Inspired by the brilliantly successful, powerful learning and collaboration opportunity that is the weekly #edchat, #elemchat was created to provide elementary (or primary) school educators with a venue for discussing issues and strategies that are specific to teaching in their context.
Wow! I love it! Go Sped team! I teach K-5 SpEd in reading in Texas!! I was a kinder and 3 grade teacher, this is my first time teaching SpEd. I equally love it and I am exhausted. How long have you been teaching?? #elemchat#SpEd
This is my 6th year teaching SPED - I'm in the @HrSvvsd district in lovely Longmont, Colorado! This year I have K-3rd grade students - and I do reading, math and social skills! What brought you to Twitter chat? #elemchat
A Grad class! Currently getting my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction to be a certified Reading Specialist @TarletonFW
What about yourself?? #twitterchat#elemchat
That's wonderful! Good for you - Kind of same thing for me. My district is hosting a "Tech Bingo" game to get teachers to try out different types of technology, one square is to participate in a Twitter Chat @SVVSDdts#SVVSDTechBingo#elemchat

#edtech is so important in the classroom! I love @SpellingCity to individualize lists and assignments for students! I also love a website called Epic! That has ebooks for students that I can assign and track their reading. Plus, it's free! What do you use?? #elemchat#technology
Those look like great apps! We have something similar to Epic! (MyOn). I love apps like #Chatterpix or #DrawandTell - I love that they allow all students, including SPED ones, to show their learning without having to have grade-level writing skills! #elemchat#SVVSDTechBingo

Very cool! I have never heard of those before. I will have to check them out. It is so hard to teach writing in SpEd because I feel like the students I work with struggle to read and writing come from the way we talk and read! #elemchat#writingintheclass#help
