I’m Stella, I teach 7th grade Science in Franklin County KY. I am so happy to be here to shine the spotlight on my district #oneteamfcs. Cannot wait to hear what you all are doing in your classrooms and districts! #BookCampPD
Thanks for asking me to guest moderate today! I love this #pln and cannot wait to learn with you all today as we ditch those books! #ditchbook#ditchsummit#bookcamppd

Q1. How are you using resources to give students/district that unbridled access to your content?
#bookcamppd
Sarah, 3rd ELA T from OH. So glad to have some time this Saturday to join #bookcamppd and lucky to catch an author moderator of some books I would love to share with my district!
A1. By allowing them to be creative, have choices, and listening to their feedback. If it works, GREAT, if not… How can we do better next time? The biggest part is making sure we are giving them choices to learn to their own comfort zones. #BookCampPD

Q1. How are you using resources to give students/district that unbridled access to your content?
#bookcamppd
A1: All of my lessons are posted online in Google. I include links to many projects and worksheets. I also use Remind, Seesaw, Flipgrid, Google Classroom to keep parents updated on what we are doing.#bookcamppd

Q1. How are you using resources to give students/district that unbridled access to your content?
#bookcamppd
A1: I am really getting into Schoology. It was a slow start, but now have learned how to attach docs and links, assign things for them to submit. It's all right there. #bookcamppd

Q1. How are you using resources to give students/district that unbridled access to your content?
#bookcamppd
I love how we have kind of transitioned away from TPT and are now embracing the fact that we can share with each other for free. It’s about the kids. #BookCampPd

That's what we used last year, now we have moved into Schoology. I loved the conversation thread when we were in Google Classroom, having a live discussion. #bookcamppd

Q2. What tiny changes are you making in your class/district to help your students achieve big results?
#BookCampPD
A1: Google Classroom is perfect for giving students unbridled access to content! They can utilize the tools from school, home, anywhere really! I also post my lesson plans on a Google Calendar, so they can see what they need to do if they're absent. #BookCampPD
I think I am using Schoology more than I implemented Classroom. I am liking it so far! I didn't "not like" Classroom. I just don't think I used it as much. #bookcamppd
A1: The Teacher no longer has to be sole provider of information - curious engagement on a topic leads to self-led learning opportunities - leveraging #hyperdocs YouTube Playlists, and connections with others! #BookCampPD

Q2. What tiny changes are you making in your class/district to help your students achieve big results?
#BookCampPD
A2: Posting links and docs in Schoology. Now it can be extremely independent and easy to locate. They can work at their own pace. It was fantastic on Thursday! #bookcamppd
A1: We are slowly moving toward 1:1 at our HS. Most core classes are equipped with chromebooks and use Google Classroom. So many wonderful online platforms for going paperless! #BookCampPd
A2:
By helping students realize they are creative! We just have to find their type of creativity.
By showing each student they have potential to lead and succeed.
By showing each student they have a choice and a voice. #BookCampPd
A2: Posting links and docs in Schoology. Now it can be extremely independent and easy to locate. They can work at their own pace. It was fantastic on Thursday! #bookcamppd
I have started doing that in Schoology, I love that they can submit assignments and they all gather in a folder in Google Drive for me. I put modified schedule dates, due dates, holidays, etc on the calendar. #bookcamppd
A1: Learning management platforms, 1:1 mobile devices, provides endless opportunities to interact & share with and among students - the learning hours no longer are 9-3! #BookCampPD
A2: I don't have a class, but I help T's create a flexible env't to encourage differentiation in SpEd classes. Station rotations, student choice, goal setting, etc. #bookcamppd

Q2. What tiny changes are you making in your class/district to help your students achieve big results?
#BookCampPD
A2: I am always trying to add aspects that make my classroom more student-centered with more choice. More choice on topics, books, writing, and how we show our understanding. #bookcamppd
I have been reading lots lately about snow days and learning continuing. This would work well for that as well. May I ask how many of your students don't have access at home? #BookCampPD
A2: SO MANY CHOICES! I've really worked to give my students choices in anything that I can (seating, partners, reading, topics, projects, assessment, etc.) this year, so the content is more relevant to them. #BookCampPD
A2: Hosting a #TechoTuesday with @TheStephenKeys to try to build interest in using Chromebooks in the classroom.
BONUS question: What topics would you (as a teacher) be interested in learning about in a volunteer opportunity hosted by other Ts? Asking for a friend. #BookCampPd

Q3. What tools have you been using with your students to help enrich their learning experiences?
#bookcamppd
A2: more choice than in the past... not just in IR but throughout the day.. why make everyone use the same text for lessons? choice creates engagement #bookcamppd
We've also been encouraging collaboration between SpEd & GenEd in PLC's to become more proactive rather than reactive. It's not an easy shift for some! #bookcamppd
A3. @classcraftgame for classroom management! The quests and boss battles for review and delivering content has made our class so engaging! #BookCampPd
I see that too! I think our district is moving more towards Chromebooks, but my K-3 Ss do better with iPads. Have tried grants twice for more, but unsuccessful. #BookCampPD

Q3. What tools have you been using with your students to help enrich their learning experiences?
#bookcamppd
A3. @SpiralEducation! Import videos and embed questions/discussions as the students watch. Ask a quick fire question and watch the students answers pop up, host a debate + more! #BookCampPd
A3: I am loving Pixar Shorts. We explored the website to learn about nonfiction text genres. Great combination of reading, watching, listening, etc. SO COOL! #bookcamppd
Started encouraging teachers and students to use @Newsela about four years ago. It has a few challenges but greater benefits than misgivings. Also great for families to discuss at home- current events. #BookCampPD
A3: This is a funny question because I think all my kids would have different opinions if things enriched "their" learning. I love Flipgrid as an option. #BookCampPD

Great bonus question! I would love to hear responses! Our Ts have requested Khan Academy Training, Advanced Google Classroom, engaging online programs. #BookCampPd
A3: #Screencastify .. For Reteaching - I help with misconceptions and reteaching.
Enrichment- Students use screencastify to host a field trip using Google Maps/G Earth. Students host a news show on topic, students present… So many opportunities. #BookCampPd

Q4. How are you going global in your class/district? #bookcamppd
I created the world and asked them to step inside. It's not how we operate as a class. I always involve them. I needed to step back and evaluate. #bookcamppd
I use canva, but have not moved it to the students hands yet. #bookcamppd
Although, I let them go into my account and make posters for a chat. With minimal directions they did a great job!
A3: Google Maps/Earth was such an under-utilized resource in my classroom until this year! Great opportunities to provide Ss with experiences and provide meaningful context! #BookCampPd
A4: Technically, by using G maps to go on virtual field trips where the students are the tour guides. My favorite example, Ss each picked a Biome, then used G maps and Screencastify to take their viewers on a Virtual FT to different locations of their biome. #BookCampPd

A4: Taking our learning globally is something I need to do more of this year. In the past we've done a Google Hangout with @AmieBorst after reading Cinderskella. We've also chatted/blogged with other classrooms. I'm going to have to get to work... always room to grow! #BookCampPD
