Hi there! I'm Sarah, a Digital Learning Coach from Frisco, TX. I am stretching myself trying to finish #shiftthis and come up with questions for #pln365
A1 What is the mindset every teacher should have? "If you've taught something 100 ways and the student still isn't getting it, the student is not the slow learner." #pln365
A1 What is the mindset every teacher should have? "If you've taught something 100 times the same way and the student still isn't getting it, the student is not the slow learner." #pln365
Interesting question Jon, but it does make me think, what would a Student be doing that would make us think they are not paying attention? We have to know our Ss :) #pln365
Oh BOOM!! But seriously, these conversations shpuld be happening in more positive way... we have to start challenging the blamers and complainers #pln365
Definitely agree to that. I have had Ss who I have tried different methods, then will go to another T for help, and get a similar explanation and it finally clicks. #PLN365
I posted that quote on FB and the first response was from a S with a math phobia from the 90s about whom I had just reflected. Once you connect to their level, anything is possible! #pln365
We throw that at our 8th Graders in Drama at the start of the season to help propel them to operate and move as leaders, but do we ever ask ourselves that question as teachers? #pln365
#PLN365 A2 How relevant is the idea of " what the teacher has not taught the Students have not learnt" in today's netizens life? To what extent can the teacher only teach ,should she be the mentor more than custodian of knowledge
Q3: Makes me think of the old Microsoft tagline, "Where do you want to go today?" We have the power to give them the world and take them anywhere, but will we? #pln365

Q2- Relationships and basic needs MUST be met before learning can take place. What does that mean for you as a teacher.... [I'd like to elaborate- when something isn't working look inward.MOST of the time there needs to be a change w/the T, not the S] #PLN365
Q3- The world is changing at an exponential rate. What does that mean for your classroom and instructional style? [Spoiler- focus on SKILLS not CONTENT. Google has content on lock now!] #PLN365
It is okay to not know the answer, if we are only teaching what we know, how will Ss achieve more and be innovative? there would be no progress #pln365
Making me think, we can never be perfect, there is always room to grow and a different direction to go, growth mindset right, and resilience. Love your question! #pln365
A2 Because the desire to synthesize & analyze will never supersede the need for clean air & feeling safe. Transparency & respect matter to all people; no matter their age or developmental level! #Pln365
so true, we need to help Ss build the skills that can prepare them for anything, according to @ajjuliani@spencerideas we have to not prepare them for "something" but prepare for "anything" #pln365

Q1: Are we teaching how "we" want to teach, or are we teaching how students learn the best?
Teaching is not about "how I teach best"; it's about how "students learn best". #pln365
@Rdene915!!! You are amazing! Thanks for an amazing #PLN365 chat tonight. Lots are great stuff and I always enjoy the Jeopardy-style chats. Really make me think.
Q4 What is if at 1st you don't succeed, try try again? A flower that gives up right before breaking the surface never has a chance. Strive to stretch beyond your comfort zone. #pln365
We also have to show a genuine care for them in order to get to know their hearts and minds. A child will only allow an instructor to peel back the onion of communication after that instructor shows an investment! #pln365
I have seen so many things through my #pln365! I started a birthday book cart thanks to @bethhouf as well as the twitter fairy. I borrow so much brilliance from this group! #PIAChat
It is especially easy to just not try. Then you don't fail and it's not your fault. Unfortunately I see this a lot with seniors in the final quarter as the game spirals out of their control... or so they think. #PLN365
