A1. Classcraft is one of my most favorite resources within the classroom. It helps bridge the gap between the disconnected and the engaged. The students all want to obtain points, powers, and objects. #bookcamppd
A1: I gained so much from the books I read last year, but #tlap showed me that it's okay to be that weird teacher and accept the weird looks I get from my colleagues sometimes :) #bookcamppd
A1: I am reading Talk Read Talk Write by @nancymotleyTRTW and I am learning so much about supporting our students with authentic and meaningful writing
Shoutout to #ELLchat_bkclub for keeping me up engaged with great books #BookcampPD

A1) I just started using a binder w/mini-sized anchor charts & posters, check lists, etc. to refer to when conferring. Then it's close up & I can use it to reteach, refer to, show examples, etc. #bookcamppd

It’s a gamification platform! @classcraftgame syncs with your GoogleCR, you come up with the points to give Ss if they’re doing certain tasks in your room (xp) You can also decide what ways Ss can obtain GP (gold to purchase costumes/pets) and HP (health). Ss love it! #bookcamppd
The book DIY Literacy is also amazing. I have been using micro progressions to have students self assess. My demonstration notebook is a work in progress. #BookCamppd
Q2 Ideas and resources are all around us in life - at work, on social media, and shared during social events. What is something you came across recently that you would like to share with others in this chat? #BookCampPD
I sure didn't think I had the ability to learn math so I am >SO< very thankful you are reaching out and learning this for today's students. #BookCampPD
My high schoolers have struggled with flipgrid. I thought they’d LOVE it because they love Snapchat but it’s been a challenge getting them invested in it! #BookCampPD I’d love suggestions on making it click for them.

A2: I finally used Goobric and Doctopus for leaving feedback for my students…. OH MY GOSH! It make grading and feedback so much quicker! Loved it. Definitely staying in my Edu Toolbox. #bookcamppd
A1: I read Radical Candor this year & 1 sentence changed my life. No, we are not a business, but this helps me focus on the small things. What can we tweak or adjust that's going to create big benefits for our children? #BookCampPD
A2. Have you checked out #BookCampPD 's Padlet site? So many stellar educators have added resources to this site for others to review. https://t.co/Xfgp3iNZ0v Please check it out.
My team had a 2-hour work period to actually put it together (led by our literacy coach). It was wonderful! They got us subs so we would have the time to do this. #bookcamppd

A2: Not recently learned, but I've been feeling like I really need to jump into coding and gamification this year. I have 4 books to finish working on first, but #xlap is waiting in my cart on Amazon.
Any resources you can pass along would be great! :) #bookcamppd
Oh yeah! I love #booksnaps and I have a classroom @Snapchat that my students follow! Plus it’s usually our go to video editing software for student projects #BookCampPD

Question #2 is up!
I think many of the ideas I learned from #ditchsummit Particularly @ericcurts session, I learned how to use a Google Sheet as a group task. It was super fun! #bookcamppd

Q3. On January 27th, our guest author will be Steve Wyborney author of “Writing on the Classroom Wall.” He refers to Big Ideas as “a truth that was so unexpected and so important” that it had to be written down. Do you have your own Big Idea to share? #BookCampPD

I realized it's because I use Twitter while the family is watching TV and such, so I can't listen to anything. The only time I listen is in my car. #BookCampPD

@teresagross625 and I realize it takes time, organization and brain power this morning to share all of the resources you add into this chat and we APPRECIATE YOU!! Others learn so much from YOU! #BookCampPD
A3: BIG IDEA- You need to read if you want your students to read! When I taught 3rd grade we had a set part of the day called “Read and Feed” Together (including me) read a book and ate a snack. My students began to read more because I modeled it! #BookCampPD
Next Saturday Emily Francis will be our guest moderator. I will be in Key West celebrating my husband's 70th birthday but Teresa and Emily will be here with all of you! Last week my husband had a heart attack so we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. #BookCampPD
A3: My Big ideas are borrowed from great educators but that we are always learning just like our students even the "experts" should be @DrMaryHoward :) And that I should not expect my students reading journey to be my own @pernilleripp Wise words from wise educators #BookCampPD

Before the chat ends, I have to send out my best wishes and a huge SKOL for a Vikings win tomorrow afternoon. I have been a fan since 1962 and I believe this is our year. #BookCampPD#VikingsNation

#BookCampPD I liked #ShiftThis because it's not one of those books that want me to revamp my entire course. Last year, I had a few moments that made me ask, "Why am I doing this?" I read #ShiftThis over the summer, and it helped me think through better ways to do it.

It would work! You can leave feedback for a Google Doc using these tools. The only thing is, you have to make your rubrics on a Google Sheet - then everything else is magic! You just tie that syllabus to the student doc after they submit and you are ready to grade. #BookCampPD
A3: It’s all about relationships & building up kids. You will have to redirect and allow for natural consequences, but make sure that you have put in enough deposits along the way that you don’t deplete your account with them. #BookCampPD#chaching

A3: Big Idea- Relationships make or break your classroom. If your students can buy into you, they will buy into what they're doing in class. Take the time to get to know them and let them get to know you. Tell jokes. Ask how their weekend was. Let them shine. #BookCampPD
A3: I realized the need to instill a love for reading in our high school students again! Our version of a mobile library: Weapons of Mass Instruction. #bookcamppd Students check out books with no due date!
