my staff & students! Last year,I attended a session on personalized PD & came back& implemented it. People over programs! #piachat
A3: we set our goals in the mid year here in DPS - I use that as a springboard for what to choose, as well as what may be on the horizon to pay attention to #piachat
A4: I take notes or tweet live to keep me engaged. That way if I know I need to share something that is quality and others will find valuable I'll pay more attention #PIAchat
I so agree! I have had moments where I have learned more during conversations over snacks and drinks than in a session where I can't clarify or ask questions! #piachat
A4 I have a difficult time staying focused at any time, but if there is a hashtag, I follow that and it helps. And then I think about how what I'm learning can make me, or my school, better. #PIAChat
A4: Try to make the best of the situation. Get out of the session whatever you can to help yourself. If you are there, may as well take advantage of the learning. Can always check my twitter feed. #PIAchat
Q4 To keep PD engaging, I want to create conversation that focuses on it with other leaders. This helps to keep all engaged and learning from each other. Also helps to keep the conversation going after the PD session #piachat
A4: I grab ahold of one thing, then I dream it out by writing notes about what can be. Even the boring stuff inspires a creative idea about something, just have to be creative enough to engage the dream! 💡#PIAchat
A4: I always have the mindset that there is something to learn from every experience. I have never walked away from PD without learning something. Give it a chance & be open minded! Embrace the opportunity. #piachat
A4: A4: Use time to build relationships with those at your table/area if there is time. In one of my induction classes I was able to introduce folks to Voxer and I ran into one member and they said they use it regularly now in their role! #piachat
A4- If I have different options, I move and find a better session. I might also try connecting with some of the attendees... collective intelligence! Ask questions. Sometimes the content is important and you can't change the engagement. #piachat
Q5 I utilize my Rocket notebook to jot my ideas down and scan for later. I would be lost without this technology but ability to still take notes by hand. #piachat
A5: I create folders in Google Drive for PD. I always go back there for ideas and to reflect on my learning. It’s amazing to go back to things I learned several years ago that I may have forgotten about had I not organized it that way! #piachat
A5: I keep an ongoing google doc journal- it is my one stop for all the stuff from the entire event. I journal at the end with other thoughts for action & on our lead team agenda to ensure action #PIAchat
A5: My old go-to was Evernote. Now I just create a folder in Google Drive and keep a new doc for each session which I can refer back to. If you teach what you learn to others (like I do on my podcast or YouTube channel) your brain remembers a lot of what you learn! #PIAchat
A5--pictures with dig. notes...journal...give yourself a little time to reflect before moving on to "the next thing." Post-its, conversations, it's more about the content in how I work on the recall. #piachat#givemesomethingtojogthisbrain
It is a notebook (or you can download and print pages) to take hand written notes then when you scan it with your phone it adds it as a PDF to your google drive or where ever you want to send it. #lifesaver#piachat
The cool thing is that the podcast and videos become artifacts of my learning and because they "live" on the web they are evergreen. The ROI is ridiculous #PIAchat
